Manchester City banned from CL for 2 seasons and fined 30 million euros | CAS - Ban lifted, fined 10 million

FFP is a protection for Real Madrid and Barcelona's.

If FFP would be working , Barcelona would have already banned , they're spending 100million + each year for players

So the court of arbitration has decided that they are guilty of all charges but they only need to pay 10 million quid.

Oh well. Makes tonight's game all the more tasty.

What's the point of having rules and laws of the game, if you're not allowed to apply them? Absolute shambolic decision from CAS, hope UEFA appeals it. Absolute shambles.

Absolute fecking joke. Corruption at it’s finest. I wonder how many corrupt feckers got brown paper envelopes filled with money. I am raging, this is a travesty.

All clubs should do one of two things, massive protests and pressure CAS into actually overturning this decision, or say feck off to FFP and just spend as much as they want. There is no way any other club can get sanctioned now. FFP is done.

This is Article 56 btw that CAS have said they have contravened -

The licensee must: a) cooperate with the licensor and the UEFA Club Financial Control Body in respect of their requests and enquiries; b) provide the licensor and the UEFA Club Financial Control Body with all necessary information and/or relevant documents to fully demonstrate that the monitoring requirements are fulfilled, as well as any other document requested and deemed to be relevant for club monitoring decision-making, by the deadline set by the licensor and/or the UEFA administration (the reporting entity or combination of entities in respect of which information is required must be the same as for club licensing); c) confirm that all the submitted documentation and information are complete and accurate; d) promptly notify the licensor in writing about any subsequent events that constitute a significant change to the information previously submitted to the licensor, including a change of legal form or legal group structure

 So they broke the rules, evidence was presented of said breaking of rules (even if it was through hacked emails), they get an initial 2 year ban for the offence but manage to get away with really. I said last week I thought they would get away with it but it's still absolutely laughable.

What is the point in clubs tyring to abide by FFP?

Might give non-league a go.

Incoming: Newcastle - Hold my beer.

Side note - Someone needs to make a documentary. CAS & UEFA both need to be in it.

Ah well - it would have been nice, but not to be.

This is a lot easier to take with us being well placed for 4th. It keeps this season very interesting.

FFP has always been a joke and this proves it. Sucks for us that City was correct in this, but they did football a favour in challenging UEFA/FIFA. Those nutbags doenst know what they're doing.

The CAS award emphasized that most of the alleged breaches reported by the Adjudicatory Chamber of the CFCB were either not established or time-barred. As the charges with respect to any dishonest concealment of equity funding were clearly more significant violations than obstructing the CFCB’s investigations, it was not appropriate to impose a ban on participating in UEFA’s club competitions for MCFC’s failure to cooperate with the CFCB’s investigations alone.

As we all expected, they broke the rules but UEFA found out through illegal means and/or it happened too long ago.

The 10 million is for not cooperating with UEFA, nothing to do with their dodgy funding.

Huge hit to UEFA's reputation and power. FFP is over now, clubs like PSG will see this as carte blanche to go nuts in the transfer market.

So they’re not vindicated, they’re still guilty. But the breaches happened too long ago..

At least we have got our house in order in regards to CL qualification
That was always down to us.

Rather we got there on merit than rely on a CAS verdict. Can you imagine what the Bitters would have made of it? They would have found a way of blaming SAF:lol:
