We actually look a more solid team away from home this season which is very surprising given our performances here last year.

Nonsense! There's no problem with tempo. There's a problem with players sitting off in midfield. Can be sorted.

That's clearly what I'm suggesting.
We're just lacking a bit of composure and balance really, a problem we've had all season. Some players like jones are just a bit gung go and over run with the ball and we're getting sucked into playing a really quick passed game. We are better at a quicker tempo but we can do it more controlled then that.
Rooneys been an issue, his goal was good but his passing has been very poor today and the problem is if he's playing in this crucial playmaking role more often then not he's gonna be making a key pass and if he gets it wrong we're gonna lose the ball. I guess it goes back to what I've said before about him. Other top players can have off days where they don't quite make that final ball but with Rooney he really struggles with the basics on an off day.
Balance is another issue, we don't rely have a style we're working too as lots of the players have different ideas. Having said that I think we can clearly get through them if we want we just need more composure. I think it's important to remember that whilst they may be a young team they're also a team who have played together for a long time and in their set positions. We have a lot of players coming in who haven't played as much so there's not that same understanding, particularly in the crucial position if centre mid

I actually thought Jones started off quite well, won the ball about 4 times in the first 15 minutes and made a few good runs forward, but wasnt found by Rooney. He's dipped from then though and was awful for their goal.
I hope he does spend, Cleverley has had a lot of pressure put on him and you can't guarantee he will stay fit, Fletch has a big problem, that might limit his appearance next season, depending on his health. If we let another window go by with no reinforcements, Fergie's wish for another CL will never happen.
There's no reason not to change it now with us struggling so badly. It will be game over really quickly if we don't.

Hes also been incredibly overrated here. You need positional awareness to play any position except for in a midfield 3 or as a midfield 2 if you play with Carrick. Until Jones learns positional discipline he will be a liability.
West Bromwich, for one, are significantly inferior to Athletic Bilbao. We'll also play Wigan or Fulham at Old Trafford etc.
