He either signed, or promoted, half of those bloody players!

If the squad is a mess then he takes sole responsibility for it. He's had carte blance to build whatever squad he wants.

Not easy when those pussys cant stay fit. Or allways playing with 10 or 9 players when Felli and Rooney are used. We can thank Moyes for that..

Btw I hope he and Giggs will be gone soon.

Has a manager ever imploded quite so quickly? Only seems five minutes ago Schweinstegier was getting us a fluky last minute winner against Watford and whilst the football was crap there was no hint he was under pressure, next thing you know he is teetering on the edge or maybe even over it, amazing how it has unfolded.

He was hanging on by the skin of his teeth, surviving on results. Once the results went the other way he was exposed as the *********** with no clothes. He did have a brief period last season where we went on a run of playing great football and getting results, we dont know if this was down to the manager or if there was a player revolt. He reminds me a bit of Trapatoni with Ireland, a very decorated coach from the past who failed to keep up with the times. Its often said, and never denied that the time Ireland played so well against France (the Terry Henry incident) was down to the players saying "f*ck the coach, we are going for it regardless".

Its a sad end for LVG, and he does seem like a good man. Sometimes I feel sorry for him, then other times I remember he is being paid millions and has spent millions.

I just can't imagine him being on the bench against Chelsea after all the speculation, surely he will go tomorrow? getting nervous to be honest.

I'm hearing silence. Not even fake ITKs on twitter saying he's going to leave or anything. So odd.

Maybe the people that leak certain information are not in the loop this time. If the Glazers have any sense whatsoever they should be firing everybody that brought LVG to the club and supported him through his tenure here. Its been clear for a very long time that he was not suitable.

We need to get Mourinho in before we're completely out of the title race. He can win us the big games and buy a couple of players in January.

Some would say that Maureen will have us scrapping with Chel$ki to see which big club could be in a relegation battle.

Crazy idea that he'd transition (demoted of course) into head of youth development ? We actually need someone there. And Louis' methods, discipline and attention to detail may actually benefit youth players more as there isn't the pressure of getting results. A very much "process" driven thing.

Would salvage pride and would actually be of benefit there. Is this mad?

He'd promote all the left footers and get rid of all the talented players.

His record has been poor with the youth - the likes of Blackett found themselves promoted. Our 3 most talented youngsters have been woefully mismanaged - Januzaj is out on loan to a team who he won't start for when he's good enough to play for us, Wilson got fecked around the bench without any playing time for 18 months and Perreira's also not getting much.

Why would a top world class manager want to be demoted and humiliated like that???

Not even Moyes or Hughes would accept such a humiliation!...

Completely.

Fair enough. I don't see it as embarrasing at all. He began his career by developing some oustanding footballers.

Don't see what either of those would offer to an ambitious youth academy.

I'd suggest that his "youth record" at United doesn't really count. He's come into a situation where he's needed to do major surgery on a team expected to get results. He did go for that mad 5 at the back scenario for a while and it meant using the defenders available to him. He's also given more games to youths than I would expect another manager to do (i.e. Jose), though against Wolfsburg that was a bit mad.

But fair enough..

Woke up at 7.00 am here swearlting, checked if he was gone. HE ISNT !!

How can you blame players for getting injured? If they refuse to play with a minor injury, then you can call them a pussy or whatever. Also, how can you hold Moyes responsible for LvG playing Fellaini and Rooney? You do know that LvG could simply refuse to play them, or get rid of them like he did with a lot of players signed under Fergie? Or that he did not have to make Rooney the captain and make him untouchable?

Got in expecting some news. Twitter is so quiet too, so weird. I would say there's something up, but with us, you never know.

Get rid pronto, should have happened already, do it respectively, let him resign, but not only is the team sliding down the table, the club is being damaged by this, from every conceivable angle he is a complete failure, I don't enjoy watching us play, even when we are winning a match, you can analyse the feck out of why that is the case in various threads, but that is the case, this is horrible and it needs to end. We were stable enough through the horrible football not conceding goals, but even then, De Gea still saved us on several occasions to keep clean sheets, now we are conceding goals for fun and no more likely to score. As a club we cannot be seen to condone what is going on.

