Marco Reus

Yeah. Barcelona is out of equation. I don’t think Madrid will sign him, unless they sell Bale. Bayern seems to be the most obvious destination but regarding their rivalry and weakening the opponent, honestly I don’t think they care that much about Dortmund right now, as they are 17th in the league.

I’m not sure if that’s reasonable but I think with LvG our chances of landing a german player increased. Reus is my muppet signing.

Don't forget Chelsea

Oh well, that's true. I was responding to Sarni about the clubs he mentioned. But there's a big chance he will end up there if they're interested I'm afraid.

I reckon we'd actually have a very good chance of landing him if we made a move. Don't think we will though, for some reason.

Don't forget it has been rumoured that Atletico have agreed terms with him already and he's only waiting for new offers before making a decision. He could end up there which would be very surprising but a good move for all parties, it'd elevate Atletico to a higher level as they haven't been able to attract players of this calibre (Falcao aside and even he wasn't as highly regarded as Reus at the time IMO).

Barcelona cannot sign players until 2016, it's fair to say he won't be going there. Real will always find a way to squeeze a player into their team and Bayern will have plenty of options of using him plus it would further weaken an already below par Dortmund side.

Bayern is already loaded with top players in that position - and all of them match better to the system than Reus does. Guardiola will already have problems satisfying everybody this season if all of them stay healthy and the midfield comes back. Recently he often played with all five "strikers". Ribery and Robben haven't started to decline and Robben probably will not and Ribery can play differently and with that be of full value. The only reason why he might be discussed is because of his low transfer fee...

One spot out of relegation, his team, right?

Can your imagine one of the best attackers in the world resigning with QPR while sitting in 17th place? Or Hull?

They're doing *something* right in Germany with their football.

If QPR or Hull won the league and got to a CL final whilst having one of the highest attendances in Europe on the past 5 years.

They're in 10th now, and only 4 points from 7th, 11 points from 3rd. 3rd would be a huge huge stretch but they can get into the EL i think.

Dortmund have got momentum and look like scoring lots of goals.....I think they will get CL place

could be a great bet for Win and Both Teams to Score over the next few months

This match day could be Dortmund's lucky (match) day. There is a good chance they will climb 4 places from 15th to 11th.

Dortmund already played against Stuttgart and sit at 10th now but will drop to at least 11th when the match day is over.
Reason: Köln (12th, one point less than Dortmund) and Hannover (11th, tied on points with Dortmund) play against each other.
But apart from that it is possible that everyone else who is below them in the table could pick up no points because they play better opposition:
Paderborn (13th) : Bayern (1st)
Hamburg (14th) : Gladbach (3rd)
Mainz (15th) : Frankfurt (9th) okay that could/should be a close one

If Dortmund can keep up their streak of good results they certainly will reach an EL place (down to 6th guaranteed, more likely down to 7th) but a CL place still seems like a stretch at the moment IMO.
Yes, Dortmund have a winning streak going but they still didn't look totally convincing in the last 3 games.
Let's not forget, they'd still need to overtake at least 7 teams in just 12 games. That is not done easily.

The CL places are out of reach in my opinion. They finally started a nice run, but they still made ridiculous errors in defense and they'll get punished soon enough if they keep doing that. They only beat 3 teams that are fighting against relegation themselves and didn't look great against teams from the top half of the table (Leverkusen and Augsburg). 6th is possible, but more than that looks really unlikely. They need to win the CL if they want to play in it again next season.

it is a long shot but there are 15 games left?

Big one next week and if they beat Schalke they could potentially be 2 wins off 4th

You'd think Wolfsburg are playing so well they are out of sight but what about Monchengladbach to Leverkusen - are they likely to be as consistent?

Only 12 games left for Dortmund, there are only 34 games in the Bundesliga (18 teams). They still have to play away at Wolfsburg and Gladbach, Bayern at home isn't easy either. Dortmund play Schalke next Saturday after they played Juve during the week while Schalke has a full week of rest. If they win that convincingly and many other results go their way, maybe they can dream. But it's a huge huge gap. Best case this week would be if Schalke lost and Augsburg - Leverkusen draw, but then it would still be 10 points to 4th.

If Dortmund win every game from now on, they finish with 61 points. That's about what you usually need for 4th place in the league (Leverkusen finished 61 points last season as 4th, Wolfsburg 60 as 5th and Gladbach 55 as 6th). It's a bit of an odd season this year. With the exception of Bayern and Wolfsburg, it seems like everyone can beat each other. Bremen was bottom of the table, then went on a 5 win run and are close to a EL place all of a sudden. Now Dortmund started a 3 win run after being last. So, yeah, in theory it could possibly happen that the teams from the bottom half of the table take enough points of the 3rd to 6th placed teams to give Dortmund a shot at the CL places. But even then Dortmund need to win at least 10 out of those 12 games, which is a big ask. It's easier for Dortmund to win the CL than to finish 4th in the league at this point.

So you really compare BVB, a team who:

- won many titles in the past few years
- defeated teams like Bayern and Real many times
- was in a CL final 2 years ago
- has one of the biggest stadiums in Europe with one of the best crowds (if not the best)

to QPR?

