New Miguel Delaney piece says Van Gaal wants Strootman this January and a centre back too.
For once we have a clear strategy, we only sign players with recent knee injuries, after Strootman we are going for Alaba and Thiago.

Delaney says:
1. Both us and Chelsea have received encouragement from Varane's camp but nothing will happen there until the summer.
2. Van Gaal wants Strootman now.
3. We're also looking to get a CB. Hummels and Godin are the prime targets (though both are unlikely), Schar is a back-up option, as is Vlaar (except we were put off by the price Villa wanted), while we're also monitoring Laporte.

Godin is extremely unlikely right now imo, they are in the CL and are fighting for La Liga. We would have to tempt him with ridiculous wages if we want him in Jan. On Hummels I dont know, BVB arent doing well but it would be a dick move for him as captain to abandon ship.
I would rather have Shar now and Varane in the summer, both very young and capable. Varane will be world class imo.
Didn't we come out with the same increasingly confident guff in the summer?
He looked very good today, I must admit. Can anyone explain to me why we aren't looking at lacazette. Would be so annoyed if he ends up at arsenal as reports suggest.
He's exactly the striker we need, young, fast, quality finisher and would cost half of what Falcao would cost probably half in wages too. We should try get him. He looks ready to make a step up.
I am not even looking forward to new signings as now I am quite sure it's not the players which is our biggest problem, but LVG and his tactics.
If the defenders know he doesn't trust them, it's no wonder they are playing like rabbits in headlights. He has to do some business if he likes it or not or things won't improve. That lot will not stay fit.Nah, it's the defence as clear as day, he just does not trust them which is why he is playing this 3-5-2, if we could get a half decent CB in, and a RB that can stay fit then we'll be good to go, either with the diamond, or 4-3-3.
Just hope we can do some business in the next couple of weeks, top four could depend on it.

Raphael Honigstein said on the European Football Show earlier that Hummels not likely this window, but possibility in the summer. That is the first time I have heard him give us a sniff of a chance of getting him.Hummels/Godin/Otamendi/Laporte in that order, if we could get one of those in January i would be over the moon! It would give us a huge boost.

I do worry with Hummels that'll we'll just over pay for a player that is more name, than substance, not saying he's crap but then again I'm not too sure he's that fantastic.
For once, just fecking once, can we buy players we need and that can improve us.
Schnielderlin was excellent today, he is exactly what we need, literally the perfect midfielder for us. He is available, wants to leave and we can probably get him for under £30million, but we probably won't even bid for him. Hell even paying a extra premium for him would easily be worth it, we can massively strengthen the midfield whilst weakening a top 4 rival. If LvG let's him go to Arsenal, L'pool or Spurs then he can feck off because we aren't getting Vidal and Strootman is basically another Falcao right now.
Same with Coleman, Everton could desperately use the money to strenghten and Coleman would add a completely new dimension to the team, he can beat players, put in accurate pin point crosses in the box, pass, got great pace and most importantly he is sound defensively.
Expect a deadline day bid for Ibrahimovic or something though.
The only thing mentioning it on Twitter is one of them rubbish transfer rumour accounts. Most likely bollocks.http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/419515/Man-United-Aymeric-Laporte-transfer-news
Not sure if this was posted already or not. Not sure what reports in Spain they are referring to. Interesting that he was a boyhood United fan.
It's The Daily Star, of course it's bollocks!
Well not really as they are quoting reports from Spain.
Unfortunately with the daily star that is more likely to of came from Pedro the bar tender from Alicante then anyone respectable
There's no need to have a dig at Pedro like that.Unfortunately with the daily star that is more likely to of came from Pedro the bar tender from Alicante then anyone respectable
What about Pogba? I think if we want to spend big on a player then he's the guy. Only 21 so would have plently of resale value, he's an ex United player (good or bad, don't know). Surely £50million would secure his services, Juventus aren't exactly loaded either and might look to sell.
