Manchester United vs. Arsenal

so we have sudddenly become crap over a week??

against Liverpool it was a combination of poor tactics and a brain fart by Nani. Plus him going off did not help things.

We played as well as we have ever played this season in teh first half against Chelsea. We allowed them to come at us and the ref did not help matters.

We will be fine against Arsenal. They will be OK too.

It will be a good game. But we have home advantage. ;)

I really cant call this. Arse will put a full strength side out and will be trying to momentum back into their season..... as will we, hopefully we willl just out muscle them as we did in the league match where Arse were simply awful.

I find it difficult to weigh up. You'll have one eye on Marseilles and have Nani out, we gave a lot on Tuesday and will probably rest a few.

With Fergie saying we'll play the strongest team...

I don't know what sort of team Fergie is gonna put out with the number of bodies currently out and Marseille 3 days later

Anderson would have been very useful tomorrow, he's simply the one player in our side that bullies the Arse midfield. Interesting to see if Berbatov play in this, he almost never start against Arse in a United shirt

Complete myth. You've been superior to us in recent years, but Anderson is not the reason why. He's been OK, nothing special against us.

Fletcher has caused them more problems in recent seasons than Anderson.

If thats how the teams line up, Arse would fancy themselves

probably line up as a 4-3-3

There's a reason why Fergie almost always starts Anderson against your lot when he's available. Your midfield can't deal with his physicality and drive

Think we'll go with:

VDS

RAFAEL
VIDIC
SMALLING
EVRA

FLETCHER
CARRICK
SCHOLES

GIGGS
BERBATOV
ROONEY

Although, I can't see Rooney playing on the right wing.

Giggs hasn't been very good the last few matches. We should play with Rafael and Fabio on the wings just for this game so it provides defensive cover along with the ability to go forward.

Probably O'Shea will move to leftback with Evra push to the wing

Fergie did this before and it pretty much works

MOgdenTelegraph If Man Utd-Arsenal goes to a replay, looks like it'll be played next Friday night.

So the Bolton game will be postponed?

When was the last time we had Friday evening game in England?

Basically we need to get the job done tomorrow as Arsenal would have the upper hand against us at their place having had the midweek off.

Tottenham played Wigan in a 3rd round tie a few years back on a Friday night.

The original time for the potential replay for this game was next weekend, with the league games postponed.
Good memory, Ali.

Arsenal website had potential FA Cup replay dates earlier this season and it's 23th March here, but we were said it's impossible with international break after next weekend.

And now, at Arsenal website there's no mention that their WBA match will be postopned if they are to play replay at Emirates.

Nick Coppack saying on Twitter Friday is "a real possibility".

You're joking his head gasket blows after 60 minutes.

Playing Marseille on Tuesday and then Arsenal 3 days later? No chance we would win that imo. I hope there's a result tomorrow night, one way or the other.

It's better to have a chance to win even three days after Marseille than have no chance, isn't it?

I think it's all about priority. It would not be great for our title challenge to have yet another match and for another game to be postponed. We're anyway struggling with injuries right now. Last thing we need is Arsenal away just 3 days after Marseille.

Our run of games would then have been:

Marseille (A), Wigan (A), Chelsea (A), Liverpool (A), Arsenal (H), Marseille (H), Arsenal (A) and West Ham (A) after that. That's a horrible run of fixtures.

Yes, I know, but I also don't think Fergie would give up so easily and would take a loss than a draw tomorrow. But hopefully, he doesn't even think about it and a win tomorrow is the only choice for us.

That run of games would be even worse with Bolton on Monday (if there's replay on Friday).

Bolton would be on Monday? Then I most definitely don't want a draw! 3 days in 6 games is not ideal. We know what happened the last time.

But how can the Bolton game be Monday with Internationals the next day?

Can't we just agree to go to extra time and then go to penalties rather than an extra game? Neither side wants a replay.

Internationals are in the weekend of 26/27 and mid-week 29/30 March. Bolton may be on Monday 21th, but it's only an assumption.

23th March was previously planned for replays, I'm sure FA knew there will be internationals and Champions League between quarter and semifinals of FA Cup.

I don't know why it couldn't be Tuesday, 23th.