Their current season is a massive upset, they are still one of the top clubs in Europe though.

So, now that the transfer speculation is over, how's he been this season? Haven't seen him play yet.

His first half of the season was plagued with injuries but he returned for the break and is getting better every game.
Even with all the trouble for him and Dortmund he has 13 scorers in 16 games this season. He is soo good. Its crazy. Just 25.
I really hope that he get the career he deserves overall. Better then Bale all day every day.

To Dortmund: They are still a top 8 team in europe. They got hit by everything in the league for the first 17 gamedays.
EL is fully back on the radar. And CL is possible. The league got so deep and strong in the last years that everyone outside the top 2/3 struggles.
And neither Bayer or Schalke are(besides me rating Bayer very highly) are set to make the top 4. Augsburg is a great story but 4th after 34 BL games? No.
So; IF Dortmund beats Schalke then I really thing that they are back in the hunt for 4th.

No, I don't, that's the whole point I was making, sir.

Well I would say it's more like Sanchez extending for Arsenal if they had season where they would play against relegation.

Seems like the opened up a new case against Reus because of driving without driving license after some people have called in to the police to tell about what they have seen. As there is atleast a newspaper article of him with pictures on the wheel of his vehicle from June on Goetze's birthday and he was caught by the police in March...
Better here than in the Bundesliga thread. It's hilarious how stupid he is. I'm still wondering why the fact that he used a falsified drivers license on numerious occasions wasn't punished at all. Even without that he was lucky to get away without getting a criminal record. If he's convicted again now, it'll be on a criminal charge and will be on his record. What's a bit odd is that it's basically about incidents that happened over the same time period as the last time. At least that's how I understand it, he didn't actually drive again without a license since he was convicted. Did they really assume that the 6 times he was caught on camera for driving too fast were the only times he actually drove? And now they accusing him of doing it more often? If that's really the case, it's a bit silly. But we'll see what happens.

Anyway, he better not do it again or he might spend some time in jail.

@Balu - Are there renewed rumours of him leaving following the Klopp news? I can't see why he'd stay next year, as harsh on Dortmund as that is.

Doubt he has a choice, but no, I didn't read a single rumour so far. I'm not sure if the relationship between Klopp and the Dortmund players really is that special at the moment anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if many players are looking forward to something different and are happy that Tuchel will be there next season instead. Change isn't always bad in my opinion.

Sometimes they just need to hear a different voice.

That would be a bad Thing for ordinary citizens like you and me, who might occasionally see themselves forced to apply for a Job. Doubt it matters much for a lad who will never have to work a day in his life after he finishes playing Football.

Presuming he can't actually pass the driving test, Is it particularly hard in Germany? You would think with the money he has he could spend endless amount of time with instructors etc to pass.

I don't know how hard it is in other countries, but it's certainly not a big deal to get your license in Germany. He's driving for years without a license anyway, so it doesn't seem like he has problems with the actual driving. Learning the rules and passing the multiple choice test isn't hard either, if you put a bit of effort into it. It's probably a bit more difficult today than when I got my license, but very few people fail to get it. As far as I know he actually took lessons as an 18 year old, but never took the test at all. He just continued driving without a license. No idea if he actually failed to pass the test or just couldn't be arsed to take it and thought it's less of a burden to buy a fake license from the Netherlands and use that instead.

@Balu

He was caught by the police in March but there was a newspaper or online article with photos showing him driving his car on June 3rd, Goetze's birthday. So I am not sure it is about the same time frame or about the time after he got caught, too.

driving test in GER is demanding and expensive, but anyone who can memorize 60 test questions can do it, i.e. any half idiot - as participating in daily traffic on a typical german road on any given day will conmfirm.

According to some news reports, he may suffer from extreme test anxiety. Didn't finish his job apprenticeship, either.

I'm a bit surprised that Reus' UEFA Q&As haven't been picked up yet by the Caf:

Manchester United and Liverpool dealt transfer blow as Dortmund star drops Barcelona hint

MARCO REUS has revealed his affection for Barcelona after claiming he would like to play with Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta.

The Borussia Dortmund star has been linked with a move to the Premier League with Manchester United and Liverpool showing their interest in his services.

But the 26-year-old German admits he has always admired Barcelona by claiming he loves their attacking style of play and has picked them on the Playstation since he was a child.
"As a child I always played for Barcelona on the Playstation. The club has players of extraordinary quality and their style of play is great too," he told fans in a question and answer session on the Europa League official website's Facebook page.

When asked about the players he would most like to play with, Reus said: "I always want to play with the best in the world, whether it's Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. In midfield it would be Iniesta. All of these are world-class players."

The German, who has scored seven goals in his last nine Bundesliga games, also declared that his all-time favourite player is Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky.

It is suggested that Liverpool are the favourites to land the midfielder following Jurgen Klopp's arrival at Anfield, but Klopp has insisted that he has no intention of raiding his former club.

Apart from the fact that it's utter Express nonsense that Liverpool are favorites to land Reus, I'd put quite some money on Reus not moving an EPL club any time soon.

He's a good man that Marco Reus. Sadly we don't have a place for him though :(

He has old tweets, now deleted, that show him cheering for Barca.

Can't see him playing for us though.
