It's beyond me how talents from somewhere else are rated as high if not higher than our very own players. You have to look very hard to find a better winger than Nani. He has been a top 3 performer for us in the last 2.5 years and people shouldnt stick to their opinion forever but recognize improvement (e.g. his antics etc)

To be honest I don't give a feck whether he goes or not... he just doesn't give his 100% (you feel he can be very much better than that)... what i see from him is playacting and dive and some super duper ball control from time to time... time for him to realise how lucky he is to play for Manchester United... either he sort his things out or feck off!

wow

Give him the cash.

If his name was Naninho and he was a fancy foreign player we were looking to sign from the likes of Sporting Lisbon or Porto we'd be talking about a £40million fee and £140,000 wages and everyone would be shitting their pants about signing him.

Because it's just simple Nani and he's already here he gets underrated. Press stories quote £25million for him, when the likes of Modric is quoted as going for no less than £40mil.

£20million each for Tiote and Baines, and Nani is only worth £25mil? feck off.

Nani plus cash for Marchisio? feck off.

This, Nani is irreplaceable pretty much, especially for the fees being quoted.

What I don't understand is us paying £17m for him, turning him into one of the best wingers on the planet and then selling him off when he's just about to peak just to buy in a younger player. Makes no sense at all.

A thing of beauty.

Shit meme gif deleted.

I think Nani is our best player. It's just the team is built around Rooney, if we did it with Nani I'd think we would get a lot more out of him personally but not necessarily the team.

Oh yeah, it's his simple British-sounding name that's holding people back. I see people in England every day called Nani, I can't see why Hodgson hasn't called him up to the national team.

Exactly.

I would take 2 Marchisio's plus cash for Nani.

I think Nani, or more significantly his agent are simply testing the water with United. He will want to know how much United want him, it's ego or insecurity measured in monetary value.

That said it is crucial they tie him down to a lucrative deal. He is a supreme talent who still has not reached his true potential, and it would be depressing to see him realise it somewhere else. I think United is still the ideal club for him and his game, hopefully he believes that too.

If he signs a new contract I expect him to step up big time. He's a player who likes to feel valued and with that come performances to match.

Oh just feck off. Please.

Nani is an extremely talented player but he does need to step his game up if he wants the big big contract that he is seemingly asking for.

If the season started tomorrow I don't think he'd be in Fergie's starting 11 what with the form of Young and Valencia.

He needs to make himself undroppable similar to the way Ronaldo was and Rooney currently is.

Before people jump all over my comment about him not getting in the starting 11 please let me explain, personally I think Nani is a superior player to both Valencia and Young. But his form was pretty shit for the last 3rd of the season and because of this I think he'd be warming the bench if the season was just about to kick off..

Ah well, good thing there's this whole Summer break, European Championship and pre-season before the season kicks off then eh?

Nani is world class. Absolutely no doubt about that for me. He had a stop start season. with niggly injuries and was still very productive. In the league he managed 8 goals and 10 assists from 29 games (24 starts) and that is fantastic. In comparison, Gareth Bale managed 9 goals and 10 assists from 36 games (36 starts). Juan Mata scored 6 goals and 13 assists in 34 games (29 starts). This shows that he just a productive as any player in the league, and if he had managed to play the whole season he would have easily been ahead for goals and assists in my opinion. I honestly cannot believe people think he should be sold if he doesn't hurry up and sign the contract. He is our 2nd most important player (would be Vidic but he was out the whole season) and he deserves the pay rise.

I don't know how you came to realise this. But it's off. Way off.

I sincerely hope we keep him. My only concerns is that he wants to be the main man in the team and playing every game. He just doesn't really get that here with our squad rotation - which is particularly common with our wide players - and it will probably get worse with Kagawa coming in.

I thought this was just all paper bullshit so I didn't take much notice, is Nani supposedly after Rooney money?

Pathetic.

I'd like to see how much of an incoherent crossover there is between the "we played shit football last season" brigade and the "Nani is crap" crowd. This place is rammed with professional moaners.

He won't going anywhere. He is a player from our first XI that would actually challenge for a spot in other top sides. Only 2 or 3 players at United right now are of the calibre to get into Barca, Real or City's lineups imo and he is one of them though I'd doubt he'd start.

boils hot and cold last season although to be fair to him, he had some injury problems. when he is fit and on form, he is a wonderful footballer, arguably one of the top 3 wingers in world football.

i hope we can sort out his contract and tie him up long, as he is entering the prime years of his career.

he could be a star at the euros as well. portugal's most consistent performer of late, even upstaging the great ronaldo in the portugal kit these days.

Of course he'd start.

Nani needs consitency in being selected, it comes as no suprise to me that his best period for us in his career so far came when valencia was injured.

And funnily enough Valencias best periods come when Nani is injured.

In fact you could almost, ALMOST say that because the other is injured it means they get to consistently play in their preferred position.

I still hear people saying Nani should be sold. What the feck is up with people?

He's our most dangerous player after Rooney FFS, arguably ahead of him! His assists and goals and his bravery in trying things even if they doesn't always come off is rare in our squad. We need him.

What is Nani most productive position? Playing on the left or the right?

We have Young, Valencia, Nani all right footed players. However many teams with quality wingers such as Bayern play with the wingers coming in from the flank.

I don't think the issue is as much as playing left or right but being able to play in a formation where the wingers can swap positions if required.

This. Nani is vital to United. He gives us an X factor at time. He can turn a game on its head on his own. He's a class act for me and it is no coincidence that he's now Portugal's go to man.

The rare time we had them both firing on the same pitch was so shit hot it didn't matter Gibson was in midfield (vs. Bayern at home).

Not giving 100%... Flash players will always have this branded at them but as far as I’m concerned i believe Nani puts the mileage in. You probably wont see him putting crunching tackles in like Jones but i wouldn’t question his commitment.

His play acting… Can and has definitely been a source of frustration to most, hurling himself to the ground clutching his face. It’s almost comical at times. Annoying and embarrassing but I think he has curbed it somewhat.

As for him fecking off… I guess if you believe he is guilty of being a lazy showboating cheat you wouldn’t really care if he fecks off, we all see things how we want to see them I guess. You are entitled to your opinion as is everyone.

I personally believe he is a player that can create genius at times, i believe his speed and mobility opens up defences and his ability to cut inside and shoot from outside the box gives other dimensions to our attacking play. He can be genuinely world class on his day which is a rarity and only if he was having an off day would I substitute him for Young (Not a bad option).
