Mahrez | Signed with City

I don't know why u didn't go for both. Sanchez left and Marhez right would be awsome, yes I rate Martial but he's not there just yet and Rashford could have been a proper backup for Lukaku.
I feel it would have seriously unsettled both Martial and Rashford (and I love them, would hate that to happen), since Mahrez is about 25, if I'm not mistaken, whilst Sanchez is 29, so we can expect to see 2-3 years of his peak and allow our young stars to develop in the same time.

Still, hope we start playing more to our strengths and I believe any of our attackers can come good in any position, as long as the team plays cohesively.

About to turn 27. Agree with the remainder.

I get that point but I don't feel Jose has great faith in either, Rashford is a CF, so he should either play there or go on loan, and Martial plays on the left, his finishing on the right has been poor, IMO. Lukaku will always be first choice,

That was in summer, by January with the prices of players that 45m was no longer viable. He was unprofessional in the way he behaved, you can't just dishonour your contract like that because you didn't get your way.
He didnt just "dishonor" his contract. He had every right to feel aggrieved. His club knew it too that is why they late him boil and cool down before he reported back for duty. Anyone thinking he should have behaved otherwise is just being a hypocritical dick and would have probably behaved worse in similar circumstances.

Come one pal, you know those figures have been long left behind since last year's crazy summer. Neymar is now a 200m player, Lukaku 90m, Coutinho 130m, VVD 70m.

A Premier League winner/POTY winner is no longer a 45m player, not a chance..
But that isnt his fault nor business is it ? If they wanted to shift goal posts he should have been made aware in advance of the window.

And City had two things going against them, 1) they came so damn late in the window giving Leicester zero options and 2) they weren't willing to pay the only fee Leicester could possibly accept so late in the window.
If City come back in June with the same offer, Mahrez will be a Man City player, if they don't, well they didn't really want him that badly anyway, just as cover for Sane.

Hell, if City's offer had come 10 days earlier, the price they offered would have been enough. Mahrez is an absolute dick for not realising that.
That's plain double standards. This is a player who sacrificed huge offers to stay at Leicester and help them play their maiden champions league campaign. I see no good reason why Leicester couldn't reciprocate

I'd actually agree with you in this case if City had come in early enough for Leicester to sign a replacement. Instead the offer only came in towards the end of the window, which would have screwed Leicester over if they had accepted it. If City had made the offer earlier on then I suspect we'd see Mahrez in the City team now (so thankfully it didn't happen).

Agreed. Spot on.

Yep.

They didn’t though, did they. They fined him two weeks wages.

It was absolutely pathetic behaviour from Mahrez and, no, very few people would have behaved similar or worse given the circumstances.

He acted like nothing more than a spoiled little shit who only came slithering back once he was hit in the pocket. I have no time for that whatsoever.

I don't think he'd be worth the price tag considering his age and Martial and Rashford should be improving next season so we should keep faith.

Bernardo Silva was about £50m wasn't he? One of him and Mahrez will be benched which seems so crazy to me. Mahrez is gonna be good for 'em regardless.

Good signing that. Even if he doesn't start regularly, imagine bringing a player of his quality off the bench :(

I think he’ll displace Sterling quite quickly actually. The figures he posts in that Leicester team are excellent.

Expect B.Silva to begin to move more centrally, as the natural player to begin to backfill D.Silva. He was limited to RW last year because Silva stayed in top form the entire season.

It's not looking great, is it? Both City and Liverpool doing excellent business, Mahrez is a fantastic signing for them. Am really hoping we make a game-changing signing before the window closes

This looks a good price when you see that Willian, an inferior player, would cost around the same or even more.

Sane, Sterling, Silva and Mahrez sounds quality to compete vs the top teams.

City attacking players are on the level of
Ronaldo-Bale, Costa-Dybala, Coutinho-Messi, Mane-Salah, Hazard--William, Neymar-Mbappe, etc... I hope we improve Mata.

Mahrez is one of the best RW of the league, City is singing a player who could have been the answer for our right wing problem.

Which available RW would you sign to improve our team?

I'll be honest, I've hardly been blown away by either of their signings so far this window. They're filling gaps in their squad like we are.

Filling gaps? Fabinho Keita should surely be a massive improvement on what they have, especially in the defensive areas.
City filling gaps on a team that already ran away with the league last season

I watched Naby Keita in Europa League and was fairly impressed, and we all know about Fabinho. Don't know much about Jorginho, but Mahrez is a great signing - I wanted him for a long time to solve our RW issues.

Maybe you're right. I am fairly happy with the signing of Fred, but just a feeling I have that we need something else big in this window to give us a boost going in to the start of the season.

I always thought he was overrated. Skillful but decision making in the final 3rd is erratic.

Pep looking to buy the CL as well. And everyone has to follow suit to even stand a chance.

Really strange why we didn't seem to be interested, he ticks all the boxes for a gaping hole in our squad.

Meh.

I just hope we have a good target in mind, I really wouldn't mind that Lozano from Mexico, he looks a player.

Another RW bench option beside Silva. Even if one of them replaces Sterling, that's 2x £50m substitutes for the same position. I don't know who is worse, Pep and his massive spending or the stupid players that join them to be a sub.

Or your understanding of where they’ll all play is wrong.

Personally, think it's Aguero going on the bench.
Feel it's going to be
Sane Sterling Mahrez.

You dont expect Sterling to move more centrally? My initial thought was that your front 3 would be Mahrez---Sterling---Sane with Aguero and Jesus struggling for minutes. I can see Pep loving Sterling's movement even if his finishing isn't all that

Probably cause it’s been a done deal to City for months now.

Cant wait to see who we end up with on the right. We have needed this guy for the last 2 seasons.

What you gonna do if we are not interested we are just not interested. Other manager than Mourinho in charge would jump on him. Crazy attacking options for Citeh

So the ‘Elite Development Squad’ () has no youth players that could stand in and play backup behind D.Silva, B.Silva, Sane and Sterling? Another £60m player, which seems rather needless, just blocks the path for youth.

Not to mention Gundogan, Fernandinho KDB and potentially Jorginho. I'm guessing he'll leave eventually just like Sancho and Maffeo, it might take a bit longer as he's a local boy.

Remember how Everton “won” the last transfer window and how well everyone thought they’d do? And when we “won” the transfer window with di Maria and falcao? The truth is that nobody knows for sure how transfers will work out for anyone.
