Takes yellow cards for fun.
He is rarely beaten, but the moment he is beaten, the next thing he does is foul.Takes yellow cards for fun.
Get a clue. Clearly one of our best players. He was playing CB yesterday and you're slagging his attacking output? I hope you remain miserable for the rest of his United career, which will be long and, I suspect, quite successful."Apart from the goal he was". Yes, but the goal was his fault and at the end of the day he "gave away" the only goal in the game. He didn't offer anything going forward as usual (I know he had a little different role) but still. He's not even average going forward, he's poor. And although he's quite good sometimes at defending, it really is not enough for Manchester United and I honestly don't get the defending. Just look at the posts here "he gave away a goal BUT". Not. Good. Enough. And. Never. Will. Be.

The goal was just as much de gea's fault.
An across the box slow cross & any other goalkeeper would come out to punch that away or catch it with both hands.
I guess that doesn't matter much does it? Because de gea will. Never. Be. A. Goalkeeper. Who. Protects. His. Box.
Oh, silly me. There was me thinking Evra was a shite crosser. Wasn't Gary Neville pretty poor at crossing at 23-24 as well? In conclusion, yes he might learn to cross. If not, Evra was shite at crossing and is in my opinion our best ever LB.Quite successful, yeah sure. What's he going to do, learn how to cross all of a sudden? He's mediocre and not even better than the Leicester fullback. United fans have been since long time blinded by mediocre that we don't even have any standards anymore.
You got that right. He will never be a keeper who protects his box.

I think he looks better because our right back is so damn useless."Apart from the goal he was". Yes, but the goal was his fault and at the end of the day he "gave away" the only goal in the game. he must stop fouling when beaten. Suspended for the second leg now and two other PL games. The alternatives are not great. He is rarely beaten, but the moment he is beaten, the next thing he does is foul.

One of the worst posts I've read today and there's been some nonsense."Apart from the goal he was". Yes, but the goal was his fault and at the end of the day he "gave away" the only goal in the game. To add to that even before that the little bit of movement by Messi to lure Luke out was pretty impressive and Luke went with him and then Messi exploited that. Just got done by arguably the greatest player ever, not really much shame in that. Handled him pretty well after that.Tbf the goal was down to the brilliance of Messi than Shaw's fault. He was going away from goal and still delivered an inch perfect cross to Suarez. He didn't even look ffs.

Utter tripe.
And when what you're saying is utter tripe. He's arguably our player of the season. I don't understand why the likes of Shaw, Pogba and Martial get the abuse they do. This is the quality of player we need. That's the argument most people use when they don't have anything to say.

Crikey. Dont know how to help you. Maybe you'll see it from everyone else's point view eventually.Pogba and Martial have quality, world-class quality and potential. Luke Shaw don't.

He is playing brilliantly the last few months. Was class yesterday imo. Yes he was also at fault for the goal, but that dont mean he was shit or will never be good enough. He is so calm on the ball, a very good passer and generally very good derensively. His technique in general is quite well. I can only see crossing as a real weakness.
Shame for the suspensions. He will be missed.

Suggest a trip to Specsavers is in order, he's constantly been one of, if not the best United player on the pitch for the last two or three months, or longer still."Apart from the goal he was". I’ll never understand why this guy gets so much praise from our fans.
He has 5 assists in 5 seasons. Just let that sink in.
Robertson and Arnold are having a competition about which one of them can get the most this season and Robertson is already on 8!
Shaw is a mid table quality player who wouldn’t look out of place at a team like Southampton or Everton. The fact that we gave him 190k a week because he scored a fluke goal against Leicester sums up the state of our board.
The “experiment” is over. He didn’t live up to the potential. All things considered, he’s been a shite signing. And if we want to win trophies again, we have to aspire for more. Look at Evra, or even Heinze. Worlds apart.
For me, Alex Sandro is the one we need but I’ve been saying that since he was at Porto. I also want Ricardo Pereira on the right side. But I won’t hold my breath... chances are, we’ll have Young and Shaw starting next season, trying to untangle their feet while they deliver shite cross after shite cross. This is the standard now. I mean, they’re loyal, “passionate” and English. What more could you want?
“One of our best players”... you make it sound like we’re doing good this season. We’re sixth. And the reason we’re sixth and not first is because of players like him, Smalling, Young and Jones playing nearly every game. It's interesting to see that there's still people who believe Shaw is a mid-table level left back. I mean, I can see the argument for needing to add a left back who has a certain flair and effectiveness in the third. But I find it rather strange that anybody who has watched us this season would argue that Shaw has A) not been one of our best players this season and B) isn't even good for our squad. He's not fanatic in the final third, there's no debate around that. But he is generally excellent in defence - one of the strongest fullbacks in England in this regard, and his general play - first touch, short passing, link up, is also of a pretty high level.
All in all, I personally think he is very good. He falls short in one key area where either he needs improvement, or we need an alternative, but on this season's evidence, he forms an important part of next season's squad without a doubt. But he has to keep the peformances up.
Yep, we were a cohesive mess under Mourinho. There's a reason lesser ability players+clubs can play more attractive football than we can. I really hope Ole can get us playing quick passing football like a proper team, not just relying on getting it wide and sticking it in the box.I think the attacking element is more due to the poor understanding between players. People say that Shaw doesn't do overlaps, but I have seen him do quite a few overlaps and the left winger rarely ever passes it to him. Usually, the person on the left wing ignores him and tries to take the opposition on himself or pass it backward. I think this has led him to hang back more.
I do not think that is all down to Shaw. I think it is up to Solskjaer to get the team working more fluidly and then you will see him getting forward more.
He is available for this leg right? I read somewhere his yellow card count makes him unavailable for today.
Is it really? He’s got more yellow cards than anybody else on the team and every single one that I can remember is a player getting in behind him and he can’t stop them any other way than pulling them down. He occasionally has a good sprint in him but stamina is a huge issue for him. I wonder why......His pace on the recovery going backwards is frightening
