Manchester United Kits 2018/2019

I think the kit itself is actually quite nice. If it was another club, I think it would be quite well received. The issue stems from it going away from tradition. And while I do like the red/white/black, I'm not going to get worked up over a change in shorts for one season. My one criticism would probably be I wish the colour was swapped on the socks having more black than red.

Again? Black shorts have never been part of the standard home kit. They've only ever been worn away from home before.

Was speaking about the odd occasion that we had to wear black shorts to prevent kit clashes, made the kit look better.

In other news, Juve also commemorating our first European trophy, thanks Adidas

This post is a bit misleading given our kit is navy blue and the Juve one is black/dark grey. The stylised use of flash on the two sets of promotional photos make the kits look way more similar than they actually are under normal circumstances. Of course the patterns on them look similar and I can understand some frustration about that but that has more to do with adidas's Parley campaign than anything nefarious. Here's a better picture of the Juve kit:

Edit:
And I've added a like for like comparison of the United Kit for reference:

I swear it's like some of you need to be angry at the club – you're out here posting outright falsehoods just to whip people into a frenzy over trivial shite.

Third kit with cup numbers and CL patches for me. Pogba #6

I don’t like our first kit, and the pink one looks cheap.

Was just for jokes, didn't mean bring out more negativity than there is already. I should have known better, sure

Exactly. Every single one of Nike's teams have a variation on the same template for their home shirts.
It's just moaning for mornings sake really.

Our home template is completely unique but if it was generic people would moan.

A crop top you mean? Not everyone can pull off that style.

Wouldn't be that odd...I could see it become a hipster trend heh

C'mon mate, they didn't even change the model wearing the bloody shirt

You name dropped only Adidas.

Because they're the ones who designed both shirts, so ?

That's when Nike announced Chelsea kits :

Chelsea shirt is so bad. Actually starting to feel glad we cut ties with Nike with this rate.

Did I dropped Adidas name here or was just mentioning the ones who designed the shirt ?

You criticised Adidas for doing something every sponsor does.

Anyway, we both agree. All of them do it and it's lazy or clever. They still make bank!

Remember when we was with Nike and everyone moaned wishing we were with Adidas? Now we're with them and people still moan!

Isn't it a pre-season tradition? Don't remember the last time majority liked a new kit.

I've hated the latest Nike templates, Adidas has been doing a good job IMO. Their first kit after Nike is one of my favorites. Puma, Umbro and NB have been pretty horrible too. The new home one is very different and will get time to get used to it. Next summer, new kits and we go again!

So am I the only one on Redcafe who thinks the home shirt is class?

I like it too.

Will definitely get 1 and the pink one as well.

Just need to figure out which player to put on the back. Might just get another Pogba jersey and someone else.

Macron have probably been the best kit supplier this year. The new Nice and Lazio jerseys are quality and even their lower tier teams are getting great jerseys.

It looks very good with the black fading into the shorts. I like it, and I'm even considering buying it!

I NEVER meant that there was a conspiracy about the "fit" of the jersey (I was moaning about the bad photoshopping). My original post complained that the black lines at the base will visually make our players look pregnant (read fat) when other teams had slimming panels at the side and enhancing chest ornaments.

In fact this could be worse with a body-hugging fit … Luke!

Maybe this shirt is why Luke Shaw has a 6 pac and has upped his game. He looked in the mirror and realised holy shite he looks fat.

Good work Adidas they have single handedly brought Shaw back to business!

Adult shirt is £64.99 in SportsDirect. Kids is £44.99.

That won't stop the papers reporting this mythical sky high price that parents HAVE to pay, though...

Are you sure its not like the England shirt with two versions? I.e.original and replica?

Watching the first pre-season game, the kit looks fine on the players. Not sure what all the fuss was about.

To be fair on @sewey89, it was listed at £64.99 when he posted that.

The traditional Caf's drunken designer mentality. Happens every season mate.

Kit looks fine on the pitch with the players. Definitely not going to get one though as I still think it looks shite up close, but fine on tv.

For sure but it's been extra toxic this time around. I guess it's a sign of the times.

"I have great taste! Adidas designers have no clue and stealing a living with their so called designs!! Macron, Umbro should be our kit sponsor."
Best taste ever.

To be fair to Adidas they have actually given us something different than last year to buy. The last couple of seasons the home kits have been so similar there was no real need to have 3 different home kits since 2015 because the changes were so few.
All praise our capitalist overlords!

Looks like a darker red as well. I'm not on about the lower black strips giving off a darker look but the actual red top half. I think it's too dark and reminds of other teams rather than the United red. That's looking at the highlights of the Club America game, maybe the lighting was off.

I usually love the old red shirt and black shorts but this looks quite dull.

Favourite kit for a long time, but I've always preferred the black shorts.
