Jones' performance is probably the worst I have seen from any United-player this season. Does he not UNDERSTAND the concept of being a defensive midfielder ?

Not a good performance. We scored because we took advantage of the situation, solely because of Giggs and Hernandez. Rooney has scored but has seriously been underperforming. If it weren't for him Park could have scored as well so it's even easier to criticize him.

They've absolutely hammered us. If this is how we play in Europe (yes I know Carrick is missing) maybe it's a good thing we didn't progress in the CL.
Barcelona raped us in those two finals. We didn't trouble Villarreal either.

Totally outplaying us, they are are a very good side on the ball and work it around. We are feeding off the minimal mistakes they make.

We need to step it up in the second half though. They have edged us out here. Fergie needs to give a big half time team talk and get the players to produce more. In particular the amount of wasted passes by Rooney is shocking. Too many of our attacks have ended that way. Athletic Bilbao are no mugs.

Good game this, they deserve the goal of course but we are dangerous on the break. They have some very good players in Muniain, Llorente, Martinez, Iraiola etc.

Definitely. Its shocking how poor our midfield is at giving cover to the CBs when we dont play Carrick. Imagine if he got a long-term injury.
We are being outplayed big time here. Jones is all over the place, movement and passing are horrible. Back four kept them at bay for a while but our defenders have been under huge pressure for 135 minutes now.
Also, our reliance on Carrick is scary. He needs to be brought on ASAP.

What position should Jones play in? He's pretty useless in the middle, doesn't seem to know what his role is, and gets caught out of position almost every time.
Feels like we're the away side. A real quality team. Can't get near them at times. Feels like we're going out.
Saved it of course...as well as solving the economic issues of the world. Least I expect from my keeper

Outplayed and lucky not to be behind so far. Another disappointing European home game. Hope we can turn it around in the second half, because I don't think we've had a single competent performance at home in Europe this season, and it's very frustrating to watch again and again.
