Manchester United vs Liverpool (Sun 4th August, 00:30 UK time)

We’re overseas to bring in new fans and to showcase our brand while prepearing for the new season against our rivals. Why would emwe stay at home and only play lower quality teams who probably would do anything to get a win against us.
I gave reasons already pal. We could easily stay in UK and play a competition like arsenal used too,the Emirates Cup. We could play lower teams or celtic/rangers. If a tour was needed hit up Norway or Denmark etc. Do I care about new fans or brand...no. I care about utd competing in the league. And unfortunately at this moment in time our squad can't take mainoo (last preseason) yoro rasmus and possibly harry getting injured...stadiums are exactly filling either. Utd arsenal was no where near full due to prices, barca real tonight same.

Really hoping Zirkzee proves to be somewhat clinical. Sancho as a false false 9 ain't it (he ain't it in general), and I'm not particularly keen seeing Rashford up top either. Still feels like this side couldn't hit a barn door.

Amass has been brilliant this game. Have to say, he's getting better every game.
He is but he’s still going to cost us goals at elite level, he’ll be ready in a year as he develops defensively. ETH without at least 4 or 5 new squad players is going to be looking at a 40% loss rate again this season so I can see him gone by November if he doesn’t change his stubborn nature, a 50/50 game that we just can’t score is totally indicative of last season.and fans don’t think we need a proper number 9 like Toney are insane?

There wasn't that much pace on the ball, and keepers will be training to catch those types of shots from close range their entire careers.

The problem is that Onana catches nothing.
Why don't you criticise him for the ones he should catch then.

I can't believe you actually think he's meant to "catch" that.

How have we played? The stats look like we're doing alright, but 0-3 down...

Chances wise we probably are even but I think you can see the difference in the overall quality of the players and how they are better versed in their style of play. And of course they have Salah.

Is Will Fish trying to break a record for pre-season sending offs.

Edit: Feck, poor lad's injured himself.

Under Fergie we were never very good in the preseason but started the season well...so there's hope.

This isn’t Fergie and we use to play Birmingham City and Kaser Chiefs. I don’t think anyone really knows what pre season friendly’s are designed for these days. That’s for most top clubs.

Not sure if it’s him or ETH but the fact that we bought an elite ball playing GK just to have him hoof it the majority of the time is fecking maddening to me

Is he actually that good at ball playing though? Sure, he's comfortable recieving the ball and certainly doesn't panic, and his short passing is good, but any passes in the mid- to long-range are very hit and miss.

We've played fine considering alot of our 11 aren't going to be starters, especially the defence. But the general play has looked good, we just didn't take our chances when we were in good positions.

I agree. I don’t want any name-calling, bile or any negative sentiment against Scott, he just isn’t a good enough player to be at the club. We need better footballers.
I’m a big McTominay fan. Always gives full effort for the club and has come up with some critical goals. But, he’s got some limitations and we can improve on him.

Knife through butter, better to have it now than the actual season. Lick our wounds and make sure we beat them when we play them in a few weeks.

Using the data we have available to us, it'll be the same way during the season.

What is the issue with our past it midfielders giving away hospital balls and causing our players to get injured?

Last year with Casemiro and Mainoo. Now Eriksen and Fish ffs.

Not always, both in our Treble and Double winning season, we've started poorly, however we'd turn it up around late November and finish very strongly.

We started well last season in preseason and look how we finished. Oh wait...

I used to live in South Carolina. The humidity other there is something else, we're talking 95% or higher. I can only imagine how our lads are feeling like. You can tell just by looking at their shirts. Hopefully we can finish this game in one piece and no injuries.

Edit: as writhe this Fish is being taken off ffs

Its hard to have any confidence in him. But as you say, we're stuck with him since ETH chose the likes of him and Antony as hills to die on.

Yep, here we are with some really dubious acquisitions that will take a number of years to see them off at the end of their contracts.

Just fecking typical. Our only defender, who actually looked like he had a 'good' game gets injured

They seem too happy.

And we pick up another injury.

Season hasn't even started and our CB injury crisis is in full swing. What a joke.

We’re having storms down here in the Carolina’s, so temps are in the low 70’s., so not too bad.

Thank feck this is our last game in this cursed tour with their dumpster fire pitches. Another full week of this and half the team will be in the treatment room come the start of the season.

Well, we’ve started early with our CB injury crisis.
Yoro and Fish out and Harry doubtful.

Same major CM problem and we can’t score goals….
I’m getting a bit of Deja vu !

Amass is going to be fine. He has shut down Salah in this game multiple times. And the game becomes 50/50 because we have players out there who are poor in possession and needlessly give the ball away. We all know who they are.

And no, I don't think we need Toney. I don't rate him and think he's way overrated. Hojlund and Zirkzee are fine. If it was Hojlund at the end of some of those chances today, I bet he would have had a hattrick.

I was in North Carolina a few years ago in early August. It felt like someone was pouring boiling water on me…even at 9am.

The genius who decided to play a match in that part of the US in August should be taken to the woodshed.

I can't call any performance where you're 3 down "positive". We have had chances though

I actually think there’s far more to be positive about in this game than negative about. Said issues obviously persist but we are missing all our best players.

AWB playing without being subbed? Feels like an undue risk for a player that we are reported to being close to sell..
