Don't worry, Col. You've got some way to go before reaching Howard Nurse status - he's only just realised that we're not still Newton Heath.

Don't want Giggs as interim or permanent manager at all.

And we need to stop forcing him on every new manager as well.

If he wants to manage us then he needs to go manage someone for a few years and prove he's up to it.

Putting him in charge now would be nothing but romantic bullsh#t and I think we'd end up in a terrible mess.

He has next to zero experience of management and I don't buy 'he knows the club inside out' either, so does Hughes, so does Robson, so does Bruce and so does Ron frickin Atkinson.

We have to get a proven name right away.

We're sorry LVG, we will delete every bad post and thread about you.

Now let's get behind him and beat Stoke GGMU
:lol::lol::lol:

Be careful what you wish for etc etc....

God this better not be true about Giggs. Please noooooooooooo!

Absolutely. Wonder what our shareholders and sponsors would think of this crazy decision? The club has gone mad if they do this.

IF we're sacking him now. Then it's because Mourinho is available, surely?!

If we're waiting for Pep, then stick with LVG until the summer.

I don't want to envisage a scenario where Ryan Giggs is our manager.

If the players are refusing to respond to Van Gaal, we might have no choice.
I also don't want Giggs as interim, not to talk of permanent but if it means Pep is coming, I'm willing to accept it.

We are on overdrive. I don't think LVG is that close to being axed. Woodwood said various times over the summer that the board is completely behind the manager, and our current number of injuries is plain as day.

I would imagine that he'll get a few games over X-Mas to turn this around, and if that doesn't happen - the club will be in talks to sort out the next manager over the summer. LVG will probably get sacked only if we are in real danger of dropping out of the top 4 towards the end of the season. Right now, we aren't that far behind (just goal difference).

I'm thinking the same, injuries will probably buy him some time.

Although Moyes wasn't sacked until the Tuesday, there were widespread reports and it was pretty common knowledge on the Monday afternoon. I think there would be more fanfare if LVG was going today.

I hope I'm wrong.

I really think that having Giggs as manager would be a huge mistake. Of course it would be a dream for him to succeed. By success, I mean being in the top four, but he has no experience and even with a top coach like Van Gaal, we're struggling, it would be a suicide for us to having Giggs as number one for more than 3/4 games.

I’m sure that now, we have no choice but sacking Van Gaal, and appointing a strong technician there. We have also no choice about who this coach should be. Mourinho is the candidate. We won’t have Pep for sure, so the “rest” is still one of the best.

Appoint Giggs as an interim boss, only to shock the players, until the Swansea game, and then give it to Mourinho. Whether we also sack Stuivenberg + Hoek + Bout we’ll see, but we should let Mourinho having his own staff here (Giggs or not).

The whole point of Giggs taking over in the first place, was to come into the job after LVG has laid the foundations for success and in the process teach him valuable managerial traits. Neither of those things has happened, the plan has failed. The club needs to lick it's wounds and move the feck on to a logical plan, simple as that.

I don't know why he clamour for him to be sacked today. The club might want to confirm who's taking over before letting him go. Relax people.

The "rot" started a long time before we were injured.
Scoring an average of 1 goal per game - do you think this is acceptable?
In our last game, which we lost, most of our first team played, so the injury crisis isn't a valid excuse.

Until our last game I was a supporter of LVG, but when Norwich AND Bournemouth (who were only just promoted) beat us, it doesnt sit well with me.
The other thing is that the lack of goals started at the tail end of last season. It didn't improve this season.
His continued insistence that Rooney must play, even though he can't score a goal, even when his job is on the line. If he isn't prepared to change his ways, even when his job is on the line, then nothing will change him.

I think LVG is quite content to have us scoring 1 goal/game (and drawing/losing) and probably thinks we are doing well on the pitch (ie. dominating possession).

The simple truth is that we are now getting out foxed by rival teams which have weaker players than ours.
And the Stoke game coming up - if LVG is in charge, expect more useless possession, Rooney on the pitch and us scoring 1 less goal than our opponents.

A great manager can take a bunch of ponies and make them perform like race-horses. LVG (like Moyes before him) is doing the reverse.

true. That is why with the Morinho appointment, I back us to win the title.

If the rumours are to believed, he will be sacked within the next 270 seconds.

Regardless of whether h bid staying or going, with all the social media chatter and media speculation, it's essential that the club make a statement either way.

If they have a meeting today, this will not be a quick matter. They would have to deal with the situation, come to a agreement with LvG, they have to find a successor, and they will have to inform the shareholders. At this point, I do believe that they are having a meeting, if not, our club is handled by amateurs. If everything was fine, they would have to announce that the board are behind LvG, because the fans demand answers. At least they could stop all the questions with a announcement. LvG will be fired, thats my take on this matter.

The fact there was no board announcement after the Norwich loss confirms what most of us speculate. LvG is done. The smart money says Mourinho will be appointed. More than likely it will be today. After him, it will be Giggs. I'm certain of it.

If Ryan Giggs were the new manager, it would mean Pep is nailed on to come here in the summer. If not, and they appoint Giggs with the long term in mind while Mourinho and Pep are available, I think the fans would have to start voting with their feet.
