I'm trying not to be knee jerk, but I am honestly considering not watching another United game this season in protest. Won't mean diddly-squat to the club, but it'll mean something to me.

The endless support of the fans, is not helping anyone at this point. I hope we start to see mass protests. This is beyond a joke.

He should what he says he would do and walk away. But he won't because he talks shit.

That performance from United was unacceptable. Van Gaal's team looked as lifeless as he hismelf.

In my lifetime, I have never seen a performance like this against Liverpool.
Every time you think we reach a new low, we fall further.

And to think they are a few here who think LVG should be given another season...feck them.

this has been going on for months so it's not knee jerk any more.

What about the 3-0 under Moyes at OT?

I totally understand and agree with how you feel. I am in a different timezone and was actually debating whether to set the alarm to get up to watch. So glad I didn't. I don't think folks like us are being overly pessimistic or negative like some LVG supporters are branding us to be. It's just that this season has been a massive debacle papered over by a few wins here and there which allows the revisionists and apologists to continue their own narrative of this underwhelming LVG reign.

What is very clear is that this club has fundamental issues going right to the top and how the Glazers are running this club. Detractors will say we don't really know the inner workings and the club is obviously doing well financially. But what are lot of people are not willing to acknowledge is that what matters the most, the product on the pitch (not just quality but passion and committment required of a United player) has been sorely failing. The football operations which fans can actually intelligently assess have also been vastly subpar. People have eyes and brains. It's not hard to see this club is floundering and LVG is a part of the malaise and will not ever be the solution. I utterly do not understand why some people can say LVG should be given time. It's a failed marriage. There is a mechanism to end this state of being, it's called a divorce. Hopefully it will make sense to the board soon. An interim, whoever it is, may offer a fresh breath to the players as it is abundantly clear, despite all protestations to the contrary, they have tuned him out.

Mate he has been talking utter crap all season. The amusement associated with him giving inane diatribes has long worn off.

it's been a while sine the last time i was actually looking forwards to watch a Man United game. Van Gaal managed to squeeze my passion towards the game.

I'm actually not looking forwards to any positives under this deluded idiot. Hopefully it will be an exciting end to the season with anyone BUT Arsenal winning the league.

The players didn't necessarily cover themselves in glory tonight, but to be honest, the tactics on show today were awful.

First half: Sit deep, don't press, allow Liverpool have the ball. Blind stick to Sturridge. Varea stick to Coutinho.
Them two got pulled out of position so much, it left gaps for Liverpool to feed the ball in to

Second half: Play with no striker, Blind playing left wing back, press higher.
We actually looked a bit better, but the amount of times Blind got forward, and with us losing the ball, it gave Clyne freedom of the right wing as Blind can't get back.
When we did get the ball forward, we had nobody to cross it too..... Oh wait, yeah, Mata was in the box, our shortest player.

The tactics today where shocking. In my opinion it wasn't a pen, and their second goal was offside, but it doesn't change the fact that the best team got the result they deserved tonight

Didn't watch the game. No forward in second half? Why not?

Fans keep saying if he loses this game or that game, he will go.
How many games has this guy to lose before he goes?
If he was managing Madrid and they were in 6th, he'd have been lynched by now.

"Ah... you have been so daft. We are not RM. Stop living in the past". This is what LVG would tell you.

One of the main problems you have had is that you have replaced good (but not world class players , apart from Di Maria) with one's that have turned out to be worse then what you already had. On top of that nearly all the ones you have decided to keep have regressed since Fergie left. Then you have young players being introduced who are IMO not Manchester United level or certainly not going to be United superstars - I just haven't seen enough ability there and whilst it's nice to see players from your academy come through they have to be good enough or else it's a bit pointless really. When you add in the fact that you have had the injuries then it's no surprise to see you struggling.

Not completely exusing Van Gaal because I think more of an effort could have been put in to play a more exciting and high tempo kind of football which the fans could have brought into. He's certainly made some questionable decisions regarding team selection too. But unless he's having a major say in the transfers at the club (which I don't believe he is) then I think a lot of your problems are not specifically because of LVG.
Yeah right.

