LvG would consider a contract extention, but will retire at United

Just requoting what you quoted to avoid you embarassing yourself further.

4 games in is not enough to state we haven't improved.
It is the second time now.

You're either mental or illiterate.

It's plenty. There has been virtually no improvement since day 1 of his appointment and these 4 games are purely a continuation of last season.

In Barcelona, the white handkerchiefs would have come out. In Bayern Munich, they would have been whistling. In Amsterdam, Ajax, they would have been shouting for my “friend” Cruyff (to replace me).

‘Here, they are applauding — they stand up and applaud. Unbelievable.

Those are the words of man who knows that he is very safe at his job relative to his other jobs in the past.

Its called logic dickwad. Something clearly entirely absent in your current hysterical state

And you're an ignorant arsehole, but who's counting insults?

Just go read that you are quoting 2 different posters, you tool!

.. Apparently one of the biggest things with LVG's tenure in his past jobs is that the fanbase tends to turn against each other..True to form then

One ageing manager for another. When will this end.

Age has very little to do with efficiency.

Ancelotti (56) is only 8 years older than Klopp(48) and 4 years older than Mourinho (52), he is also one of the best managers in the world with a proven record in 4 of the top 6 leagues in the world.
Milan (2001–2009)
Chelsea (2009–2011)
Paris Saint-Germain (2011–2013)
Real Madrid (2013–2015)

Those are the words of man who knows that he is very safe at his job relative to his other jobs in the past.

Or the words of a man hugely aprreciative and respectful of the support?

Get a grip.

This place is laughable. We've been narrowly done away to a good Swansea side and this thread has been turned into an LVG out rally.

Spineless. One of you grow some bollocks, man up, and start an actual LVG out thread.
So if Van Gaal hasn't improved in a year and a half it's wrong to suggest he should be removed if United are in a bad position at Christmas?

I would prefer a young and hungry manager to lead us in the future, instead of someone who has won so much.

This place could turn on itself alone in a lift. No LVG needed

So we didn't improve last year?
I remember us playing well for about 4-5 games (Spurs..Liverpool..City). And then ending the season poorly with losses to Everton and West Brom

This season we are looking toothless again and this philosophy of his doesn't seem to be working too well. Its dire to watch and it shouldn't be like that after 18 months considering the money he has had

And we qualified for the CL - his primary target.

We are now just 4 games into the new season and there are people here seriously wanting him out. Its laughable. He'll be judged by those who matter on what happens over a much longer time period and rightly so.

I know who I'm quoting. Are you drunk or unwell? Go lie down

No, you don't.

OK, I spell it for you:

He should get this season IMO, unless we are in a very bad position around Christmas.

In fact, this is a spot after a lengthy debate with invictus when I advocated that we should not sack LVG even if Klopp/Guardiola are available next summer.

Then you went full abuse:

But the post you quotes was:

It's not 4 games. It's a season and 4 games, as well you know.

From an another poster.

So what? Getting top 4 after spending £100m+ on players over Liverpool (who had lost Suarez and Sturridge and Sterling trying force himself out) and Spurs is hardly some big achievement. Not achieving that low target would have been disgraceful

You stated we haven't improved. We have, for example, by qualifying for the CL. Expected, or not, its improvement.

Any more lessons needed in the blindingly obvious?

I thought you meant improvement in the football and performances since he first took the job. Yes he has improved over Moyes with the help of £150m+ or whatever the number is. You got me :o Good work LVG keep it up

Maybe..But when you are under the pressure that those clubs put you under, because of the expectations there, you know that you cant afford to take chances..You sign the best players for the job because that keeps you in the job too

The expectations here are as high as anywhere. The difference I would say is that with match going fans here there is a little more patience and a little more sense of the bigger picture.

Meanwhile on the caf......

Were is the progress that he was talking about at the end of the season awards? He knows how strong the premier league is. Such mistakes are going to cause United to fail. He should have sorted out the GK & Striker issues long back. It's coming to bit him in the ass. He can't even moan about it as everything is being done with his approval.

That is entering top (united color which cannot be named here) territory ..there is frustation in both sets of fans..Its like in the Moyes season, even though the matchgoing fans kept the feelings to themselves there was deep frustations..its this same matchgoing fans that were chanting for 4-4-2 last season, or chanting ättack, attack, attack"when Giggs got that four game gig showing what they prefer..

So quite frankly I disagree , I think people have genuine concerns, and for some raising this means you are not a true supporter and an impatient gloryhunter..quite frankly, Its just an easier way of dismissing others opinion by simply brushing those that complain as being non-match going, and in essence being less of fans in a way..

Match going fans who were booing after the Newcastle game? Or shouting attack, which clearly shows they bored of the play.

That's why the fans at OT were chanting ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK for half the match against Newcastle.

Reminds me of the Moyes era, didn't go last week but mate who used my ticket said he could hear at full time.

There was a handful of boos nothing major

Well not yet. But there are signs of frustration early on.

If it does carry on then it will be major. Last season the objective was to get 4th. This season atleast challenge for the title. Not win it, but be in the race until March or so. I just don't think we'd do that.

We shall see. My whole stance has been anti the prevalent hysteria in here after 4 games of this new season. Lets see where we are on New Years Day how about that?

When he's gone after next season please don't get another tiki-taka, possession is everything manager please MUFC. It's a load of shite to watch.

If Chelsea sack Mourinho at the end of the season would anyone here want him?

he'll be the man who got us back on track after the Moyes disaster, but that'll be the extent of his legacy.

Am I right or is that what he did at Bayern and Barca. He won a title with Barca and got them to a CL final sure, but he was the man before the next man who took them to another level (got the teams a treble etc).
I have a feeling that will be his maximum for us.

In both Barca and Munchen, he won multiple trophies though.

Oh yeah I know, im just saying, he didnt take them to their maximum, it was the manager that followed right?

I alos think were better suited for Europe than PL under him anyway.

In Bayern, I really think that he has a lot of merits for Heynckess' treble. The team was basically Van Gaal's team, and while Heynckess used different tactics, the foundation was there. He took Bayern when they were in a very bad position - having had Klinsmann - almost won the treble and created a great team. He was bad in the second season, but the team was quite strong.

In Barca, I think is quite different. Riijkard first almost completely changed the team, while Pep changed it even more. When Pep took over, that team had nothing to do with what LVG left. I wouldn't say that he left good foundation at Barca, at the contrary, Barca was at its very worst position (both on and off the pitch) when LVG left (although the problem was more than just a manager). He gave the debuts to Xavi, Iniesta and Valdes but only Xavi was a starter under him. And that's it when it comes to how much LVG had to do with Barca's success later on.
