Phil Neville has played well for the past two games.

Maybe Ricardo makes his full debut today?
I read that Spurs have 12 injured players, so their injury-situation are even worse than ours (!) Hopefully Gary Neville makes a start today, and our two CB's will be John & Rio (would love to see that)

United 2 Spurs 0

Cheers!

If you seiously believe that Phil Neville has played well the last two games, then you are nuts. His distribution against Leeds was shite. If we have fans who are prepared to sit back and accept his standard of performance as acceptable then we are in big danger. To emphasise the point of his performance against Leeds, Dacourt bossed the game from centre mid.

Is this the official one? I wish someone would come out and say it
hate predictions,

This is an extremely important game for us. Three points will put us right slam back in it, anything else will be deemed a failure even if we do play well.
Glory glory Man utd

The gaffer is nuts then.

Just what I was going to say.

No-one would suggest that it's ideal to have PN in midfield. But he didn't do bad against Leeds, and did better against Haifa.

Credit where it's due for Pete's sake.

And I think it's quite rude as a newcomer to the site to call people nuts. Especially me. Even if you're right. :)

No I don't think the gaffer is nuts, he had no option but to play that idiot Neville. I think the people who are nuts are the fans who accept such inept performances from such players.

The gaffer said Phil Neville played well.

But I expect he is a liar. Whereas I am just nuts.

And I'm going to tell my dad what you said. You won't like him when he's angry - he's a Leeds fan, called Marching.

Two penalties?? ;) You must be kidding us..
3-2 to us or 2-2 Ole with 2 and one for either Butt or Giggs.
Call me a pessimist, but less than 3 points and you can kiss the League good bye after only 7 0r 8 games, Livershit and the arses will not drop pts today.
I really think we are not in for anything(trophies)this year. We are not as good as most think. We need 2-3 players in and 2-3 players out (Forlan-Barthez).

Teletext reckons Phil is likely to start. He's deserved to keep his place after the last 2 games. I think we'll win:
4-1 Ruud 2, Rio, Diego (from open play), Teddy.

OK and all the problems will be resolved...
We need the return of our injured players.
Forlan can score goals that aren't penalties (see the World Cup).
Only Leeds has conceded less goals than us at the moment.

Agreed Elfie. There's more to it than just buying and selling players.

The injuries have forced Fergie to give some of the youth players a chance. O'Shea being the obvious one, he probably wouldn't have made this many appearances if we hadn't lost Gaz. Danny Pugh would have even got on the bench.
The matches these players are getting can only do them good.

Hmmm. But will it do us good.

Fact is we aren't producing exciting talent. John O'Shea is so far the only one from our reserves that I feel really confident about. I know we are unlikely to get a crop like we did with Becks etc., but one exciting front player would be nice.

I think we have some players in the youth squad whgo look like they could really make an impact.
Danny Pugh looks quick and skillful, Danny Webber is player very well for Watford, from what i've heard Mads Timm is a great prospect and if Kieran Richardson could strengthen up a bit he could be a good prospect.
If they can be brought in slowly it can only be good for the future of the club.

Of course it will, It will left our spirits as fans, increase competition within the team and bring back the hunger and cutting edge that is missing now. Our injured players will not fix it, Keane was frustrated and Scholes was not his old self,as for Barthez I do think he was a bit hesitant in dealing with Leeds' goal and he is too weak dealing with crosses, sometimes he is over confident and sometimes he is hesitant when it comes to crosses and what good are you in the English game if you could not deal with crosses?!

We bought Ruud, Diego, and Seba last year, and Rio this - shouldn't that have increased competition within the team.

No good building a house without the foundations.

We bought RVN and Seba the yr before and we were very close(closer than our final position shows) to win the League and be in the final of the EU CH cup. We needed 'a' RIO then. This year the frustration is bigger and if nothing is done and soon, we will be out of it sooner.

Last year we failed because of defensive frailties. We had no problem - most of the time -scoring goals.

As we have virtually the same team as last year, but with a stronger defence, then there is no real reason why we can't be more successful this season.

this time boys

oh now ive done it.

Humm. There were defensive frailties but in most of our defeats we couldn't score (Chelsea, Bolton, Middelbrough, Arsenal home, Liverpool home... or scored only one). Sometimes we scored 5 and sometimes 0...
