He has left us with a squad full of rubbish.

Of the senior players we have:
De Gea,Smalling,Martial and hopefully Shaw when he comes back that are worthy of the shirt.

Says it all.

I'm really looking forward to everything Van Gaal has been blamed for suddenly not being his replacement's fault when we have results like this. Especially if it is Maureen.

If the replacement is given hundreds of millions to spend and we're this fecking dull and shit nearly 2 years into his reign than I can promise you he'll be getting stick too.

On the plus side, you could get 7/2 on West Brom to win at kick off. 7/2! Given we've been generally shit away from home, and struggle with strong, aggressive, well organised teams, it was easy money. *£50.00 better off*

On the down side, it's another set back after a brief period of looking half-decent.

And our next four games are West Ham (H), City (A), Everton (H) and Tottenham (A).
We win those then lose to Villa.

He's useless. His management style is outdated and irrelevant, and it certainly doesn't work in the premier league.

The amazing thing (well, not amazing, really) is that West Brom haven't shown the slightest ambition even with 10 men. We were growing into the game in the 2nd half, Martial made a couple of good advances, and he takes Herrera off! The man is clueless with his subs. He is just as bad if not worse than Wenger. You could roll out a truck filled with coffins to play against you and he'll still mess it up.

That sub arguably got West Brom in the game.

We'll never win the league under Van Gaal. Guy can't resist making bad decisions which ruins any chance we have of making some sort of title worthy winning run.

If LVG's replacement also gets us 6th place (yes, we are in 6th place now), then he will also deserve all the criticism he gets.
MUFC, for all their resources, in 6th place, is unacceptable.
If the replacement is given hundreds of millions to spend and we're this fecking dull and shit nearly 2 years into his reign than I can promise you he'll be getting stick too.
I'll believe it when I see it. Again, especially if it's Maureen.
We've already had people claim his shit summer signings were forced on him when he's not been manager, imagine what conspiracy theories will appear if and when he is.

To think that people in this thread were talking him up and changing their vote on the poll because we beat Shrewsbury, made hard work of some nobodies from Denmark and beat Arsenal during their annual bottle job.
I prefer being positive than constantly moaning

Enjoy the good days when they don't come round too often

I will be back on board If we beat Liverpool on Thursday

Anyone else notice a trend?

We reach such a low like when we lost to that Danish team, that Van Gaal seems to abandon his philosophy. The game against Arsenal the young kids just went out and played and it was great to watch.

Then, when we get to a point where there is not much talk of him being sacked or anything, he can't help but once again attempt to implement this utter fecking shit football.

He needs to go. He is a disease.

The last few weeks have taught me that I honestly think if he had been sacked after Norwich we would be right up there at the top of the league.

Phew, I was beginning to have second thoughts about hoping he gets sacked. LvG has restored my faith in my own judgement.

These threads are pretty pointless now I think.
We know Mourinho will be here next season.

We've still got 8 odd games of PL football and two cups to play for. I'd rather we have a chance in the cup competitions while actually enjoying us play our final league games. I suspect LVG fecking off might help.

he was always out. i never bought the he's in sentiments.

I could count the excellent games we had under him since he took over in one hand. Be trash and will always be trash under him.

No, but we've been playing well lately - what's the point of bumping this thread today?
Did you miss the first leg against midgetland and the home game vs Watford? We have been absolutely woeful in 3 out of our last 6 games. 4 of which were against so-called minnows. How does that equate to 'playing well recently'?

Some shocking decisions from him today. Waiting until when he did to bring Memphis on when it was obvious we had no threat. The TFM sub was a joke as was not taking Carrick off over Herrera.

Why Varela didn't start or Memphis is beyond me. To say Blind needs a rest them play him anyway? Crazy. Final straw for me was beginning to think he was turning it around but that was spineless. How ironic that Mata the player who needs to avoid us replacing LVG with Mourinho costs us our top 4 chances.

Ander Herrera £29,000,000
Luke Shaw £27,000,000
Marcos Rojo £16,000,000
Ángel Di María £59,700,000
Daley Blind £13,800,000
Victor Valdez Free
Falcao Loan
Memphis Depay £25,000,000
Matteo Darmian £12,700,000
Morgan Schneiderlin £24,000,000
Bastian Schweinsteiger £6,500,000
Sergio Romero Free
Anthony Martial £35,000,000

So few real success stories in that list.

But the worrying thing with that is pretty much all of those signings were applauded as masterstrokes at the time, bar the two keeper freebies.

Everyone with balance appreciated that we had seen off a league 1 team, a no mark European team on a break, and massively struggled to see Watford off.
The Arsenal game was terrific, but very much an outlier.

