All you fools happy with Giggs taking over may shut your traps when he has us mid table for three seasons.

Although I'm sure you'll be delighted as he'll play the United way. Whatever the feck that means.

Or you can wait for this to happen instead of exciting yourself for nothing.

“We’re Man United, we’re at home, I expect us to win and play well and we want to give the fans something to shout about, play attacking football, score goals, make tackles.

I want them to be brave, attack and enjoy themselves, for that’s what I expect from a Manchester United footballer.

At Manchester United you win together and you lose together and this season we haven’t performed to the standard required. We all have to share responsibilities.

We must be bold, attacking minded and brave.”

Surely the question the hierarchy are mulling over now is "Should we give LVG time?" and not "Giggs or Mourinho?" ?
Once LVG gets the sack, there is no doubt over Mourinho's creds.

Reads like a load of hot air. Some actual instruction would be more helpful I'm sure.

Even Moyes could have rattled off that speech.

Don't we miss out on Adidas money if we fail to qualify for the CL or was it only last year? I don't think Woodward would let it get to that point, neither would the board allow the club to regress into mediocrity and irrelevancy like Liverpool.

Besides, I don't think the club would hire Giggs when we're in the rebuilding phase. He will probably get the chance when the squad will be deemed ready for a title challenge.
I thought the clause only kicked in once we were out of the UCL for two consecutive seasons. If thats true and he got top 6 in his first managerial stint, they would definitely give him a chance for top 4 the next season and back him heavily in the market.

I think if we miss out on the top managers which looks likely at present, and with a lack of up and coming young mangers in the British game, we might just turn to Giggs. He wants the job, knows the club and is a fan favourite.

The Liverpool board did try and prevent that too. Up and until the time Fergie left, I remember reading that they had actually outspent in the premier league era. Once someone else is the top dog, they attract the top talent and build a culture of success. Throwing money around then hardly works.

That's my point, once we reach such a point of regression, our board's actions will hardly matter then.

There is an article in times which cant be posted here as it is paid saying Mata and herrera have let it be known if LVG stays they will leave.

I can't wait for today's wave of journos along with other notable and not so notable characters on Twitter taking a punt on today being the day he's sacked before being inevitably wrong and going quiet until we all listen to them again when we go full circle tomorrow.

Mata might rethink that if Mourinho's the replacement

Pre-match press conference for Stoke match is today. Unless Van Gaal is to use that to call everyone cnut and then storm off, there is no chance of sacking now till end of match vs Stoke at least. Speculations will continue but doubt we will see madness overdrive like yesterday.

He has to go, no matter who he brings in he doesn't have a clue where to play them. It's not just Mata and Herrera. ADM is playing fine at PSG. Memphis has gone backwards. Martial is being shunted all over the place. Young the same. Darmian started well and has now lost all his confidence. The manager is a disaster.
This isn't Ajax U-8's trying to teach them total football. These are seasoned professionals who know their best positions. Pity you don't.

Jose back to Madrid wouldn't shock me - as we've seen repeatedly with players, Real Madrid are immune from any kind of consequences from their circus-like activities, still everyone flocks to the mighty and beautiful Real. They can do no wrong in the eyes of the professionals.

His time there is likely his greatest failure, which he will want to put right. Plus I think the general idea of him wanting to manage United is grossly over-stated - Sir Alex apparently spoke to him about it in 2013 but he went to Chelsea instead knowing what they were like. Also I'm sure he'd love replacing Rafa and doing something with them in the Champions League this season, whereas he is genuinely friendly with LVG so probably wouldn't want to he seen going after his job. And with Ronaldo being in Paris by the summer, he won't have to deal with as many of his old enemies there, so he would be free to make new enemies this time round. Nothing surprising about this connection at all.

If Mourinho goes to Madrid, Pep to City and Ancelotti to Bayern (the third one is confirmed already) while we end with Giggs, I might seriously consider getting mad.

It looks like it's happening unfortunately. If it does, the whole board needs sacking.

Putting all bias aside, if you were Mourinho and you have the choice of coming to us or going to Madrid which would you choose? Ditto Pep and us or City. It's all well and good saying we need to get one of the top managers in but if they've got better offers on the table what can we do?

Just on BBC. Doesn't look legit though.

Recently I've noticed this trend with the BBC putting clickbait headlines on their homepage like this - LVG TO LEAVE 'SOONER RATHER THAN LATER' - only for you to click on it and it's actually just a quote from some no-mark journeyman player like this Jan Age Fjortoft bloke directing traffic to some shite radio.

It's a shame the BBC feels it has to follow this model which is the new online normal for even the most respectable newspapers now. Normally if I'd seen a headline like that on the BBC I'd expect it to be from a credible source or one of their more clued in journalists. Not the Norwegian version of Danny Mills.

Will it mean fans like yourself will feck off?

You have to be proactive and set up agreements with managers before your competition. It's that simple.

City have put in groundwork for Pep via the player deal that lead to his agent receiving some healthy funds (forgot his name). Bayern were swift with Ancelotti, they didn't waste time waiting for Pep to decide if he wanted to re-sign or not. They understand the importance of planning two steps ahead.

Now Perez sees an opportunity for Jose and he may go for it even at the cost of benetiz because he understands that a manager like Jose won't be on the market for long and also understands that Jose is an upgrade on the current manager. The market is savage and a "wait and see" approach is hazardous.

Not to suggest we should fire managers who aren't underperforming, but LVG clearly is. He's not close to losing his job because he isn't first in the league, even losing out on CL would of been fine if league results saw us at least competing but we're now spiralling downwards and unsure of a top 4 finish.

A Giggs vs LVG vs Mourinho poll would be interesting.
Woody has been wanting to have one in the hidden 'United Board' forum for ages but since those permissions were restricted they've not been able to.

Basically it's all Paz' fault that LVG isn't sacked yet.

If we lose at Stoke the atmosphere against Chelsea will be interesting. It will start off well as they will want to get behind the team. but god help LvG if Chelsea take the lead. I can just see Chelsea turning up big time for this game. It will all depend on how the players are viewing the situation. Unfortunately. You would hope a big game will fire them up.

Mata can go, he has generally been a let down. Herrera would have legitimate concerns. Anyway it's a matter of when and not if Van Gaal is leaving.

Mendes leak to put pressure on Woodward knowing the English press are all over LVG right now. Also reasserts the status of his client. Win win for him.
