His logic actually makes perfect sense, I'll help you out. When Nani plays consistently - and isn't dropped and abused by Rooney and fans as soon as he has an off day - he gets into a rhythm, grows in confidence and becomes consistently effective. That's what he does for Bento who trusts him immensely, that's what he did for United in 10/11 when he had no fear of being dropped due to Valencias injury. And, yes, of course he doesn't get game time for a good reason: he's off form. But he's also off form for an equally good reason: his style is neither trusted nor appreciated in the British footballing culture, making him too easily and too frequently droppable. That's why British countries' teams are always so technically inept. That's why a player like Valencia is somehow rated higher and trusted more than a superior player like Nani just because he runs along the touchline and crosses the football like a machine. That's terrible logic, that gets used about Nani a lot. This idea that he would definitely be playing great if only he was picked more. You're putting the cart before the horse. There are obviously good reasons he's only had 2000+ minutes in two seasons so far and no, it's not just because he was injured or Moyes was an idiot.
He's been at United for seven years this week, by the way.
I know you love Wayne Rooney, so maybe you will understand better this way: Just imagine he was dropped and abused all those numerous times he played so badly he had issues even controlling a football. He wouldn't have handled it, that's why he threw a tantrum once Sir Alex started starting RVP ahead of him because of his form.
