it feels like both he and players are going through the motions now.
No passion or spirit in the side. Add that to a paper-thin squad and lack of real quality in key areas and you can see why we're in the state we're in.

LvG should have seen these issues - he either didn't, or arrogantly ignored them. The board should have acted at Christmas when it became obvious.

If this were a boxing match the ref would've stepped in ages ago. Shocking that LVG hasn't been put out of his misery.

This has gone beyond ridiculous, sack him tonight, in the morning just before he can cost us 3 more points on Sunday.

And sack Giggs, he's to blame just as much as Moyes and LVG.

I could handle Moyes to an extent because even when he was completely out of his depth, he at least looked like he gave a shit. And I don't really care about whether or not he gets out of his seat but we're 3 goals down against Liverpool and neither the tactics or the substitutions suggested that Van Gaal was actually desperate to win.

Just changed my vote from see out the end of the season to sack him now, can't handle it any more.

The Moyes season was like a weird car crash...it was terrible, but like a really, really bad day where everything goes wrong for you that you kind of laugh back on a few years later because of how shockingly awful it was, and how you thought it couldn't get worse, but did.

This is just boring. It's sitting in front of the TV watching repeats of QVC for 9 hours. There's just no effort. A game like tonight sums it up, as you say. We need goals, yet LVG just makes no attempt to get the team to play in a way which will actually get them.

I genuinely hate this man with every fiber of my being. The sight of his smug, stupid face makes my blood boil.

Feels like he is trying to get sacked but Woodward and the Board refuse to take the hint out of a misguided idea that it would be a panic move. The guy's ongoing presence at Manchester United is a crushing embarrassment and an indictment of the level of incompetence at the club in decision making. I can only hope that when (as surely he has to) he is gone at the end of the season, Woodward joins him out.

I didn't even hate David Moyes, just thought he was way out of he's depth. At this point though I hate LVG, with a passion. It's getting worse week by week.

Why is he still here? Give Joyce the job till the end of the season.. He deserves it..
And there is no way we will be any worse.

Then start fresh in the summer.

The FA cup is the last hope of getting something this season.. there is no way this side can finish 4th..

Not a single boo was heard. To any match going fan out here. You deserve to pay for that shit if you cant boo him. We are a thick stupid and wannabe t. op red fan base.

Tonight it wasn't his fault, the players let him down.

This would potentially have been one of those great European nights (yes I know it's Europa League but still, that's part of the overall problem anyway), 2-0 down 2nd leg at home against your bittle rivals.

Could have been a special night, instead a limp BS display capped off with defensive substitutions when we needed to score..... lovely.

I honestly think no manager at all would be better than Van Gaal right now.

Guys, this feels like the end of Toy Story 3. We are all holding hands as we sink tiwards the incinerator.

Why the hell do we have to wait till we don't have CL next season to sack a manager? If we'd brought in Mourinho in December, the new manager syndrome would probably have carried us to a more comfortable finish to the season.

Most pathetic substitutions I've ever seen. Even Moyes would've gone for it. LVG is a disgrace.

Expecting that from a poor management. Selling all the attackers and now we don't even have any attackers on the bench.

Has he done his post match presser yet? What odds he comes out and fecks Varela under the bus?

LVG can piss off into retirement as a failure. Preferably tonight. It's almost as if he tries to be incompetent.

Tonight it wasn't his fault, the players let him down.

Considering he doesn't actually set foot on the pitch the only way he fails is if the players let him down.

I find what you've stated an odd excuse, there's so many elements of management that contribute to a teams poor performance. That's the reason the manager is the first to be blamed, you can't seperate the two.

It's an affront to this club and it's fans that this man is still in-charge.

Total fecking fraud. He is clueless.

Will the useless board act now or do we need to be humiliated further?

4 games without a win... 9 wins in our last 26 games... 33 goals scored... 28 goals conceded.

Hilarious considering we won 9 of our first 12 games in the season whilst scoring 26 goals.

That defeat really hurt. Can't stand seeing the scousers celebrate like that. Let's see how LVG defends his decisions now. What gets me is that he thinks he's smarter then everyone yet he's the only one that can't see it. You're done Louis. Please leave.

Some of those players shouldn't have been on the pitch. Relying on an exhausted 18 year old is down to Van Gaal's poor decisions.

The pundits on BeiN are saying they essentially saw no signs of a unit for us on the pitch. Even if our players aren't world class, they're all full internationals and, at the tail end of a season, we should be seeing something more cohesive at the very least, but it's like 11 individuals running around.
