Hopefully a large win tonight but I'm not sure whether Saint-Etienne can concede 3 goals knowing that they'll park the bus.

    ---------------------------------Soderlund---------------------------------
    Monnet Pacquet-----------------Saivet------------------------Hamouma
    ---------------------------Pajot----------Veretout-------------------------
    Pogba------------Théophile Catherine-----Perrin-----------------Malcuit
    ----------------------------------Ruffier------------------------------------
It'll be interesting to see if they do use a back 3 if they indeed "park the bus"; It will be even more interesting (if they employ a back 3) how we try to overcome the system ... and good practice for Chelsea, Tottenham and any/all other teams we come up against this season using this ever-popular line-up.

Can a win be a loss?

Or in your case, can a loss be a win?

Of course not. Progressing in EL will give us confidence in the League. We have a squad big enough to be able to rotate. I'd rather give up on the fa cup and play the kids/second squad and focus on PL and EL.

Have you read that the wrong way round? Ruffier is the keeper

    Ffs..and fair dues to St.Etienne
Also we were banned from selling tickets for the game, in the match before United played at Plymouth they gave out vouchers , to try and fill the ground with Plymouth fans to stop any more trouble.
I cant remember how many United fans made it to the game but there was not one arrest in the game.

Is Shaw in this video anywhere and who is the english coach who is leading the session? I dont remember one on staff.

Martial really looks a loner, didn't see him minimally interact with another player during the video. Same can be said of Mkhitaryan, but at least this one has a smile to show.

Unless Blind or Mkhitaryan are shockingly absent, who's going to be dropped of the 18 squad, Darmian, Schweinsteiger or Young? If I was the manager, I would no doubt pick Darmian.

So any early team news ?
I hope schweinsteiger starts and Rashford as central striker (but i fear none will happen).

So happy with the lack of early team news to be honest. Got sick of the leaks during the past years, that's not how a dressing room should function.

I think the chance of Schweinsteiger starting is close to zero, just can't see it.

Why would you fear Rashford not starting as a striker? This is very big game against a solid defence, probably the worst game to play him in when you have Ibrahmiovic there who spent the last four years scoring for fun against French teams.

Have no idea what we can expect from St. Etienne. Anyone have a clue?

Don't watch them but looking at their results and statistics, they seem like they're gonna be difficult to beat. PSG and Monaco both drew 1-1 against them, and they've only conceded 19 in 25 games in the league.

Still, Feyenoord have a fantastic record in their league too and we still beat them 4-0 at home so who knows.

I figure the same lineup with Rojo in for Blind and maybe Rashford in for Martial. Or maybe we go back to 433 with Carrick and dropp Mata, if Mourinho respects them. Maybe even Fellaini will be somewhere in there.

Any team starting with Søderlund on top can't be all that.

Also if I am not mistaken I think they've got Selnes

A boring game, they have that incredible ability to propagate dullness.
Thank you gents. Imagine Søderlund scoring

    I'm expecting a scrappy 2-1 then.

    Zlatan's record:

9 wins, 2 draws, 2 defeats with the 9 wins coming consecutively.

What time should we expect line ups? About 19:05?

United set to make one change
The early suggestion is Marouane Fellaini will come in for Ander Herrera, which was a possible change touted on the M.E.N. earlier today.

That would reunite Fellaini and Paul Pogba as the United midfield axis. It worked a couple of times and failed abysmally in the September derby. Mourinho might be able to get away with it tonight.

Lest we forget Mourinho referred to Fellaini as Pogba’s ‘natural replacement’ in November.

Fellaini has not started since the FA Cup win over Wigan.

Keeping a clean sheet and still managing to score 3 or 4 goals would be a enormous sign of maturity from the team.

Perhaps Mourinho thinks United can't do without Herrera against Blackburn away, but can't see much logic in this otherwise. Saint-Étienne didn't seem that physically imponent.

    Oh fecking hell.

Please, please boys, win tonight. Just came home from hospital, doctor said "no stress" I replied " Right, from 11 pm on, hopefully". Seriously thinking not to watch the game!, but I know it will be almost impossible, speccially when it is on national tv, so please, please WIN! Thanks.

Tbf. I can understand Herrera being rested, his three-lung kung-fu is very demanding over a season. I reckon he is consistently the player that covers the most ground for us.