Which United manager has ever had transfers dictated to him? Even Moyes went after his own players. And by who, seeing as our executive consist of the Glazers and Woodward, who know feck all about football.

This is just like any generic comment on sites like the daily mail from people who simply makes cliched comments on United based on whatever media narrative, when the rest of us actually endure this week in and out and can actually make an informed assessment.

22-10-13 in all comps this season (49%). Since the start of October, it's 13-9-11 in all comps (39%). LVG has a 50.6% win pct in his time here.

Moyes finished at 53% overall.

I think that since Nov 2015 LVG should have been shown the door.

I admit that on the back of the memories of his Ajax team I was optimistic when he arrived but I must admit I feel that LVG is a spent force.

I would love to be proved wrong but I won't be.

He will be saved by a 0-0 draw against Villa in a few weeks. How could he leave after performance like that etc.

In theory the switch to 3-5-2 is about all Van Gaal has really accomplished in his time here. It means there are three central players and two withdrawn players when not in possession and essentially five at the back with two defensive players in front of them.

It is the most bizarre form of anti-football to cheat actually having to play football I think I've ever seen. It's like a boxer dancing with his gloves up for a whole round instead of looking to throw counter shots instead. Basically having no faith in us playing football so we play the opposite of football and flood the middle and don't take risks by keeping the ball.

Just really really bizarre. I yearn for 11 v 11 again, we may lose some games but you know what we may play some football and win some as well!

The fact that he is still our manager is baffling. He literally has nothing going for him, no hope of European qualification, in a cutthroat industry where people have been sacked for much much less.

At this point it won't make a difference, but im pretty sure that if he had been sacked after Norwich, we would be better placed to at least have a go at finishing top four.

He's clueless. Rashford doing a job at right back (wtf?) and then gets subbed whilst Memphis, who was a waste of space, remains on the pitch. Van Gaal really is useless with substitutions. Should of gone ages ago. Like with Moyes we''ll probably get rid once our season is totally over or in the summer.

Isn't it already? I can almost guarantee a loss against west ham.

Well it's not over, but I think it will be next Thursday at about 10pm. I fully expect West Ham to win like you and no way we are scoring 3 and keeping a clean sheet next Thursday.

The club has learnt nothing from Moyes' tenure. Remarkable really.

Evaluate at end of the season should be changed to sack at the end of the season because there is nothing to evaluate, he has been a huge failure in every aspect of his job.

Didn't say anothing of note yet again.

Outlook for the second leg: "We have to create another atmosphere like Liverpool have done with their fans. We have to give pressure to them. We did that in the second half but not the first half."

You fecking shit! OUR supporters were the ones chanting most of the match. Their fans only know 1 fecking song. The fact you can't tell the difference, Louis, is a fecking disgrace. If you performed anyway like our away supporters we wouldn't be in this shit. We'd be winning the league. You don't deserve the support you get.

Did Mignolet have anything whatsoever to do? I remember an easy catch but that's all. Before LVG I don't remember watching us not make a keeper work all game. Now it's a regular occurrence.

Any match going fans planning on making a stand on Sunday?!
Can't see us beating West Ham.... Its long past time we shoved it down this arrogant pr1cks throat that just because he walks past some day-fans and the friends & family section of the crowd who applaud him, that he's not welcome at OT.

Something has to give, there has to be a vocal outlet at OT?!

He's become like a turd that refuses to be flushed away. And Woodward, presumably a filthy bastard, is happy to let it stink up the bathroom.

Don't worry guys, foundations are being laid. What we are witnessing is history. Our beloved club being catapulted into a modern football behemoth right in front of our eyes. Only in hindsight we'll be able to appreciate the work of Superbatman Woody and masterful tactician VG.

Don't be impatient sods of the internet variety. 2035, when the fruits of Woody's and VG's labor will be realized, isn't far off.

Patience people, patience.
Don't forget - all the titles we might win over the next 5 decades, plus England lifting any trophy, will all be because of these stellar foundations.

A sleeping Mignolet was carried off the pitch and tucked in his bed after the FT whistle.

If Mourinho can't start until July then it explains why he's still in charge. fecking excruciating though
