Manchester United Vs Bayern Munich

The miss will come back to haunt us, just like it did in Madrid last year. Still not a bad performance and DDG has just had one save to make.

Sake. Should be 2-0. Really can't see fault with the disallowed goal. Welbeck fluffed the 2nd chance. Just hammer it.

Bayern have had all the possession and have completed around 7 million passes, but haven't really threatened except for that Robben curler form distance.

Jones has been sweeping up brilliantly. But then he falls over, in true Jones fashion.

This lot are definitely there for the taking. Less stupidity from Welbeck and more composure from Rooney and we'd be 2-0 up. We've limited Bayern as well. Good stuff, 1st goal of the 2nd half will determine this tie.

We've done a number on them. Kept it pretty tight. For all their possession we look Ok.

However we have to do much better on the ball. Can't let them have so much of it because they'll eventually find a way through.

They're away from home, we need to win here

Need Rooney much more involved. They've obviously prepared for him, and not Wellbeck.

We've done well so far and could easily have been 1-0 up with that chance for Welbeck.

One thing that really annoyed me was Fellaini giving the ball away constantly, he had absolutely no composure. He worked hard so it didn't affect us too much but that aspect of his game needs to improve in the second half as it ruined several possible counter attacks.

Really happy with that first half, a tad worried about the tiredness though, we can't keep this up for 90 minutes.

I've barely seen Giggs, might be worth to bring Kagawa on something around the hours mark.

They dominated us. We're trying to hit them with quick counters. Welbeck should have scored

Bayern look poor, why don't they ever shoot? their philosophy might be allowing them to dominate but they're not hurting us in the slightest. Welbeck is a key player in these big games, his athleticism is impressive. Not a bad half to be fair, #inmoyeswetrust

Some of you need to shut up with the Welbeck abuse. Seriously. He did brilliantly to get onto the through ball and Neuer did brilliantly to stand up to the save. Most other keepers and that would've worked. We'd be lauding Danny for a wonderful finish. He's done that before with great success.

The shot was too weak, Martinez would have caught up and cleared it before it even reached the line. It was a terrible effort.

We've defended well in our own box... Not very satisfying watching this but whatever. Welbeck really made a mess out of that finish too.

Giggs has been a bit useless. Fellaini has been awful, it's actually a little funny at how far off the pace he is. Carrick has done well, actually passes it to a united player so that's good.

We've done well - the complaints in here are ridiculous; what where some of you expecting, us to out-play them or even try and make it an open game? That would be suicidal.

Welbeck has no bottle in one-on-one's, otherwise, we'd be up 1-0 at the half despite all of their possession.

Ahhh, if only Welbeck could have kept his composure. The lad over complicates things.

Well, I love Welbeck and I think with the right coach he can turn into a world beater. That move at the start is evidence of that, should have been allowed too. He looked very bright in the first 10mins, since then we've looked tired and our passing is rushed, similar to when we faced Barca...

Struggling too come too terms with how we aren't winning. Very proud of the lads from that half.
I agree they really were going for it. But the team talk will change that because they will he hearing all the useless instructions. Hi

Superb half (well, considering what we expected). Bayern have barely created anything at all, we've had the biggest chance plus a couple of decent ones.

Hopefully we can keep it up in the second half. They are vulnerable on the counter against Welbeck's pace.

Agreed.Fletcher for fellaini, maybe?
Depending on Fletchers form. If he is at Fellainis fitness level then sure. But even as a headless chicken Fellaini covers a lot of ground.
He had that pass to Rooney, and the last 5 minutes he did improve defensively.
All in all i think we should be more than happy with the first half.
Again, considering the quality of the opponent.

I'm quite unsure about what to do with Valencia, he has that yellow card but he is important when we play as defensively as we do, and he is by far the best player to have on the right to keep the ball in the team, despite him being as one-footed. I'm afraid he might end up with a red.

The miss will come back to haunt us, just like it did in Madrid last year. Still not a bad performance and DDG has just had one save to make.

I was thinking that when Neuer palmed it away. The Van Persie volley replayed in my head and I thought to myself...Hope we don't regret this later.

Still all to play for, though we're giving the ball away far too easily in midfield. Can we have Kroos please?

Got into it more as the game progressed. Bayern not making many clear opportunities despite big posession periods. Decent shape, and solid defending by us. Didnt hold ball at all well at the start, much better towards the end of the half. Welbeck should have us ahead though.

We are Stokeing them. Their movement is superb but we are digging in and have kept them to one long range effort. Shame Danny didn't just go for a the straight forward finish.

We're doing much better than I thought we would. Should really have a goal, that high boot call was very harsh

Buttner shocking ex expected, Fellaini as bad as him.

Rio and Vidic played like in old time while Danny was probably our best player if it wasn't for that braindead thing he did in the end.

Neither have been shocking, if they had it wouldn't be 0-0. Really don't get the Fellaini hate on here he was fine, didn't do anything great but didn't do too much wrong.

We've played a lot better than any of us thought we would, we're set-up well.

Fletcher really should get on for Fellaini if it's 0-0 after 60 mins.

Defensively they are actually pretty poor so far and in attack they love to fanny about with it. I'm quite liking our direct approach when we get the ball, we know we can't hold possession so we are trying to hit fast and hard and we could be a couple up.
