Dear David.

Please could you pick Nani for a run of games? I honestly think it would be a good idea.

Thank you in advance,

Yours sincerely,

Simon.

I prefer Adnan ahead of Nani, but Nani ahead of Valencia.

I'm more disappointed with Zaha not playing but I do think it's unfair to Nani not to let him make amends for his last outing. He should count himself unlucky if he's not included in the next team. The writing is on the wall for him, however. Had Fergie stuck around I'm not sure he'd still be here and given how he's obviously viewed by Moyes I think one of the only reasons he still is is because of the managerial changeover in the summer and it being deemed there were more important issues to focus on. His new contract was probably just an administrative tidy-up to ensure he couldn't go on a free as opposed to it being a signal from the club that he's someone who was in anyonne's long-term plans.

The problem with Nani is that you can instantly know if he's going to be good or not during the first 5 minutes of the game. Its like he frequently has games where he goes on a brainfart throughout the whole game, misplacing simple passes.

He is a frustrating player, on ability he should be up with the league's very best and I am fan of him but his lack of consistency is frustrating. Valencia should not be starting ahead of him, but he forces Moyes' hand.

Even if he signed 10 year contract, not playing him will just lower his price.

As for his performances, he'll never be the player he used to be if we continue to drop him for 5 games after one poor performance.

I think it's clear that Moyes rates him highly. He got him in the team as soon as possible and has probably just taken him out the firing line for a couple of weeks due to the nonsense against Stoke. He'll be back in soon enough. Hope Portugal can get to the World Cup, too.

He'll be alright. Moyes just found a front three/four he was happy with against Fulham and wanted to keep that going in what was likely to be a difficult week of fixtures.

Nani hasn't really impressed when he's come in, but then again when was the last time he played 2 or 3 matches in a row?

A friend of mine said Nani was conned into signing a contract extension just to be sold for more than without it.

But no one wanted to pay anything for him when his contract was running down, I don't see why they would now we've given him a new deal. Unless of course he finds some form, which is hard to do from the bench.

He was playing alright when he was in the team up until that Stoke game. He was creating chances and looking much more lively than our other option on the right. 1 game where nothing really came off and he's out the team completely for what, 4 straight games. Doesn't look good does it? Next time he plays he has to deliver or the fans at the game will no doubt give him shit again.

so when will he get a chance next? against cardiff? i really hope so.
if for big games, fergie wants to protect januzaj or save him as an impact player from the bench, then i would much rather see nani on the left than kagawa.
if he plays the cardiff game and does well, it will be nice to see him start on the left against spurs.
i doubt he will be starting the leverkeusen game.
regarding zaha, if we win against leverjeusen then he might start against shaktar, otherwise i don't think he will get a game before the carling cup match.

Moyes is being treated harshly in relation to Nani here.

Moyes has shown far more willingness to play Nani than Fergie did towards the end of last season. Recently, Valencia's form has improved and Januzaj and Kagawa have had some decent games. Like others have said, Nani's hardly been in good form when he has been played this season. He's not been bad either but he is sure to get opportunities again.

It's simple actually, it's like the carrot and stick approach, he's expecting a good contract to start delivering, and that's not very professional from him and sometimes very frustrating for the fans/mates cos' we know his true potential. Or the club is expecting him to show that he's good enough to offer him a better contract. Personnally, I have no doubt about his ability, my problem is his dedication to the cause, when you wear the jersey you give your 100%, I'm afraid but it's not the case with Nani.

He's already signed a contract extension in the summer.

I really don't know why Moyes kept Nani. If he's expecting him to perform when taken in and out of the team... given 3 matches them dropped as soon as he has a poor one... We'll that's not going to happen.

The one thing we know about Nani is that he shows his ability when given a long run in the team. As soon as things get tricky with injuries, selection, etc he doesn't seem to have the money to be able to switch his to form on quickly.

Rooney is similar, but there's no problem there at the moment as he's playing every game.

Agreed.

Would love to see Nani and Januzaj both start and swap wings throughout.

Januzaj, Kagawa, Nani would be a very interesting three behind the striker as they could switch positions and all three are creative and capable of playing a fast flowing game. It's very hard to ignore Rooney these days though...

Any combination of the players you mentioned is very dangerous. Lots of skill and pace and perhaps the most important - unpredictable.

It was like the 07/08 team. Rooney, Saha (at times), Ronaldo and Tevez. They were everywhere.

Yeah dropping him after one below par game seems harsh. Next game he gets he's probably going to try too hard to impress and struggle because of it.

That's the cycle when a player doesn't get games. Same thing happened to Tevez here. And we all know how good Tevez is when he does play all the time.

Nani gives his all when he wears the United jersey. Pretending otherwise is simply a lie attached to this mythical arrogant persona that people like to pretend he has. He works as hard as anybody else out there. It's quite bizarre how a section of our support are so quick to denigrate Nani as a person, when all verbal evidence in regards to his character points to him being one of the shyest and most dedicated players in the squad. His form can be debated, but the idea that he doesn't give 100% is largely bollocks.

True.

The one part of his character I'd criticise is that he tends to feel sorry for himself if he's fouled, lying on the floor waving his arms etc rather than getting up and getting on with it. While not a very endearing trait in itself, this somehow gets inflated by his critics into a) Diving / Play-acting and b) Not giving a shit.

Valencia and Januzaj have performed better than Nani recently. Thus, Nani won't get a start ahead of them.

Easy.

Valencia is the same, just less ability. He isnt forcing Moyes hand because he isnt producing in the final third
