Man City game. A potential turning point…

Its role reversal nowadays, we are like City was decades ago, exciting and screaming to the world when we win, but deep down the chances is slim. Its more and more like that the last few years. Trying to win the derby but losing the trophy...

Let's beat City, LVG's style!

During LVG's time our defence was tight with many boring 0-0 draws because we can't break down team that sit back. When we played big team that come out to play we beat them easily.

The problem is ETH's team have the problem of both the defence is not strong and the attackers can't break down any team sit back or not.

Hope ETH can come up with something to surprise us!

We have supposedly turned more corners in the last decade than a mouse in a maze.

City knocked us off the perch?Nope.

With Glazers, Ed, Arnold and Murtough in charge we keep shooting ourselves in the foot. We self sabotage and become unprecedented failure in history of football.

Even Liverpool and Arsenal are better than us now and soon will be Spurs and Newcastle.

The trouble is ETH is nowhere near as good a coach as LVG was.

LVG’s era bored me to tears but we were a well disciplined and tactically astute side under him.

I dont know what will be the worst, the actuall game result or everybody's "doom" narrative before/under the game.
One thing is for sure, the media will demand ETH's head on a pike if we loose today.

In other words, the media will milk this game for all its worth.

Personally i feel kinda indifferent, because ETH hasnt done as good as i would have hoped so far.
That said, a new "restart" with this squad doesnt feel like the way to go either.

/sigh

We may as well hand them a stick of butter and bend over

Might be a waste of butter.

In the 20 league meetings in the last 10 years they won 10, you won 7 and there were 3 draws.
Statistic wise there’s not a lot in it and you’ve got the home advantage today.

Not over ‘til it’s over mate / a coward dies a thousand times etc. Though there’s no doubting that you’re a brave bloke because I certainly wouldn’t be brave enough to butter up ;-)

It’s hard to see anything but a complete annihilation today. How is it possible that after all these years and all the money, we end up with Evans at the back again. The absurdity is unbelievable

This was never going to happen the way we play football this season. We don't look like scoring. Ever.

Difficult to say a team who are likely to be expelled from the Premier League during their corruption and money laundering investigation have really knocked anyone off their perch...
Chance would be a fine thing. In thirty years time, if the world isn't obliterated or on fire by then, a side story will emerge detailing just how deep the influence City's ownership have managed to attain (along with all other kinds of unsavoury characters, some of whom have already been reported upon in other contexts, including oligarchs and dark money billionaires) in our institutions, including an FA itself in hock to a (largely bought) government. If people hadn't been so hysterical about the potential Murdoch takeover of the club in the late 90s and given the government licence to legislate against it on the grounds of competition law , this could have been us... proper hegemony with entrenched institutional backing and no Glazer sale...it's not like owning us would have allowed that POS and his outfit to do more actual damage to the country than they've already accomplished. Once the parasites were in place, there was nothing to do except for the kinds of acts of 'pressure' our fanbase won't countenance.

It may be a turning point. A game with zero positives. Can only go up from here.

We jumped off the perch ourselves.

Apparently they were also allowed to put up a flag outside their dressing room, yeah I could just see the scousers allowing it at Anfield
