Manchester City under Pep Guardiola | Pep on City v Liverpool ref: "He likes to be special"

3 home defeats in a row too. 4 defeats in 6 for them.
More than just signs of vulnerability, it's a complete mental breakdown.

It's as if he relied on his team blowing everyone away without a challenge and at the moment hey need to dig deep they fall apart

They are so one dimensional and are being found out.

Peps refusal to play any other way is starting to cause them issues. Bet they wish they had Lukaku or the option of someone to occupy Lovren/VVD, dominate in the air and hold up the ball.

Has not been a good end to the season by him or the side. Everyone was praising the 3-4-3, but if anything the side once again lacked proper full backs on either flank who could draw attention from Sane/Silva.

10 years of unlimited cash and one CL semi-final. Two years of the “master coach” and they have not got past the QF. Unlike Chelsea pre-2012, they can’t even claim to have been unlucky.

Just love it
Theyve been battering teams the whole season, but when the most important matches of the year arrive, they bottle it and they show what a small club they are, shitting in their pants and all that :lol::lol:

Give him Messi and he will win. Take Messi away and he's just another manager who's decent but has a bucket load of money at his disposal. Mangerial career built upon the fact he had the best players at the time. Fraud.

They need a Neymar, Messi et al to have any chance.

Playing Devil's Advocate, if that goal had rightly been given, I'd have backed them to win going in 2-0. But they fell apart so easily...

Some of the reactions on here are ridiculous. They probably should have thumped us on Saturday and tonight if that goal had not wrongly been given offside it would have been a totally different match. City have been fantastic this season and a lot of credit goes to Guardiola.

If they lose again on Saturday they might get a Devon Loch sized dose of squeaky bum syndrome.

I agree with this. Teams shit themselves in the tunnel. Three games in a row, two teams havent feared them and they have almost choked their season.

Oh I do wonder what City will ever do to fix this?

Maybe spend another £300m this summer perhaps?

Yeah, other than this second half, where I think Pep massively fecked up getting suspended, and it showed on the team, I loved the response from the team. Hell, even after 2-2 on Saturday it was a solid showing with some good chances. It's weird how this week has panned out, but it's not like there are some huge flaws in the system or anything. Which is something the majority of these late posts are suggesting.

They need proper central defenders not some faux ball playing midfielders who think they can defend. Pep needs to look at some tough English CBs like Harry Macguire

Crashing out of the CL with a combined 11 goals conceded over the last 2 years simply isn't good enough.
No amount of Pep ball can overcome that.

Underwhelming CL campaign for a team labelled as the best English team in history. If this is the English team in history, England is fecked then.

These are the games where teams are judged - it’s why we lionise our 99 and 08 teams while the 99-00 team is largely forgotten despite walking the league.

I would say Gurdiola wishes he had Salah. Salah would be his messi. Not as good though.

Lots of ifs and buts.

Unfortunately this is correct.

Gonna enjoy this though.
