Marcos Rojo possible exit

Been here 4 years, had one decent spell of about 4 or 5 months.

And even during that he should have been sent off a couple of times for two footed tackles.

Getting £30m for him would be amazing.

Need to push this through if we really are waiting to sell before we buy.

I would rather that we sell jones and keep rojo. From all partnerships that we had in last 5 years, rojo- bailly was the best.

The amount of people who believe that Rojo & Bailly have played more than a couple games together is seriously alarming.
Opinions are one thing, but now we're just stating blatant lies.

It looks like this is happening but we need to hurry up and get him moved on. Preferably we could do with having him sold by the beginning of next week to give us time to bring in a new CB.

I think all of our CBs are at a similar level, we need to start by selling Jones and Rojo and replace them.

Nevertheless, i will not count games now. My point is that rojo is better defender than jones. And he will go and jones will stay. It is shame

It's just weird to hold a view that Rojo & Bailly are out best partnership based on maybe 2/3 games they've played together.

Rojo & Jones can both go as far as i'm concerned, but Jones' injury record isn't going to find him many suitors.

Rojo is on more than Jones and Jones is weirdly still young, 26. I prefer Rojo, but if one is to be sold, it's easily Rojo for me. Rojo hardly has a better injury record himself.

Due to his injury record alone, Jones should have been moved years ago. Its ridiculous he is still at OT.

It's ridiculous that we have not sorted out the defence already. Let us hope that the ones we will be bringing next will solve this problem.

I think this is right minus Bailly who is capable of something more. Still, I suppose if we are seriously looking at bringing in a new defender and one has to leave, why not start with Rojo?

£30m would be a good deal for Rojo. He's not good enough for what we're striving to achieve and his injury record casts doubt on his viability as a squad option.

30m!
Market has really become something or we take Evverton for mugs.

Just heard that Everton have sold Williams to Stoke, and are stepping up their efforts to sign Rojo....C'mon Everton...!!

Is there a team in the last 12 months that has wasted as much money as Everton?
£30m and we should rip their arm off for it.
Reminds me of Seth Johnson 'negotiating' his Leeds contract (from planet football):

The legend goes that Johnson, earning around £5,000 a week at Derby County, went into negotiations with Leeds chairman Peter Ridsdale hoping for an increase to around £13,000 a week.
Ridsdale, however, offered £30,000, and then immediately upped that to £37,000 when his opening gambit was met with stunned silence.

TS reporting he's coveted by PSG, Marseille, Zenit and Everton. I've only heard about Everton...

THe real question here is WHY??? He didn't play for a whole season and then had a horrible world cup aside from that one goal.

I don't rate him so low tbh. I prefer him to Jones and Lindelof. I think he certainly is a level or two above Ashley Williams and you can't seem to buy a half decent player these days for less than 25-30m.

I also don't believe he's on a 160K like was reported the other day.

But happy to see him leave (or any of the other ones) if it means we are acquiring top quality at centre back.

We should offer Toffees a few more of our deadweight. They owe it to us for selling us Moyes and Fellaini in the same season.

Rojo + £30 million for Maguire would be a win-win for both parties. They'd have a readymade replacement and £30 million, and we'd avoid having to deal with Levy.

We always must have a player mascot. First it was Ando, now is Jones and when Jones will leave, Shaw will become his heir. It is probably in United's status that always there must be at least a player who is both shit and crocked.

And that player must always have people who want to give them "one more chance" even though they've failed over and over for years.

No one wants to pay the salaries that our defenders are on. It's why we get stuck with the likes of Darmian, Rojo, Blind, Shaw etc for so long. I think the interest is there in Rojo but Everton probably took one look at the pay rise on his current salary he is demanding to play for them before swiftly moving on to their next target.

I like that we pay well because it's important to reward player's service and it's obviously an attraction to new players. We really need to find a balance though because we have too many players who contribute nothing on big salaries. It's probably why we always sell at a loss. Salary restructure necessary or better scouting and buying so that we'll have less instances of unsuccessful players.

Thankfully we're slowly but surely getting rid of the dead weight and those who do remain may possibly leave on a free next summer (albeit not Rojo)

Our wage structure is nuts. We have comparable if not higher wage bill to Real, Barca and City despite that our squad is much weaker. Why? Cause we pay squad players more than any other club. The likes of Rojo, Smalling, Jones, Shaw, Fellaini, Young are on 5m+ for year, it is absolutely staggering.

And that is because we no longer have the clout to ask players to come for less money and for pride of playing for Manchester United?

It was a problem also during Fergie years. Ashley Young for example was on more money than Mata/Silva on their first contract for Chelsea/City.

Top clubs give top money to top players but not that much to squad players. We try to give great contracts to everyone which has resulted in our wage bill being as big as Barca, Real and City but our players being much worse.

That's resolved in the fee and signing bonus. £20k a week for two years is only £2m. It's an easy fix and happens every year at every club. Just part of the negotiations.

Salaries have a bell curve that tracks ability and value across a career.
