I think its because Ole was very naive and wanted to give our players a chance. Either that, or the board didn't back him. That said, we were interested in getting Dybala so the interest was definately there.

It doesn't exactly paint him in a positive light if he was naive enough to think our current options would ever be good enough for such an important role does it? We can go the board route, which we'll never know the answer to i guess. To me, our interest in a 10 was never significant all summer. We were linked to Bruno all summer in the press but nothing came of it. I was giddy with the Dybala interest but that never materialised under the very end and that was only a byproduct of the potential Lukaku deal. Anyway, that's all water under the bridge now. Got to get on with it now either way.