Man United lose four straight games for first time since 1961

Yet there is the argument he is a better mgr than Moyes. I'm afraid sticking with Moyes would have had us in a better position right now. What a bad, bad choice this turned out to be.

What a load of crap. LVG may play some dire football but there is set idea and attempted execution of it.
Moyes tactics could simply be narrowed down to, pass it out wide and cross it in....

Moyes was shit.

Not even Moyes managed to do that. Combine that with having that worst Premier league start ever last year, and LvG has broken a few records himself.

Only Blind, Martial, Memphis today.
With Schneiderlin on the bench. He also had to get rid of a player he broke the transfer record for. Check how much the managers at Leicester, Spurs and Palace have spent.

forget moyes, the record goes back past the 70s and 80s which was supposed to be the "dark era" (wasn't even born back then so I don't know the full details) with brief relegation and then liverpool dominating.

The easy thing to do now would be to sack Van Gaal, and employ Mourinho. Not convinced that's what we should be doing when there is a chance of getting Pep in.

I hope we at least try to sort Van Gaal out, get an interim manager, and get Pep to sign papers to take over at the end of the season.

Very mature. Even so, Moyes is still alive so your tense is off.

Let's keep it real... Moyes was complete horse shit from every angle. LVG is not a good fit for this club but he has done a few good things. I wish him the best, but he needs to get the feck out and give Jose a chance (assuming pep is out of the picture).

Is anyone still blind to our players contribution to this as well? You know, the ones on the pitch who sort of have a major role to play in Football?

Because its pathetic. Don't like van Gaal, fine, but they play for United. That should be more than enough motivation.

I was as bad as any when Moyes was here. I wanted him gone (love how his time is revised to suggest he was passionate.... Haha haha hahaha) but in the end I wanted the players held accountable. Thankfully the culprit's were by and large, binned because like now, they were an embarrassment.

Van Gaals made mistakes. On and off the pitch. No doubt about that but the players have been a disgrace in the past few games. These players will still be here after van Gaal, playing like amateurs with hangovers. Name a manager who will fix that? There's one and he's retired.
If they play up to their standards and succeed, how do they get rid of LvG if they do not like him?

It's time the Glazers sell all their stakes and fire themselves at Man Utd then. They were the ones who made the final decisions and gave him 250 millions

That's why they don't see the problem.

"This 'Rooney' youngster seems to be a bit quick, excellent...... will be a fine player one day."
I'm sorry but every time I've heard Sir Bobby speak and if what we read is true, he's stuck in some romantic version of the club while the rest of our rivals are pragmatically moving on.

We are way too 'nice' and need to be more ruthless - it's 2015!

Been through that. I posted in another thread that i will take winning trophies every time ahead of style, and someone called be a bandwagon fan. It was not a pleasant time with Liverpool winning everything in sight. Yea, it would be great winning stuff by playing brilliant football, but winning trophies should come first, but we are getting neither with LvG in charge.

If im referring to Moyes tenure at Manchester United (which I am) than it is past tense...

Similarly, I couldn't give a fecking about eloquence when discussing his management of Manchester United. If it looks like shit and smells like shit, guess what, it's shit. Im not going to diddle daddle around pretending Moyes was anything but toxic for the progression of Manchester United. He woefully mismanaged the summer transfer which the club had spent alot of time and effort in preparing for him. Instead he signed an over the hill striker to a massive 5 year contract and signed one of the most one dimensional (however sometimes useful) players in the premier league. He then proceeded to sign a player that was ill-matched for the football he wanted to play and created further issues trying to select 3 players for the one position.

So in other words David Moyes was fecking shit. He didn't have a clue.

I agree. Rooney and Mata destroyed our attacking creativity and frustrated the crap out of talented strikers. Fellaini should have stayed at Everton.
The problem with LVG was that when he brought in Di Maria and Falcao he should have gotten rid of Rooney and Mata. He could have then had the money to buy a gifted attacking midfielder and also if I were him I would have given Nani a final chance.
