Television Mad Men | SPOILERS

What a fantastic episode, once again. This 'half season' has truly been up there with some of the best of the show. I loved:
- Sally's pose when she smoked her cigarette;
- the Don/Peggy moments;
- how Harry was dismissed by Roger;
- the Don/Megan conversation;
- the landing on the moon scene;
- Peggy's presentation;
- the Napoleon related quote by Roger.

Most of the episode basically. And what a wonderfully bonkers send-off for Robert Morse!

The guy who plays Roger deserves an Emmy. I think he has had quite a few nominations if I am not mistaken. Problem is he always comes up against that bastard imp.

That ending was so bizarre and out of place in an otherwise great episode. I'm not sure if I liked the musical segment or not. I was sort of baffled throughout.

Robert Morse who played Bert is a broadway legend, I thought it was a nice send off ala Anna.

Roger Sterling, the Redeemer.

Stupid mid season break. Great episode. Another pointless appearance by Lou, the worst character ever seen in this show.

Just started rewatching from season 1. It's amazing. Pete looks 12.

Just watched the episode where they get high in the office at the weekend.:lol: This show has some great comedic moments that kind of make you give a weird, inward snort.

It's getting better and better. The more you watch the more you become invested in the characters and the more you enjoy it.

Easily the best season since Season 4. So happy they've stepped it up for the finale. Pete has been my favourite since the start. He's had some great lines.

I used to hate Pete at first, I can't quite remember when it turned around but he's one of my favourite characters on the show now.

I loved how they completely switched off from mourning mood back to business mode when Roger brought the offer to them. Joan and Pete were brilliant, and Cutler's change of heart at the end was fun too.

Just watched all the episodes in two weeks. Was utterly hooked from very early on. My favourite show ever now I think.

I love Don. He always annoys me with his cheating and stuff but it's the strength of character that just keeps making me feel sorry for him.

Roger is also a brilliant character, has so many good lines :lol:

Was genuinely surprised that Don agreed to the stipulations when returning to the agency, I was expecting him to just walk out or something. Glad he's back on top now anyway, really didn't like Jim or Lou.

That was hilarious. In fact I find the scenes at the office the funniest. Best of which to me was
when one of the secretaries drove a lawn mower over the their new investor's son's foot slicing it off.

I actually stumbled on the show by chance way back then. I was bored in my film making class (finished editing my film with 6 weeks to go) so decided to have a stroll on BBC iPlayer. Then I spotted the show. The only reason I watched it was that it had Betty applying lipstick through a mirror (S1 Ep 2) as its screen grab. I've had a crush on January since then- even to the extent that I'm sympathetic towards her character even though shes an annoying piece of...so I spent the next 5 weeks (every wednesday) of the class watching Mad Men and before I knew it, I was hooked. It remains one of the very few tv drama series I religiously follow. Thanks Betty.

Just got finished watching the 1st half of season 7, and I fecking loved it. Enjoyed much moreso than season 6 which although it has been a while since I've seen it, I remembered thinking was a bit of a letdown after an amazing season 5. Great to see Roger and Pete back to their very best. Some classic lines, lol. As I watched the penultimate episode, couldn't help but think that both the scenes with Don and Peggy dancing as well as Don, Peggy, and Pete sat around the table at the Burger Chef would have been nice endings for the show to finish. Really curious to see how Weiner decides to end it next year. Unlike Breaking Bad or Sopranos, there's not really an obvious conclusion for Mad Men. Except for maybe a depressing scene where lights go dark with Draper sitting alone next to a bottle.

Couple things that I didn't really get were when did Joan become such an ungrateful bitch? Absolutely no fecking loyalty. Also, the Jim Cutler and Ted characters really don't do much for me. In fact, out of the newer characters only Lou Avery was semi-interesting. Anyone else happy to see less of Megan and the whole California angle? Should set up for a cracking finish. Bummed out there's only 7 more episodes left. After Mad Men ends, the only shows remaining that still haven't jumped the shark will be Game of Thrones and True Detective. :(

While it's not nice to see given how she's turned on Don, in a sense it's logical for the evolution of her character. She's becoming one of these highly professional women, very driven, and who is willing to put the good of the firm before anything else. She has no loyalty, sure, but whatever she did to Don wasn't out of spite but just due to what she thinks is best for the company.

Reminds me of you, in many ways.

Watched the last three/two and a half seasons in a week and I think it's my favourite show of all-time now. Great characters and that mid-season finale shows how it's not a show where nothing happens like some claim.

Kind of like how most of the original band kind of grouped together to help Don. Even though they've been through a lot of shit they're almost like a dysfunctional family. Pete seems to have become Don's number one fan at some point since he moved to California. That final episode of the mid-season was great as well. Weird ending but good send off for Bert.

I think this is going to be my jam for the next weeks. Hamm as Don Draper just oozes "class". True Detective and House of Cards will have to stay on the watch list.

Jesus, Jon Hamms facial expressions are quite something. I haven't seen an actor capable of subtly portraying grief like he can. Great start, only 6 episodes left. :(

It's back now? Thought it was this Thursday, time to get this watched.

Enjoyed that, it's been a while. I probably should have watched the first 7 episodes for a refresh.

Forgot how much I like Don
