see I view it different, he didn’t step up we just dropped down levels.

Not a Maguire fan but earlier this season he was a lot better than he was during ETH his first and Ole his later seasons. During those dark days he gifted the opponent -atleast- one major chance every match and he stopped doing that.

I have a gut feeling about this one…that we will actually look a decent side and that Onana will make one or two impressive saves.

Looks like a lot of supporters are OK with Maguire starting games. I just don't have the same confidence in him at all, he always gives me the "shit the bed" vibes

I was quite confident vs Wolves, but West Ham are no mugs. They will at least score one goal today I feel. Possibly from corner or (indirect) freekicks.

I think it will be 2-1 for United.

We have a superb record against West Ham at Old Trafford & after beating us as well as Arsenal in successive weeks, they have not won in five (0-4-1).

OK with this team. Varane needs care. Can't believe we will get an easy victory but hope for it for once.

now when there's actual competition for places and no captaincy burden he's a useful player and I for one don't have a problem with him starting (Varane's obviously a better defender though)

Are West Ham going 5 at the back or does Emerson or Coufal play on the wing? Either way, lot of pace up top for Maguire to have to deal with on the break.

I anticipate another disasterclass from our defence and in particular, Onana.

Maguire for Varane is no surprise considering what we know about how fragile Varane is with too many games. You could argue Maguire deserves to be in there anyway due to his firm pre injury. Hopefully we see more of that Maguire today.

I think based on West Ham having no real striker and a slippery Bowen up top, this is probably about resting Varane and not a choice based on form. We're gonna have a high line against speed, so it makes no sense to prefer Maguire.

Glad to see Antony dropped. Hope this means he is getting moved on in the summer. Onana, on the other hand, keeps starting for some inexplicable reason. Between him and Maguire on the same pitch, I'm fully expecting at least one howler. Have a feeling Kudus will enjoy himself. I still think they don't have what it takes to beat us at Old Trafford, though.

The myth that we play a high line continues.

I'm optimistic, but I still expect waves where we look good and then poor. Think we'll get the goals, though. 3-0 to us.

This is our strongest available team (in this system*) for me so we have to see a performance.

*id prefer AWB over Dalot generally, but if we're asking the RB to step into CM, then Dalot is much the better option.

Just realized Westham are coming from 4 draws and a loss, it’s literally a MUST WIN

Let the positivity begin here on the card now and if it just be abandoned, so be it.

Fantastic to see Sir Alex Ferguson speaking with Sir Bobby Charlton wife.
Quite poinient for me as it was reading about the Munich disaster while I was delivering papers that got me to become a life long fan of Manchester United.

Another 90 mins of anxiety! :)

    Come on United!

Awww. An Ajax reunion on the pitch today.
