As I understand it, he can't be sacked until the new york stock exchange has been informed of the club's intention to change manager. The NYSE opens at 2.30 pm (uk time) tomorrow. I think this gives LVG one last role of the dice as an announcement isn't going to be made immediately before a big game kicks off. In the likely event we play shit again, I'd expect him to go on the Tuesday, and a deal to be cut with the devil very soon after.

Van Gaal's bought six world class players? He might have paid world class prices but that's as far as it goes.

van Gaal bought a number of expensive players and hardly any of them feature in our first eleven, for whatever reasons.

Over the past three years, we've acquired some quality players, but misused nearly everyone of them.

Imagine an XI as such: De Gea; Darmian; Smalling; Jones; Shaw; Schneiderlin; Herrera, di Maria, Mata; Memphis; Martial. A manager like Mourinho would win the league with this team, in addition to subs such as Blind, BFS, Rooney, Hernandez, Januzaj, Carrick, Young etc.

1-1-1-1-1-3-1-1 seems a strange choice of formation though

van Gaal has failed to turn up for training apparently.

Surely there would have been conformation if he didnt turn up for training. Its 4 in the afternoon. That's a big story if true, yet no big news sources are reporting it. So it seems to be bollocks. Sadly :(

That's because he never got the abuse and snide that LVG got in the first place from the media and ex players. LVG has made big mistakes but for sure the media narrative that was endorsed by our ex players helped to turn the supporters volatile. We were unexciting and everyone started calling us boring - and the fans just helped the media push everything along. Maybe we should have remained a bit calm at that point.

In any case, Moyes had big support from the media and this is why the crowd never got to the point of booing him - at least in my opinion.
Thats not the reason why people didnt turn against him vocally.

They did it for Fergie.

Careful people, don't stray away from being United fans and being LVG-haters. It's the former first and foremost.

I hope the most of us dont hate LvG. Its the club we love and we really care about whats happening. I have more anger with our board. I like LvG; but he have failed :(

The board can feck off if he's not gone before the Chelsea game. The way they've handled this situation has been piss poor to say the least. It's arguably not favorable to Louis either. To make him face the wrath of OT tomorrow wouldn't be fair to him.

It's all stemming from a sky sports news report, on about Giggs arriving on his own by car. From watching Sky Sports most of the day, I didn't see or hear them say Louis wasn't present. Just another Twitter twist and play on words.

Yes, because I go around abusing our manager for not being good enough.

Maybe you are right akash, abusing LVG will really do nothing.
It's the board who is at fault here and I do feel that they are rather useless.

I like Van Gaal. I liked Moyes as well. Just dont want them as our manager.

He may not be sacked until after the Chelsea match. But he can certainly be asked to take a leave of absence until then. That way they will not be in violation of any rules. The new appointment will be made after the match.

Horrible feeling that we're not close to sacking him at all.

it was already a terrible decision to not sack him after the norwich game.

the longer this drags on the more trouble we are in for the forseeable future. it's clear this is not working out and the board are at this point refusing to do the downright obvious, something that even van gaal himself sees is coming.

EDIT: Also this way the manager is not given any credit should we beat Chelsea nor be blamed if we lose. The accumalation of his failures before the Chelsea match would be more than sufficient evidence to relieve him of his duties.

I think we would see a statement from the club stating otherwise if his job wasn't on the line. The silence is too telling. Probably won't happen until after Chelsea which is a mistake in my opinion. Also waiting until after Chelsea says a lot about the boards confidence in Giggs. Why wait until after the Chelsea match unless you have no intention of letting Giggs take the reigns until a new manager is in place? Jose may have told the board he won't come until after Chelsea to save a bit of dignity with the fans. Doesn't sound like the Jose we've seen at other clubs. If the board truly decided to let LVG have two games they're foolish. Again, you have to wonder how much does the stock market play into this and it being a Sunday. Rumors are going to leak regardless. We surely won't announce it the day of the game. Tuesday it is.

I think if he avoids defeat against Chelsea, his job will be safe.
I think if he avoids victory against Chelsea his job will still be safe, because by then Mourinho will have gone back to Real and we'll be left with Giggs.

 Just sack him already. Nothing is going to improve even if we don't lose to Chelsea. It was do or die at Stoke and his master plan was to hoof the ball to Fellaini. That shows us beyond any reasonable doubt that he has no clue how to play attacking football.

this nonsense again!
When did this all start!

I can't believe Madrid are contemplating sacking Benitez. Wait, yes I can.
