Manchester United 0:1 Atletico Madrid (Sat 30th July, 12:45 UK time)

I think the problem is that he wouldn't let go of his shirt, think refs don't like that. Not that I agree with them though.
Still, that makes the ref an ass for thinking a slightly longer shirt pull is worse than deliberately flipping a jumping player mid-air or slide tackles from behind with the ball gone. Not like there's a rule stating that if a shirt pull is prolonged then it's a booking.

Atletico are technically better than us IMO so it's a sign of good coaching that we're matching them all the way so far and creating the better chances.

Elanga been poor. Miscontrolled everything, and when there’s no space to run away from people he’s an average player.

People talk about Atletico's behavior but we are not exactly acting like angels today which is a nice thing to see. Both teams seem to mirror the personality of their managers.
Nice to hear that.

Yes, a little concerning that everything is coming down the left though. Elanga and Dalot haven't really offered the same threat on the right
Yeah I mean that's obvious with it being Elanga out there. Dalot is a good link up fullback... But Elanga can't really do much out there so there's not much for Dalot to work with. But yeah that's one of the worries this season. Need an attacker to compete and rotate to not have such a big drop in quality when someone is out

Well the refereeing standards in Norway isn't any better than in England:D

WHat is ETH writing ?!

Our pressing has vastly improved. Lot more battles taking place in the pitch

What’s clear as day to me is that if our back line and DM could pass and make quick decisions on the ball, ETH will have us playing like Pep’s teams.

Started decent but now it's fairly grim.

Need control in midfield. Don't have the players capable of it

There wasn’t. Elanga just decided to lie down after losing the ball.

Funnily enough exactly That caused us to go out of the Champions League against these a few months ago
He was pushed from behind and then the guy's studs came down on his calf as he went down. Surely he'd reasonably expect a foul there?
