Glad to see him come on and score a goal. Hopefully this will mean he gets more opportunities to start now.

His control was a lot tighter today though, and even we last saw him for England. It's not glued to his feet like Martial but I think his dribbling and close control has gone up a notch over the summer.

Maybe it's because he's bigger and stronger, so he can keep the defenders at a distance now.

Definitely his increased strength helps him to dribble when he's being jockeyed. For me his ball control has been sublime ever since I first started watching him as a fifteen-year-old.

During his first few games I really didn't notice it about him, occasionally he had explosive bursts but his control didn't stand out.

Obviously it has been there to see for a while now.

Yeah, he was playing with a lot of positional discipline in those first few games, really focussing on being in the right place to put the ball in the net all the time (which paid off!) but dribbling is a huge part of his natural game. He was a winger until pretty late in his development.

Can't really ask for any more from a substitute appearance than that, completely changed the game when him and Mkyhi came on. For now I'd still leave him on the bench but he needs to be coming on whenever possible. He'll force his way in soon enough and having the option of bringing him in if we need to change the game is fantastic to have.

Due to some pretty hard ego management, specially regarding Ibrahimović, but also Rooney and Martial, Mourinho just has to bench Rashford at the beginning of the season, but I'm sure he knows what kind of player he has in his hands.

Mourinho already said he could use Rashford along and in front of Ibrahimović, presumedly dumping Rooney, in games where United is ‘very dominant’. Also said Rashford could be used from the wings, but it has to be worked first (probably defensive wise).

So, I'm not too worried Rashford doesn't get games in the beginning of the season, since besides all Europa and League Cup games in which he'll start for sure, he will probably be a constant sub in almost every Premier League game.
It's just not happening yet because Mourinho's beibg extra cautious with results and also wants Ibrahimović to end games. Later in the season, Ibrahimović will probably be rested earlier more often. And, to be honest, substituting either Martial or Rooney or Mata/Mkhitaryan/Lingard for Rashford is always going to be an offensive sub, only deemed to happen when United is pushing for a draw or a win, and not just trying to manage the game calmly.

 Flip, the lad has some serious skill and speed.

Jesus, this kid has got incredible awareness. Some of his backheels and skills were outstanding.

Can't wait to see how he'll be in 5 years time. So far everything's pointing to a worldclass career.

His backheels are insane. The set of angles he can produce. They're not just passes or lay-offs, they're through-balls, potential assists every time.

One of a kind talent, this kid.

Saw a clip of his debut last season, he already looks significantly stronger. This is some growth spurt he's going through.

Against Hull he came on and lit the game up. Thought he was much better than Rooney and Ibra. Quicker, more energy, good feet, actually making something happen on his own.

If he doesn't start the next five games or so he should at least be getting 30 mins. Too good to be peripheral.

It's crucial he starts against City. We need his pace on the counter and in behind.

It's not the game for plodders.

He's definitely improved since the game against Midgetland. His pace and dribbling especially has improved heaps since then. He's taking on players a lot more now.

If he was a bit bulkier he'd be like a Brazilian Rinaldo lite. He's got almost everything a striker needs in his locker.

My favourite player at the moment - can't wait to see the player he becomes!

Cannot believe he's not getting a look in over the likes of Kane and Rooney.

Thinking about watching the England-Norway game. Anyone with any knowledge of the England U21 team here? If he's not playing, I'm not watching..

That's a strong U21 side.
