Manchester United vs Liverpool (Sun 4th August, 00:30 UK time)

College football at the very top level offers some of the greatest sporting spectacles on the planet. South Carolina isn’t one of of the powerhouse football teams though. Whether SEC or Big 10, it’s a must see.

The injury record is a valid concern. However there’s absolutely zero doubt he is in fact miles better as an actual player.
Just because you haven't seen him a lot & told he is a lot better. Anything is better than AWB when it comes to skills on the ball, but Mazraoui isn't all that as a full back. And his injury record just makes our interest more ridiculous.

SC was a weird choice. Not sure why they didn’t go to Charlotte if they wanted to schedule something in the Carolina’s

I didn't realise college football teams didn't play American Football!

He took off Evans and Lindelof to protect against injury, they'll likely start against City  :(

I have nothing against Evans, want him in the dressing room, but that partnership is frightening.

I’ve seen enough of Wan Bissaka to know he’s absolutely nowhere near good enough. You’re judging Mazaraoui purely on his injury history rather than his quality as a player.

Highly doubt, Lisandro will start over Evans

Pre-season and all that but embarrassing performance. ETH just doesn't care for the ball.

Hoof after hoof from our defenders because there wasn't options.

Player needs to be on the pitch to show his quality. He maybe better than AWB as a player, but isn't all that. Like the other Ajax alumni from 'that batch' he hasn't done anything earth shattering since leaving them.

After less than a week of training, I doubt it. I could see some Casemiro experiment at the back if Maguire isn't fit enough though.

Oh I’m familiar with the Gamecocks and that influences my opinion. College kids are broke, and University of South Carolina isn’t exactly the prestigious institution of the south.

Tampa on the other hand has two universities, one of which has students loaded with money, and diverse community of ethnicities and income. West Ham - Palace game is practically empty… I’ve seen higher attendances at a WNBA game.
There were 77k people? You're talking like it was a City trophy parade.

One big positive was Harry Amass.
Only made a couple of mistakes, but the young kid put in a great performance against Sala.

We seriously need to tighten up defensively and in midfield if we're not adding more goals to this side going into the season.

Hard to see us scoring that many with Zirkzee as our only fit striker option, equally hard seeing us keeping many clean sheets.

Same shit but with better pressing up front.

Can't believe we are going to ignore midfield again.

The idea is that having a player like Zirkzee will mean more goals for Rashford, Bruno, Garnacho etc.

Not much time for the players returning in the last couple of days and on Monday, to be ready for next Saturday.

Thankfully, we don’t have any mid-week games to contend with in the first few weeks of the season.
We’ll need that space to get everyone up to speed, gel in new players and get injured players back.

Never seen the game but let me guess...Casemiro pedestrian, midfield non-existent and Onana at fault for all three goals?

Irrespective of what IINEOS have said in the press, ETH needs a good start in the EPL or he’ll be under huge pressure quickly !

Not a chance we are anywhere close to top 4 again if we play with this cb/ cdm setup.

I’m not sure how Onana, a leaky GK is not a catastrophic signing for 40+ million.

Now we need some defensive reinforcements just to cover for our keepers frailties

Im sorry but Onana wasnt at fault any of the goals

Injuries aside, not particularly bothered about the pre-season games. We've had several very good pre-seasons in the post Fergie era, only to be terrible once the league started.

What's important are the first 8 fixtures of the league season. If ETH doesn't get positive results early, the pressure on his job will quickly return and he could be gone in a hurry.

Maybe people were using some common sense, last I heard there was a fecking hurricane hitting FL this weekend
It's just a tropical storm, which for us is like an average late summer afternoon thunderstorm that goes a little longer.

I don't see that happening any time soon. He's not kicked a ball with them in a match, got all of 15 mins at the Euros and has a huge jump from one decent Serie A league campaign to the EPL to contend with.

Will be amazed if he hits the ground running.

Until we have players that can have a high line we're really going to struggle off the ball.

We played some decent stuff with it despite the result, but I still feel like teams will beat our press and cut through us too easily.
