Young, strong, athletic and not a massive fanny. Seems a decent passer of the ball too. Would start every game in midfield for us.

If we're wanting a young CM/DM then i'd be going for Geis ahead of Kondogbia, but he's certainly impressed today.
We were strongly linked a couple of years back if I recall. I watched him a lot for Sevilla in La Liga but the only time I have seen him for Monaco was yesterday - despite how poor Arsenal were he still looked a talent, like William Carvalho but much more composed. If he is available as Monaco are apparently looking to reduce costs he would certainly improve us.
He doesn’t always plays for Monaco this year because in Ligue 1, Leonardo Jardim tends to play more a 4-2-3-1 with Moutinho and Toulalan as the two CM. He’s talented it’s true and did a great game, but I would rather wait until the end of season to see if he can manage to repeat this kind of performance.
As an alternative for Strootman, young left footed central midfielder box to box this can be a good option and not very cheap (Even if we’ve heard some bad stuff about his behavior).

Yes I would like to see him on TV in the next leg and the quarters barring an Arsenal miracle. I don't know too much about the french league to be honest so that's interesting if not always a starter, Toulalan is a good player mind used to see a lot of him in Lyon days in CL, can't say I know much of Jardim.
I think with Strootman needing surgery again and the fact that Falcao is still nowhere near fit enough after major knee surgery I'd be hoping we don't go for him in Summer.

I tend to trust Arsene especially when it comes to French players so I found it strange especially after his great performances in U20 tournament alongside Pogba (still a sore subject that). I thought he'd snap him straight up.
Dembele is a very good player when he wants to be, far too inconsistent. Wanyama has also proven himself a good player to be fair. Southampton did well gambling on him from Celtic.

Hummels, a RB, Depay and maybe a striker(only if we continue playing 2 strikers most of the games) would be a very good summer.
Just watched Laporte for Bilbao, actually pretty impressed with him. Takes some of their free kicks as well.
I'm a big fan too, but I think we might be looking for a right footed CB to pair him with Rojo.
Probably, but he is better than any of our kids tbh. I look at us giving Blackett and McNair contracts and this lad is miles ahead of them.

If we are genuinely moving away from 4-3-3 it's going to be interesting to see what LvG does in regards to midfield and attack. Defense is a more simple case of adding a RCB and a LCB, hopefully one of the CB's will be from the current crop of quality young defenders Varane/Marquinhos/Gimenez/Laporte/Stones.

We need more expertise and solidity in the defence. I would say a top mature CB who can play the old sweeper role. If LVG continues with 352 or even pursue 433 I think a sweeper would give him the better option of playing it out of defence. Also With the ability to read the game like Rio.
The other top player we now desperately need is a midfield general like Alonso. A mature, strong and creative midfielder will give us better and more options.

The Express reckon Varane favours a move to us in the summer and today's' links include LvG's "4 man list" that includes Hummels, De Bruyne, Gundogan and for some unearthly reason bloody Strootman.
The Express also say that Marquinhos, Pogba and Bale have all agreed precontracts with United for July 1st.
I just made that up but in this case that makes absolutely no difference.

Strootman is as good as a cert IMO. Van Gaal loves him.

Worst case scenario he will not play at all. We tried to sign Vermaelen.
I don't care if he's van Gaal's kid, if he so much as whispers his name at a transfer meeting the board should fire him. Strootman is completely crocked and there are plenty of other options.
This is where Woodward needs to put his foot down and refuse him that request, no matter how much Van Gaal loves Strootman and insists on him. We need to be moving forward as a team, finally, after a couple of years of wandering in the wilderness, literally, and signing a crocked midfielder won't help us in that regard! We are better off grooming Herrera for that role if the likes of Koke,Verrati and Gundogun are off limits.
We were hell bent on signing Vermaelen despite knowing all his injury issues. Won't put it past us to go for Strootman.
I will never understand why LVG went for vermaelen, that was just stupidity.
If we were any other club Id be confident Strootman would fail the medical, us however......we would probably give him a 10 year contract on 250000 a week if he rocked up looking like
Depay and Vietto or Dybala would be incredible.
Its all about the SPINE for me. Well that and the Bass. Sign De Gea on the dotted line, buy Hummels, buy Pogba, buy Gundogan.

A right back. That marquee CB who hopefully will galvanize the whole defence. A physical CM who is also good on the ball, nothing special just somebody who is quick and is comfortable with the ball in tight space. Maybe a forward player who can operate on the wing as well as at 10. And finally a striker, somebody with pace is non-negotiable.
