Manchester United vs. Liverpool

we have to stop Torres, he seem to thrive on scoring against us on the past 3-4 meetings, cnut.

Would you worry if he'd gone with the exact same players in a 442?

Not as much, I'd still rather Park started though, and perhaps bring Giggs off the bench if need be.

If we're going to go 451 I wouldn't mind seeing Anderson start alongside Scholes and Fletcher in the middle. Was watching our season review of 07/08 last night and we really could do with Anderson; I think people forget just how talented the bloke is.

Based on his last two reserve appearances, Anderson won't be reminding anyone of how talented he is for a while yet. He's still a way of being fully up to speed. He's also injured.

We're a bit suck for midfield options this weekend, with Carrick and Anderson both out. Park as awful against Rangers so I doubt he'll feature either. Scholes and Fletcher it is, I reckon.

I thought he was fit again? I was under the impression he'd just got a slight knock in the reserve game. Anderson will come good Pogue, just like Nani did.

Yeah I have no qualms about seeing us go with Fletcher and Scholes in midfield, just the question of Giggs/Park really, and whether we play Rooney on the left or up top with Berbatov.

i.e.

Nani Fletcher Scholes Giggs
Rooney Berbatov

I can see us going with exactly that line-up.

If that's the line up, then Giggs will be tucking inside with Rooney-Berbatov taking turns to drift leftwards.

We might go with Park, actually, even though he was gash on Tuesday. He can tuck in and add some energy to our midfield. Giggs is always a good option off the bench.

Park from the middle is vastly different to Park on the wing.

Also, he's one of those players that gives you a shift irrespective of his form, which is a tick in his favour for this sort of game.

I'd suggest that Giggs being on the bench against Rangers is a strong indicator that he'll get the nod. Him, Scholes and Fletcher in the middle of the park would be a good selection imo.

There's a joke to be had there.

Rooney won't play wing, I can assure you that much.

O'Shea Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Fletcher Scholes
Nani Park Rooney
Berbatov

Kuszczak; Rafael, Evans; Gibson, Giggs; Hernandez, Owen

I can see us lining up like this. I can't really see Anderson or Obertan making the bench just yet in such an important game due to fitness and experience, so Gibson should be getting the nod. Easily interchangeable system to revert to 442, decent bench. Hopefully we'll win. Evans could start over Ferdinand, and maybe Giggs over Park, but I can't see any other major changes.

van der Sar, O'Shea, Vidic, Evra, Scholes, Nani, and Berbatov were all rested for the Rangers game I believe, so I'd be very surprised if even one of them doesn't start against Liverpool..

I think that's how Fergie will line up, switching between 451/442 every now and again with Rooney drifting left to let Giggs come in centrally.

I've already been offered £200 for my ticket for this game. I hope turning it down is the best thing I have ever done by Sunday evening. If we mess this up again, I might have to chop my season ticket in tiny small pieces.

I'd like to see that team

with rafael at right back please

Giggs and Scholes in central midfield? I'd worry about playing two players there who are over 35 to be honest.

So who would you suggest instead, Fletcher & Gibson?

What you should be more worried about is who is going to play in central midfield next season when they might both be retired.

I think we'll need to buy in, but feck knows who...

Just to see RedCafe explode. It'd still be a winning lineup tho I reckon.

Dear God, no!

Does anyone know where I can watch it in US?

I checked Fox Soccer Channel and all ESPN channels and couldn't find any coverage.

It's on Fox Soccer Plus(Setanta's new name) so you have to pay extra for it if the cable service even has it available. It's absolutely insane...where will you be? You might be able to find it on in a pub or sports bar.

Gibson does not deserve to be getting games

Rooney deserves it on past performances, form is temporary, class is permanent, Gibson has neither

Yeah, I'm not saying he shouldn't be in the squad, just that his recent performances don't really warrant his being first name on the team sheet. Rooney's a better players, but if we were playing 4-5-1 with either Berbatov or Rooney, I'd pick Berbatov on his form right now.

I'm thinking 433. Playing at OT we can afford to take some risks.

I'd like to see Park, Fletch, Scholes in the middle, with Nani, Rooney & Berbs in front of them.

I'd be happy enough with that. I'd like to see Rooney start though.
