Manchester United vs Lens (Sat 5th August, 12:45 UK time)

Every time I got to a football match in England it baffles me they sell alcohol inside the stand but you can't take it to your seat. I know it's been in place for like 30 years but it's absolute madness.

Either sell it and allow it at your seats or don't sell it at all. Such a weird rule.

Funnily enough though they sell Jack and coke and the stewards just assume you are drinking normal coke. So essentially only Pints or obvious alcohol isn't allowed to your seats. Kind of defeats the entire purpose.

They don’t expect such wicked deception

Glad I didn't manage to get tickets for Dublin now!

And yet when you go to watch rugby they give you a holder to carry 4 or 6 pints to your seat.

German clubs have demand for their tickets but they still try to make them affordable.
And you wonder why German clubs can't compete with English clubs. Player wages and transfer fees don't pay themselves.
The club needs to generate as much income as possible.

Kind of understand our Irish fans are disappointed but I thought it was pretty obvious we get the First XI in our only home preseason game - should still be a decent team tomorrow, not like the kids at Wrexham anyway

Never any guarantees in preseason of who you going to see

Yeah, the mistake is two fixtures. It's just greed and stupidity. I doubt anybody has any complaints regarding the footballing logic.

How many of the team have played a full 90? You’ve got to believe most will here

There's gunna be some Mount and Antony hype after this game. Can feel it.

That's the team that's playing against Wolves then. A bit surprised Garnacho was included over Sancho. Wondering if ETH intends to mainly use Rashford as our striker for the start of the season before gradually introducing Hojlund into the team.

Very much expect this to be our first XI next week. If we see bad performances, could see AWB in for Dalot or one of Sancho/Højlund for Garnacho but think everyone else are guaranteed starters.

The sooner Hojlund tales that spot the better. Rashford is not a good striker. Much better on the left as everyone knows

I mean you probably want to give players as much game time as possible. And probably a few of tomorrows team will be in the shop window. Just it’s a crazy price to go see what is essentially the reserve side. Don’t know if it’s down to United or to the FAI. Probably both are looking to make a few quid.

We had 2 games in 2 days last year too - I assume Ten Hag wants this to give the whole squad a run out

It's a fecking disgrace to charge fans that money to see the reserves. Full stop. It has feck all to do with game time.

AFAIK the club get paid a fee to play and it's the local promoter who sets the ticket prices