Not for the first time under Van Gaal, the opposition goalkeeper may as well have stayed at home. When we were behind or level under Fergie, you always watched anxiously as the fourth official put up his time board as every extra minute increased our chances of getting a goal. Now you just want as little added time as possible so you don't have to endure more of this garbage.

It is his players. Let the new manager get 2 years with millions to spend. If, despite that, he is on course to having a worse season than Moyes then he will get similar stick.

You behave as if people want Maureen because he is their lover. LVG was also hailed when he joined us. Turns out he is shite. Maureen will have equal trash thrown at him if he is this poor.

Although it would be interesting to see if you defend Maureen as strongly as you defend LVG.

That was THE time to sack him. That was such a massive low. I think he himself knew that he should go there, from his demeanour trudging away. He also started talking about "maybe resigning" before being sacked.

After that it was clear no circumstances would cause a sacking.

Therefore, now as per then, we're seeing out the last two months.

Not all bad, we do at least have a decent shot in 2 cups, and we can also try and ruck up some rivals league pursuits.

But roll on the summer. Could be an exciting one.

Why though? You can support the team and want them to do well without wanting van Gaal to stay on. What about this season has convinced you that van Gaal is the right man for the job? We're worse off in terms of league position and are struggling to qualify for the Champions League in a season where Chelsea have been a laughing stock for half of it, Liverpool are a shadow of the team they were a couple of seasons ago, Arsenal are nothing special and City are inconsistent. It should be a given that we're finishing top four and on top of that the football hasn't really improved at all.

Predictably blaming the ref and the sending off for us losing the game. Claims that it changed the game because we barely gave West Ham (his words) any chances. The only chance we gave was pretty much the goal. Not an unfair assessment, but I wish the interviewer would have asked him why we didn't look like we actually wanted to win the match.

That is a perfect analogy. Willing to gloss over their self-induced circus and thinking they can change his negative and borderline abusive ways is pretty much exactly the majority of the Cafe's way of looking at Maureen. It's a Jeremy Kyle show waiting to happen.

Defend LVG? At worst (from the LVG out brigade's perspective) I've pointed out he's not alone in shouldering the blame for this season and pointed in the direction of the senior players. Low and behold, they let us down again today.

Where is this possession philosophy when we need it? He's a complete and utter fraud of a manager. Past it. Our academy coaches and players are keeping this guy afloat. More crap subs. More games where this bell is absent from the touchline.

Worse than Moyes, can't believe I'm saying that. No way did we play this many games with this few chances under Moyes. Two useless cnuts in charge of this club. What a shocking change over from Sir Alex. They'll write about this for years to come.

Yes the senior players are to blame as well. No doubt about that. But Fergie was able to get the best out of even average players while LVG cannot get the best out of his best players. This is a severe indictment of his ability as a manager.

We had a run of what? 4 wins in a row. 4 wins in a row is considered a run of form for Manchester United these days. That's how much standard has dropped with our current management.

I think that might be a push but we would certainly be in good position for 3rd/4th with a couple of results in December.

What's amazed me lately is that LVG is almost a mirror image of Wenger in his thick-headedness and how he keeps slipping up against poor teams. Then he gets some kind of a small run together and the cycle continues. Only difference is that Wenger has won a couple of trophies the past two seasons.

It's not just LVG's tactics though - Looking at your lineup today, there's not much real quality to be had.

There is a world of difference between a backline of Neville/Rafael,Ferdinand,Vidic,Evra and what you put out there today. Only Smalling is real quality. The rest are your run of the mill journeymen top 4 squaddies who are good enough to make the squad and put in a shift, but won't play a part in raising the level of the team.

Up front was a bunch of kids and Mata and the only players that looks like improving on that is Rooney, which is in itself tragic.

Midfield is good on paper. LVG isn't getting enough from them.

Qualitywise, you are about the same as we are and Arsenal were a few years ago. Decent top four squad - Severe lack of profiles who are a cut above squaddie.

Both liverpool and arsenal made attacking substitutions when down to 10 and proved successful. Let's see how he deals with this situation.

As usual he screwed it up, and made it worse not taking carrick off instead of Hererra!

Losses against Bournemouth, Sunderland, Norwich, Swansea, WBA as well as draws against Newcastle (twice) and Palace. 7 of the worst teams in the league and we lost over 20 points to them.

Yet people defend him:wenger:

Yeah or maybe the opposition score another while we piss about going sideways while putting more defensive players on, he's taken all my joy out of watching us, I think he's going to stay until the end of the season but he fecking shouldn't, he just pisses me off being a cocky smug arsehole, and I was excited when he was coming, he's far worse than Moyes!

We've bought well, but used the players atrociously.

Might as well have gone and bought average mid-table playmakers from Spain and filled our squad with tippy-tappy players. Would have worked better with this style of football.

Players should just start ignoring his instructions and play as they wish. What's he gonna do, bench the entire squad?
