It's actually funny how much people laugh at the players Liverpool have yet they can, at times, attack and pass it with a real verve, whereas we can't play to decent passes in a row.

They scored 5 goals in a game today. I can't even comprehend our team scoring five goals in a week.

Didn't see it coming today. Thought the next 3 games after were a much bigger lose risk.

Damm. For the first time, after a lot of denial, I think we're in real trouble for top 4.

I think I owe Di Maria an apology, called him a pussy for leaving United and while his attitude should've been better i can completely understand how he became so disheartened because of van Gaal.

He probably knew straight away that it was not worth being dragged down with the Dutch cnut and decided to cut his losses. Do not blame him one bit.

Woodward needs to get his shit together and do what's necessary until it's not too late.

Serious trouble. 0 chance if VG stays I reckon.

It took me till the end of January, but in my heart I think it's time.

No real progression, not a consistent sense of urgency, and just too many times the same things are happening.

Trouble? I've pretty much written it off.

Watch him. He is a dead man walking. He is done with football in general probably. The board should release him. He will be furious - but deep inside he will know that it was the right thing to do. And in a few weeks he could become one of those old, angry tv-experts in dutch football, telling the youngsters that he knows it best.

I expect Giggs to be announced as interim solution (again) in the next two days.

Van Gaal has a way of making people want to clean toilets a better job than working for that thing they call VG, the MUFC manager

I was convinced we were going to sack him against Norwich. Was honestly gutted when he didn't go, it just seemed like the obvious thing to do.

I'm in a sad state where I feel like he will continue on.

Unless some people can't be bothered changing their vote, there's still a fairly substantial number of people who would keep him until the end of the season.

Just out of interest, if you're one of those people what's your thinking? Genuinely interested.

6 wins in the last 21 games for Manchester United.
Can't think of any big club in world football which wouldn't have sacked Van Gaal by now.

from Twitter.

Well at this rate, we won't make Top 4, and that will get him fired before season ends. Same with Moyes.

Yeah I don't think there's any, either.
Only our club is now scared of spoiling their reputation as not being a sacking club. This guy is harming our reputation beyond repair at the moment. There have been managers out there who have been sacked when they have won something the previous year.

I really hope the only reason he hasn't been sacked is cause we have Guardiola lined up at the end of the season. But I doubt it.

We clearly ain't going to be getting Mourinho as I think if we really wanted him he would be our manager by now.

The future just looks so bleak. We are getting more and more like Liverpool every day. We all knew losing SAF would be hard but I never though it would be like this.

We have bought it on ourselves though. Ever since we lost Fergie and Gill it has just been one bad decision after another. We honestly are the laughing stocks of the Premier League.

And there's plenty that would have sacked him last season. Screw this whole notion of 'not being a sacking club', what's wrong with having high standards?

Either that, or Giggs is the next manager and can't be put in such heat immediately. Can't think of any other reason.

Funny thing is, it's going to be an even more comical summer watching Woodward try to do his "I must sign the biggest names" bit without CL football.

The club is either really believes it is some special little snowflake compared to all the others and we act differently to the other big clubs by standing by our manager no matter what like it's important or we actually don't give a shit about results as long as we're getting sponsors and deals. Either case is bad news.

But even if Pep already signed a secret-super-contract with United... shouldn't we fire Van Gaal now? Why wait for the summer? Even if Interim-Giggs can't get us a top 4 spot...

(a) we should stay optimistic (maybe Giggs can do)
(b) the players will feel released without Van Gaal and can work to get their self confidence back till summer.

Exactly. We would not be a sacking club if we actually had a manager who is doing a decent job and looks like he has a successful future at the club.

When we have an idiot in charge you have to be a sacking club. I cant imagine a reputation being damaged from sacking a man who is taking us further downhill the longer he stays in charge.

Real Madrid are the biggest sacking club going yet they are still the biggest club in the world and successful.

You can tell by the post match comments that he's not going anywhere.

This is a ludicrous situation.

We were so, so bad today.

That thought crossed my mind after after I posted. I don't think straight when I am angry!
