Manchester United vs Leeds (Wed 12th July, 16:00 UK time)

Official website:

Fred's omission is purely a precaution and because he is managing his workload, after returning for training at Carrington last week.

Sure.

Having Mount does mean we can now finally give Bruno a rest occasionally at least.

A question for our Norwegian fans here: does the connection with United go back before Ole and Ronnie? we’ve had decades of unbridled support from Norway with hordes of fans taking that trip to Manchester every year. But they’ve stuck around well beyond the glory years and it’s still strong. I’ve seen many a fan base dwindle in the past decade. So just curious.

Mainoo, Fernandez, Forson... Hidden chance could be there, as first squad still somewhat resembling Swiss cheese.

 love this comment, it's so cynical (and true).
I am personally looking forward to seeing Sancho killin it on the pitch.
I was being (half) facetious, but really it is exciting to see the next talent to show their worth to United. Mainoo seems to be bulkier and still maintain that graceful and skillful shape to his game, at least on the training ground. He is the one to look for this coming season, IMHO.

English football and teams like Liverpool and United are really big in the whole of Scandinavia, so yes.

Did the presenter just call Brown and O'Shea for legends? Cult figures for sure, not sure about legends.

English football has been a mainstay in Norway since the late 60's, when the first match was on TV (think in 69). It's more popular than Norwegian football. United and Liverpool go back and forth between having the biggest number of members in the supporter clubs. Liverpool has been the biggest for a few years though. There are fanclubs for 58 English clubs in Norway.

Not sure about that, they'll mostly be playing together, unless you mean it frees up Eriksen to rotate with him?
Well yeah his versatility lets us rotate more is all I meant, Bruno and Eriksen no longer have to play every game.

Pre-season without Crerand complaining about the amount of subs doesn’t feel like pre-season at all.

So many empty seats. No wonder when fairly average tickets cost over £100.

Would be surprised, as I think ten hag wants to see Amad in the position where he'll actually be used for rotation if he is kept. If he plays at 9 then he's definitely gonna go out on loan again IMO.
I don’t really see it that way. I don’t think Amad would have to play in his best position for the manager to assess him, particularly when he values flexibility so much.

Looks like I was right anyway. MUTV have him at centre forward.
