Man Utd v Parma team scores updates

I haven't noticed any changes yet. We're still fecking hammering them. <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> Ole just had a great chance, bit of a deflection though, keeper saved anyway.
 
Quite a contrast in performance to the Ajax game, though I expect the england players to struggle in the second half and there'll be the usual substitutions. Best thing was that we played like United, Butt provided the edge in midfield, Veron the playmaking and great balls, Giggs and Beckham (and Wes) the crosses and WING-PLAY, while Forlan linked up the play and was very involved in the build up. Best thing though is our defense are joining in with the play and passing the ball across the deck rather than hoofing it, really giving us an advantage in possession. <hr></blockquote>

Beckham perfect cross on to Ole's head a couple of yards out. We could actually win this tournament if we keep scoring at this rate, you get a point for every goal scored in addition to 3 points for a win. Brilliant performance - more competitiveness and fluidity and end product.

I think one or two players are starting to tire now which is understandable, I'd expect subs soon. Forlan is one of them, but with Ruud out there is no straight swap available. Maybe Giggs will go up front with either Djordic or Pugh on the left. Did anyone seen who's on the bench?
 
We're playing our passing possesion game now, conserving energy a bit, god knows how many passes we are stringing together.
 
Nakata tries a curled shot on goal from outside goal, but goes a fair bit wide. Vaio off for Gilardino, Vaio did nothing today, disappointing.

Ole Giggs or Beckham could have scored there, we were all over them, everyone of our midfielders breaking against them led by Butt. They've all had over 70 minutes, good work out and good for their stamina. Parma seem to be giving up a bit, spineless they are.

Parma cross the ball, goes over O'Shea's head but their player headed it over the bar. We're so upfield that we're looking a bit more vulnerable on the break now - but we'll probably still more likely to score than them.
 
Beckham off for Djordic, got a big cheer and handed the Captain's armband over to Keano (note that he had it and not Giggs).
 
Wonder why does Djordjic always get about 10-15 minutes to play, despite being hailed as a great prospect ?
 
Rio winning out on a one on one, showed his pace and strength. Looking like a very good signing.

I don't understand how Pugh has gone up in the pecking order ahead of him. Maybe these games are to see if Pugh can handle the jump up, while Djordic has already been tested in some first team games.

The substitutions have killed the game a bit, we're still mostly in control, but its only 3 mins left. Fans just singing the City coming up, going down song...

Good run by Giggs, great save from Keane shot, but the stupid ref gave a goal kick. Best Giggs momemt of the game - was on the right flank!

Carroll 8 - composed, good reactions
Silvestre 6 - Didn't get forward much, and hoofed the ball too much, but defended ok
Rio 9 - he's fecking class
O'Shea 8 - untroubled and assured
Wes 8 - Great cross for the goal, good wing play, and good defending
Giggs 7.5 - Pretty good, more a teamwork performance than an individual one
Veron 8.5 - Playmaker, and did it well, had a lot of the ball
Becks 8 - Good cross for Ole's goal, passing improved over last game, stuck to the wing more
Forlan 7.5 - Linked up very well in the first half, with good vision, tired a bit second half
Ole 7 - Scored, but was largely anonymous
