Marcos Rojo possible exit

We really did sign some dross the last few years. He's likeable but he really needs to leave. Him and Darmian and then Jones because of his fitness (or lack of it) and then sign a proper CB who can stay fit.

£25m would be a very good deal for Rojo. Irrespective of whether United are going to sign a new defender or not, selling Blind, Rojo and Darmian is the right decision.

If Smalling, Jones, Bailly and Lindelof (with Tuanzebe as back up) isn't enough to cover the centre back requirements, they shouldn't be at the club. If the club signs Maguire, then really another one should go. There isn't another club in world football that plays a back 4 and has 5 genuine first choice centre back options.

The purge of LVG signings is almost complete. Herrera and Shaw were both lined up before he joined, so if Rojo, Darmian and Martial all leave, does that just leave Romero from the man who was supposed to rebuild the playing squad? Amazing foundations!

Hes our best defender unfortunately. how smalling and jones are still standing since fergie left is a miracle..

I actually really like the crazy bastard. He has balls and determination, something that a lot of players in our club lacks. However with that said, he's quite injury prone and has a mistake or two in him and can be very rash. £25m would be very hard to turn down for him.

I'd get rid of both Smalling and Jones before him but £25m would be too good to refuse.

£25m is a very good deal for us. Getting £50-55m for Blind, Rojo and Darmian would be solid business.

£25m, what an excellent piece of business from us that'd be. How many LvG signings do we even have left if Rojo goes? Would it just be Martial, Shaw and Herrera (I'm not including Darmian as I'm convinced he'll be gone by the end of the window)?

Now would be a good time to get rid but I don't believe that fee for a second.

He’s got tonnes of mistakes in him, which is either a symptom of his dedication, or a shame because of his dedication. He won’t excel at Wolves and will be back in Portugal or Argentina next season.

Jones is our best defender, but is so incredibly unreliable that we should try to sell. Smalling cannot and will not be sold - he’s our only reliable centre back and played 46 games for us last season. He has to be first choice because of that.

No way should it be Rojo leaving. Lindelof COULD improve next season while Jones NEVER will. That combined with his injury record should mean it's time we called it a day with him. Who knows maybe Leicester would even accept a player plus cash deal for Maguire. The only say this could make sense in my mind is if Rojo hasn't fully recovered from his knee injury.

First choice Maguire Bailly
Second choice Rojo Smalling
Backup Lindelof
Sold Jones

Personally hope Mata's the next one out the door, then we'd really have to sign a good right winger.

He is historically one of the worst managers in the transfer market of all time including Barcelona (enke, mendieta and riquelme) and Bayern (pranic, olic, braahfiel, luiz gustavo) and our horrible lot at united. However he does some good by installing tactical changes such as the 433 at Barcelona (from using predominantly 4231 under earlier managers), the 4231 at Bayern (after using 442 under earlier managers) - both going to be the formations used for 5-10 year non stop by the clubs where both clubs won CL leagues under the tactical influence of more capable managers.

As much as I have a feeling about buying players from Dortmund and them flopping , I have a small feeling that LVG's 352 he tried to implement will return under a different manager and turn out to be our best formations. Even under Jose; my favourite performance has been vs Chelsea when Rashford & Lingard stepped up. Look at the friendlies too and our best performance has been 352.

Don't mind him going but I'd say he deserves a better club than Wolves. Has the ability to play for some abroad UCL team's at the very least. Jones is much more worth to be sold imo.

Would much rather have this crazy bastard in the team than Jones but truthfully they both need to be gotten rid of.

Wolves is basically his level. If he was right footed he would never have been a United player. Good riddance.

While he's a good defender on the odd occasion, he just doesn't have the quality that we need to take us further. At £25 mil, we'd even make a little profit.

Jones next please.

A formation isn’t really a tactical revolution in itself. A 4-3-3 can easily be a tiki-taka Barca style, or it can be a low-block counter-attacking team like Mourinho’s first Chelsea side.

In any case, playing 4-2-3-1 at Bayern is hardly the most innovative change. Almost every top team at the time played that formation: Liverpool had Gerrard behind Torres, we had Anderson behind Ronaldo in our 09 CL run, etc.

LVG’s 3-5-2 was also an abject failure that he abandoned soon enough. I’d say Conte’s 3-4-3 was far made influential in leading other clubs to adopt a back 3 in the PL.

He tried to build a squad to play 3-5-2, sold his wingers and then changed to a back 4 after a few months. He didn't go back to a back 3 again throughout his 2 year reign but he spent the rest of his time complaining that he didn't have any wingers.

The game against Chelsea wasn't a 3-5-2. United matched Chelsea's 4 in midfield and Herrera/Darmian went man to man on Hazard/Pedro leaving 1 spare at the back. It wasn't a proactive system, just a set up to counter Chelsea's 3-4-3.

I'd drive him there myself.

I don't rate Rojo, never have. I'd assume he's links to the people behind Wolves from his time at Sporting so i'm confident this will go through.

I don't know. I really think we should try and keep some defenders who are left--footed now that Blind is gone. Will there be balance in the team? Having said that 25m is a pretty good deal.

Makes sense to move him out if we are buying a CB. The transfer fee and removing his wages will easily offset the cost of buying McGuire or whoever.

Both Rojo and Jones need to go (alongside darmian). Rojo is not better then Smalling, some suggestions to get rid of Smalling first are crazy. Getting Maguire in and Rojo + Jones out would be perfect!

If anyone actually does make a £25m offer for Rojo, id grab it with both hands. I think it will be closer to £15m if he does go.

Bailly is miles better and I'd love for him to operate alongside Alderweireld or Maguire. I'd also keep Smalling (good cover) and replace Jones with someone younger with a lot more potential who could replace Alderweireld in a few years.

Rojo, Smalling and Jones need to GTFO of the club. That defense screams nothing but mediocrity. A lot of people claim that we have the best defense in the league and that's primarily because we have De Gea and more so, we play with essentially 2 defensive central midfielders along with a back 4 that offer nothing going forward.

It's been 2 years and we've still no finalized our defense.... that's just ridiculous. It's just a joke that Smalling is even a CB for us, the guy cannot pass the ball. Jones and Rojo make so many mistakes and it's absurd, we weren't in for Lenglet after the Sevilla game.
