He deserves nothing from us, he will be getting a 5M payout for not getting us to the Champs league plus our lowest goal tally in years.
We got to the FA cup final despite him, not because of him.

Yup!

Is it Mendes saying...Hi!?

Doubt it. Mendes will already be fully aware of what we're going to do. If it is him planting the story then I'm seriously concerned, as it means he's desperately trying to get us to change our mind regarding Jose...

I don't know if anybody has posted this yet, but oof. At least we rank first in something

Mourinho to PSG, DDG offski if LVG stays and Zlatan to United. All very convenient don't you think?

Hadn't seen it in the numbers, but I'm not surprised. F365 carried an article a few days ago ranking teams on "incompetence". United didn't figure anywhere on that list and the article ended with a few lines on how we had essentially exhibited a "special kind of incompetence" to goof up so badly despite not mucking up any discernible area. Sterility of possession clearly wasn't measured (or wasn't rated as incompetence)...

Frankly, I don't see Zlatan moving to United if LvG stays...

We would really need the numbers for last season to see if there has been progress, if so the philosophy clearly works and LVG should stay.

Sideways/backwards passing.
Pointless possession.
Chances created: 2nd from bottom.
Total shots: 4th from bottom
Shots on target: 5th from bottom.
These stats are akin to that of a team battling relegation!

Surely LVG needs to acknowledge that his tactics are completely wrong.
That statistics clearly show this.

Or rather, the media are just making up bollocks as usual cause United are blacking out media on the issue...

This is what Zlatan said about Van Gaal:

We headed to a training camp in Portugal and, by that time Beenhakker had resigned as director and was replaced by Louis van Gaal. Van Gaal was a pompous ass. He was a little like Co Adriaanse. He wanted to be a dictator, without a hint of a gleam in his eye. As a player, he'd never stood out, but he was revered in the Netherlands because, as a manager, he'd won the Champions League with Ajax and received some medal from the government.

Van Gaal liked to talk about playing systems. He was one of those in the club who referred to the players as numbers. There was a lot of Five goes here and Six goes there, and I was glad when I could avoid him. In Portugal, I couldn't escape. I had to go in for a meeting with van Gaal and Koeman and listen to how they viewed my contribution in the first half of the season. It was like a performance review with grades, the kind of thing they loved at Ajax. I went into an office there and sat down in front of van Gaal and Ronald Koeman. Koeman smiled. Van Gaal looked sullen.

"Zlatan," said Koeman, "you've played brilliantly, but you're only getting an eight. You haven't worked hard enough at the back."

"Okay, fine," I said, wanting to leave.

I liked Koeman, but couldn't cope with van Gaal, and I thought, Great, an eight will do me. Can I have a break now?

"Do you know how to play in defence?" Van Gaal was sticking his oar in, and I could see that Koeman was getting annoyed too.

"I hope so," I replied.

Then van Gaal started to explain, and, believe me, I'd heard it all before. It was the same old stuff about how Nine—that is, me— defends to the right, while Ten goes to the left, and vice versa, and he drew a bunch of arrows and finished with a really harsh "Do you understand? Do you get all this?," and I took it as an attack.

"You can wake up any of the players at three in the morning," I said, "and ask them how to defend and they'll rattle it off in their sleep: Nine goes here and Ten goes there. We know that stuff, and we know you're the one who came up with it. But I've trained with van Basten, and he thinks otherwise."

"Excuse me?"

"Van Basten says Number Nine should save his strength for attacking and scoring goals, and, to tell the truth, now I don't know who I should listen to, van Basten – who's a legend – or van Gaal?" I said, putting special emphasis on the name van Gaal, as if he were some completely insignificant figure.

And what do you reckon? Was he happy?

He was fuming. Who should I listen to, a legend or van Gaal? "I've gotta go now," I said, and got out of there.

Honestly believe he's seeing a different game to the rest of us. He also hears us constantly singing "Louis Van Gaal's red aaarmy" so he might be heading things aswell as seeing them. I hope he retired gracefully on the back of the FA Cup win and doesn't get talked into writing books blaming the club, players or fans for our failure this season.

Some drama queens in here....

What do you expect the club to do?. Announce that the manager is leaving just before a cup final. and if we lose it, the same lot will moan about how we should have not done that and announced it after the final.

Whatever the decision is, we will not hear till after the final, so hold your horses, we will know one way or the other by next week.

I saw that article.
We don't make mistakes, but don't exhibit in any attacking flair or passion.
We are team of robots (I am a computer programmer and this is exactly how I would program a robot - make no mistakes and always err on the side of caution).

Never read that extract before but Zlatan:lol:

Absolutely bossed LVG there, there's having a massive ego due to knowing how good you are like Zlatan or having a big ego because you're a pompous, stubborn ass like LVG.

I know we'd be getting him well past his best but Zlatan would be great to see, barely any of our players has that arrogance about them any more, it's contagious and gives the crowd confidence rather than the sense of fear and frustration around OT before games these days.

We got to the FA cup finals with him. It was not like he was actively trying to feck us up.
Wanting him gone is one thing, hating his presence is no good.

Hmmm. There's a thin line between the two though and I can easily understand those who have crossed over from disliking him and wanting him gone to actively hating each additional minute he's around...

I also think LVG should go .... but your statement is flawed.

LVG signed Martial (when most people in UK football had never heard of him or rated him) and then understaffed the attacking department so that he would get games. So if Martial bailed out LVG its because LVG designed it to happen that way!

I understand fans are incredibly frustrated by the lack of progress under LVGs management but he has done many good things, even if those are not sufficient to meet our current needs.

Because Giggs convinced him.

It would be embarrassing if we were to sack him before the FA cup final. I am sure even Jose would not want for that to happen.

I have crossed the divide. I hate the man.

But I still wouldnt fire him before the final. Not for him, but for us. I like to believe that as multi-billion business, we can appear more classy than that.

Its like being dumped, then going to slash your exes tyres. For a moment it might feel really good, but its just childish in the end.

I don't hate him but he should be fired before the Bournemouth game.

Well I think we've all sussed out that LVG is a very defensive/cautious and stubborn manager. That said I loved his Ajax side.
That seems like a lifetime ago.

He has been very defensive over the last few years. The one constant with him has been the arrogance. Koeman absolutely hated him for that, as it it undermined him as manager when they worked together at Ajax.

It wont really achieve much. It will spite him, but so what. Two more games, one meaningless too, and this reign of terror is over.

I think what would give everyone a good morale boost is announcing that he will be leaving after the final. Right now , they are fans that are petrified that him winning the cup might get him a reprieve.

I did too.
That was 20 years ago, though.
Many posters on this forum were not alive at that time.
