18 assists in 24 games? That's fantastic.
As someone pointed out, he contributes around 1 goal per game, which is a fantastic stat!
....
so anyway like we was saying, is Nani now the best winger in the country?
Yes.

His goal today reminds me so much of a goal Cantona scored for United.
Can't remember against who.
I know it is not exactly an 1-to-1 comparison, in terms of impact, I'd still rate Nani below Malouda, Arshavin, Milner & even Guiterrez for that matter.
I am not saying that he is not talented, but just has not made the kind of impact he is capable of till now.

Mockney, were you given a signature or have you done that yourself?
He is so frustating. He was constantly on the ball, a constant threat, scored a brilliant goal, good cross for Owen. But the amount of times he puts in crap crosses is huge. He should have set up at least 2 more goals but he didn't beat the first man.
He could be fantastic.
Its true, but if you turn it round and have a player who scores and creates a goal, but the amount of times he put in a wayward shot and could have scored at least 2 more goals but didnt get them on target, you could easily be talking about the average Cristiano Ronaldo match.
A winger needs to produce and Nani is doing it better than any other winger than Malouda at this present time.

He was the only one providing any kind of threat today, and apart from his corners (which were mosty shit), a certain percentage of shite crosses is really what you have to expect from a winger that runs your whole attack.
You can't be serious when you say that he should have set up 2 more goals.
How often does it happen that even when a good cross comes in no one is on the end of it?
Giggs and Berbatov in the first half really should already have killed the game.
Ronaldo produced a lot more though.
It's only frustrating because Nani has so much damn ability that you should expect more. His crossing was woeful today, yet he set up one goal and scored a cracker. He could become top class easily enough though.
You're still investigating this several hours later?
Very good goal, nice assist, otherwise frustrating delivery. Should have taken on Ricketts more in the second half.
How many crosses did he put in? 20? How many were good? 2.
So a goal and an assist... and it's still not enough?
