United set to make one change
The early suggestion is Marouane Fellaini will come in for Ander Herrera, which was a possible change touted on the M.E.N. earlier today.

That would reunite Fellaini and Paul Pogba as the United midfield axis. It worked a couple of times and failed abysmally in the September derby. Mourinho might be able to get away with it tonight.

Lest we forget Mourinho referred to Fellaini as Pogba’s ‘natural replacement’ in November.

Fellaini has not started since the FA Cup win over Wigan.

Knew this thread was going way too smoothly

Fellaini and Pogba midfield got taken apart by Watford we can't allow those two to play with eachother again.

Not sure I like the idea of Fellaini at 6 at all, definitely not in a 2 man midfield but as long as he presses well and keeps cool we'll be fine. His physical presence always gives us a back up plan, Herrera could do with a rest really.

    Excellent.

This means Pogba will play even deeper, Fellaini won't be trusted with the 6 role.

Both way to slow and ponderous on and off the ball to play together. Hopefully still should be enough to beat this side though if they do play midfield together tonight.

Darmian and Blind on the squad, so probably Young to be dropped? Or is it Herrera?

Romero Valencia Bailly Smalling Blind Pogba Herrera Fellaini Mata Martial Ibra

Why Jose, why????? Hope this isn't true. Hopefully the same team that started against Watford with Rojo in for Smalling would be ideal.

    Jesus Christ on a bike!

Not liking that line up at all. Mata's best games have come with Mkhitaryan, we're not taking this tournament seriously at all.

Hopefully just a rest for mkhi..

I really hope the absence of the Mkhi is for rest and precaution, he better fecking not be injured!

Is he just resting Mkhitaryan? Not sure about that switch for Fellaini...

    Mkhitaryan comes full circle
Back in September and October he couldn’t even make a Europa League squad. Now he has been rested.

Fellaini #10? Gosh, why does he leave our best player-maker out?

Not having that Mkhi is rested. He has to be injured, Mourinho surely gives more of a feck about this than to do that. If he's rested and completely left out of the squad that's extremely disappointing in terms of taking this tournament seriously.

A 4-3-3 with no #6 and no #10, I thought the plan would be to get a big win here and rest players in the next 2 games, bizarre line-up.

That's what I don't get about Mourinho, the team was performing great lately with Mkhitaryan as #10 in a 4-2-3-1, why change?
Probably not really interested in going the whole way in the Europa, looks like he wants to focus solely on the league.
