Manchester United - January 2018 Ins and Outs

Quality retort :lol:...!!

If there is any truth to the rumours, then Jose has £80M burning a hole in his pocket.
This could make sense and be the Griezmann money put aside from last Summer, so maybe it is possible that he does have that budget.

I don't think its unrealistic to think that Jose could possibly land both Ozil & Rose.
Assuming they genuinely are two players that he wants.

Yes we all know how Wenger feels about Mourinho, but the fact is, Ozil will walk away for nothing in 6 months time, United could soften that blow by offering £20M now.
There are a lot of pluses for United in this one:
A hugely creative #10,
Premiership proven,
Previously worked with Mourinho,
Eligible for the Champions League, (and the FA Cup).

Luke Shaw looked fantastic last night. Has the reality of being shipped out finally hit him?
If he can continue with that type of display, I'd be all for giving him yet another chance to make it here, but we could also still sign Rose, who I think has burnt his bridges at Spurs, and we'd have that troublesome LB position well and truly taken care of with those two.

This would then mean that there is no opportunity for Blind & Darmian, and I am sure both experienced Internationals could easily be found a new club, and the money that we get for those two would effectively pay for Ozil...!!:devil:

I really think that these are the 2 players he will go for in January @Ikon . He would like to bring in others but will probably wait until the summer. He will offer for Ozil as loads of clubs will want him on a free in the summer.

I cant see us doing loads of changes in january. Maybe Shaw will leave and Rose/sandro signed.

However i wont be surprised if the club confirms that fellaini will leave at the end of the season with Leon Goretza or/and Ozil replacing him

Have we kept the receipt for Lukaku?

Badly need another reliable play maker in this side.

Weigl - Dortmund now being in the Europa League and not looking so pretty in the league. We are an attractive option. Should either Matic or Pogba be out he could step in and we wouldn’t crumble to pieces.

Alex Sandro - If there’s any truth to his availability then we must sign him. He’s world class.

Furthermore, I just hope we sort Ozil’s pre-contract out as we can start negoating for Summer.

According to Delaney, he's a January target for us. But then again, it's Delaney.

This is going to be unpopular, but the first player out of the door should be the serial cheat Herrara. His appalling dive on Sunday said it all, & brings disrepute to the club. Incredibly many on here actually wanted him to be Captain in the summer. I cannot think of anyone worse, & would even prefer Fellaini. He is talked of as a hard man, but reminds me more of a school bully type, who likes handing it out, but cries like a baby when someone does the same. If a hard man actually stood up to him, I can imagine him turn yellow & running away. Only an average player anyway.

Surely we'll sign something this January. It was a big mistake not doing so last season

Wenger is too stubborn to let Ozil go in January. I hope we get a right sided winger in and wait for the summer for a ten.

Can't wait for Mikhi the weakling to leave. Hope Fellaini stays.

its been Herreras worst season because we played him as a deep lying defence midfielder, in ever other season before that Herreras role was alot more attacking and thats when you could see he was head and shoulders above anyone of our central midfielders (till Pogba) when it came to defence splitting passes and attacking threat.

Jose has completely changed his game this season and made him into a more defensive mid who's only job is to break up play and pass the ball to the attackers whilst maintaining defence position at all times.

But he played as a the furthest back defensive midfielder last season which was his best. If anything this season he has more freedom to get forward as he is playing with Matic. Last season has been his best and his attacking was basically non existent.

He is a bit of a shitbag tbh. He’s constantly trying to get players booked and sent off, either by physically pursuing the ref and begging him to, or by exaggerating any contact and flying through the air or rolling in the ground holding his leg.

Would be happy to let Mata and Blind go. Hope we stick with Shaw as he could be quality if he stays fit.

Would keep Mkhi unless we can get a better No.10 in.

Wait until the summer to get rid of Herrera, Fellaini and Smalling. They could have important roles to play between now and the end of the season.

That's a bit OTT, but I get your point, how on earth has he turned into the player he is now ? I thought he would turn into a guaranteed starter and yes even captain material, but in truth I would actually prefer playing Fellaini over him, and believe me I never thought I'd say anything like that .

Is this just fantasy, or reality ? Fantasy = Sandro - Fabinho - Willian, just for some samba !
Reality = Rose, just to fill up the treatment room.

If Darmian, Blind and Mki don't feature against Bristol I could see all being off in January, but the injury to Valencia may save Darmian.

One or two in are a must. We should be aiming to catch ground on city now. Wait till the summer and we make our jobs even harder for next season.

I'll never forget the time he allowed Mark Noble to carry him off the pitch at West Ham. Could you imagine Roy Keane allowing that to happen?

Weigl would be a great addition and Dortmund want Mkhitaryan back, so why not try for him.

Sure you can ask, but Dortmund wont consider selling Weigl and surely not in January..no chance.

Also, the reports about Dortmund wanting Mkhi and his cancer agent back must be fabricated.

If we are going to be selling anyone, surely it’s better to wait for the summer. Flogging Miki mid-season to anyone that will take him sounds like daft business to me.

We won't sell three squad players in January certainly without replacing them

I can see there replacements.

For Mkhi --> Recall Pereira
For Darmian --> Recall Fosu-Mensah
For Blind --> Tuanzebe

I think it's going to be a quiet one, only perhaps with a few young players going out permanently or on loan.

Expect Miki will leave.. and Shaw too if we get Rose, no one else coming in..

I would be prefer to stick with Shaw than bringing in rose. Shaw needs to start v Bristol and do just what he did in his last 2 games. I think he could have just saved his future with us.

Do you think the management at United would be put off buying players from Dortmund?

Do we even think that perhaps some Dortmund players will be put off joining us?

I like the look of a few of their players, but it's hard to go all muppet when Kagawa and Mkhitaryan haven't done so well here. It's only two players, but still!

Yeah hope so.

Genuinely don't see the point buying Rose as he's always injured.

Alex Sandro would be brilliant. I know people have hope for Shaw but he still wouldn't be as good as Sandro so if we can get him, then we should get him. I'd say an attacker is a must. Not a striker really as Lukaku will be Mourinho's striker for the foreseeable future, but a #10 or a right winger, ideally a big signing who could have an impact right away, but can also be a younger guy ready to go in the first team (like Malcom). If we can get someone like Goretzka in now for a cheaper price instead of waiting to get them on a free in the summer, that would also be ideal. Ozil as well.

For outs, Mkhitaryan should go. Darmian if we bring in a left back.

@Nostradamus

Sorry couldn’t help myself.
