I refuse to believe that any manager's job is safe, regardless of results.
If Guardiloa took MCFC to 6th place in his 2nd season, he'll fired so quickly, he won't realise what just happened.
Nobody, is unsackable.

And if he is unsackable, the Glazers will most likely sack Woodward and ask the new guy to sack LVG.
Too much money is riding on this.
Have you not seen our revenue? They have gone to record levels despite the fact that we are no longer competitive. Maybe Woodward gets more time to feck up because he is able to salvage our brand with his commercial nous. It would make sense as we all know why the Glazers are here. They are not some Sheik or Oligarch who want world domination. They want dollar bills. Therefore if the guy who generates dollar bills is also in charge of the football decisions, you give him as much time as he needs so long as he protects your interests (financial). For some magical reasons unknown Woody seems to make it rain irrespective of our current plight

But surely anyone can realise that our commercial success is linked to results on the pitch? We cant live off past glories forever.

Indeed.
And I'm 100% sure Woodward & The Glazers are aware of this.
Fergie and Charlton - not sure about them.

Surely he's not going to be in the job next season. And surely, despite a lot of incompetence, the board won't appoint Ryan. What I do worry about though is how we are going to acquire players this summer when we've yet again failed to qualify for the CL.

There must be a fairly good reason for not having sacked Louis already. Either they've set their sights on Jose and he's not willing to join before the end of the season or they are barking up some unrealistic tree.

Exactly, no manager is safe in this day and age.
The fact that we are missing out on the Champs league money 2 out of 3 years will not sit well with the Glazers as ca$h rules everything around those feckers.

I am pretty sure LVG is gone at the end of this season, with Jose to come in. The stakes are too high.

Wenger and the Glazers would get on well. CL qualification (just) every year. Spend zilch. £150m cash reserves that they can plunder for other ventures. Feck football and feck the fans.

Gattuso: "I’d walk to Manchester for United job"

Gennaro Gattuso has said that he would “walk” to Manchester for a chance to manage United.

Current United boss Louis van Gaal is under intense pressure at Old Trafford, with his side sixth in the Premier League, and having suffered an ignominious exit from the Champions League group stages.

Jose Mourinho was once backed as the favourite to replace the Dutchman in the summer, but current assistant manager Ryan Giggs is also one of the frontrunners.

However, despite currently managing in Serie C with Pisa, Italy and AC Milan legend Gattuso has emerged as an (im)possible contender.

“I’d walk there. I’d even go tomorrow,” Gattuso told The Sun, when asked if he’d take over for Van Gaal if given the chance. “[Sir Alex] Ferguson has always respected me – and I have always admired the Premier League which, for me, is the best league in the world.

“In Italy, we are tactical masters, but in England you see pacy players with great strength in their legs.

“I love watching the Championship, because in those games, I see true love that people in England have for football. They breathe football,” added the former Palermo manager. “I record two Championship matches a night.

“In Italy, some teams can relax during games. In England, with every action of a team, there is a corresponding action from the opposition.”

I think what we are lacking is a manager who can spot great strength in legs. Ferguson had it, but he is gone now

I read this yesterday in application news feed on iPhone too, cannot remember the source. Apparently he has been reassured that the job is his regardless of results and he will be given money to rebuild. Are we the worst run club in the world, if this is true?

I don't usually listen to the papers, but I have this feeling of dread in the pit of my stomach that it's true.

If he does stay on then the decision makers at this club shouldn't be in jobs!

According to a newspaper survey published today, Ed Woodward is the highest-paid executive in the League (over £2.5m per year!).

It makes perfect sense to bring him if the manager next year is Mourinho. The two have a special relationship and work well together. But be careful what you wish for -- even though Zlatan is a beast, his age is getting up there, and should he decline his personality may not be able to handle it that well.

If LVG or Giggs is in charge next season, I would never do it. But with Mourinho, I would.

That's fantastic. Can you hold the director of football job ? No one's seems to care in this club anymore.

I think Woodward is a great salesman and a superb leader. I also think he care about our club. I think the situation we are in is very complex and Woodward cant take all the blame.

That said; we need to see changes in the summer and I know we will. Mourinho being one of them.

Agreed re MCFC and Guardiloa but if it was MUFC they'd probably extend his contract!

Seriously though we should be looking to get shut of Woodward, LVG and Giggs. Plus anyone who's been pushing for a Giggs baptism of fire and that includes SAF.

He may care and even register himself on Redcafe to tell us about it but saying that we can do on a transfer market what other clubs can dream about was a bit childish for him to say. We still about to witness these things and players that will change the game for us but yeah, Mourinho and changes being done through him may lead to something great despite the fear of club losing it's academy traditions and club's identity.

If LvG had full two years then perhaps we could give the same amount to someone who won already loads in the Premier League. If he'll also give chances to youngsters and make them one of the club's main traits then he can stay here for the rest of his career if he really like English climate and culture that much. It will be up to him to make himself stay, just another motivator for him to win something here.

Not sure what i am most afraid of, LvG one more year in charge of United, or Donald Trump in charge of USA.
Too close to call.

Let me put it this way: I'd rather see The Donald as POTUS rather than keeping LvG one more year. Honest to God!

Lose to Liverpool and West Ham and LVG should himself retire at the end of the season. I wouln't want him to get sacked.

If he wins against Liverpool and manages to get a hand on the FA cup, think he should be allowed to continue. Another cavaet being, he sells Rooney, Fellaini & Carrick.

The inclusion of Fellaini in centre mid is criminal. Again.

Also, note how his substitutions during the game have no bearing on how the game is panning out in front of him. Predetermined, robotic, predictable terribleness.

It's true.... He's been at it all season, brought Jones on with 10 to go at 1-2 down to Norwich.
Brought Fosu-Mensah on last weekend with 10 to go 1-0 down to West Brom.

He's completely clueless, the recent 'run' was down to a forced selection and poor opponents.

As said 1,030,494 times already - this is on Woodward now. He's the cock who's keeping Van Gaal at the helm.

Club is fecked. It really is with such morons running it.

I look forward to Carrick coming on for Mata in the second half so that i can weep

big fell , what does he do really? 3rd striker , 5th choice ctr mid , target man? shite!
