It's not confirmed. Nothing will be confirmed 2 hours before kick-off.

If he is out it will just be a case of horse for courses. Nani will give them more opportunities to attack than Valencia or Park, so it will be perspiration over inspiration.

I prefer Nani sometimes to Nani as well, offers something really different.

It sucks for him, but it's not about his ability, its about what he brings (or rather doesn't) defensively. If we persevere with this formation next season then he'll either have to be so good as to make himself undroppable, or he'll probably leave. Not playing in the final will really hurt him, just have to hope he doesn't get his head turned.

He could do with some time in the bench, to think about the times he's decided to shoot instead of pass.

As someone said, its horses for courses....i'm sure he knows by now that its always park in the big games.

he's had a dip in form recently, so should be eased back into the team. Which is okay, him and berba carried us for large parts at the start of the season.

If he had the form of 2 months ago, he would have started for sure. With the squad we have, only those in top form can play, that is hard for Berbatov and Nani, but its also up to them

He's simply not in great form at the minute and hasn't been the same since the Carragher challenge.

I'm pretty sure he'll play in the final. He just won't start.

Valencia and Park's form meant he was not going to start. Nani did well when he came on, but Valencia's form was better leading up to the game.

Been out of form since Carragher laid into him so yeah not really unexpected for him not to start.

We were at least crying for him to come on at half time. He showed more threat in 20 minutes than Valencia and Giggs did in the entire game.

Big mistake not starting him but it's too late now.

Brought him on too late as well.

It wasn't late and Fergie should have known better. At the very latest he should have brought him on when Barcelona started dominating in the first half. I'm not blaming anyone but why isn't it allowed to say Fergie made a mistake? Nani is such an attacking force and always a goal thread, we would have desperately needed him.

Tbh I think the result would have been the same EVEN if Nani started. Barcelona just play football at a different pedestal to everyone else.

They sweep aside teams for fun.

Rubbish. When he came on our game gained peace and attacking style and Rooney came alive again. Nani and Rooney linked well, they just would have needed more time. I'm not saying we would have won the game but we would have been definitely much more of a threat.

That was because Barca were 2 up and were retreating and trying to hang onto the lead.

I agree, we ran out of time, Nani should have come on earlier.

Perhaps Nani should have started in place of Valencia, but on recent form, that was the team everyone was picking.

He threatened more on the right when he came on than Valencia did though...

None of us expected Valencia to be so ineffective tonight. He deserved the starting place on merit.

But Nani should definitely have come on sooner when our attack started to lose it's potency. It's a shame he didn't have enough time to potentially turn the game for us. It's the second final against Barcelona where he's been on the bench. Maybe next time we try something different.

Hindsight is lovely. Nani's and Valencia's form over the past few weeks made the decision between them too bloody easy.

I don't think it would have mattered much anyway. As Ole's toe poke said, Barcelona played differently when 3-1 up which helped make Nani's performance look extra good.

Wouldn't have mattered, but with a better midfield, I'd have played Nani. valencia's technique got exposed against the closing down of Barca.

Ahead of next season it's important that we start building our team in a way that we are able to extract the best from all three of him, Rooney and Hernandez at the same time.

We need more strings to play on when going up against Barcelona, and in the squad right now, he's the only one who offers that extra dimension in attack.

Worst display I've seen from Valencia. But he suited us more before the game. Have no complaints about that.

We lost the game in CM.... again.

Agreed. And we should have started to attack this way much earlier - we were never going to win after their 2:1 by keeping the style we started with. Some people don't seem to have an issue today, I have. We are a world-class team and it's simply disappointing to lose against the same team twice because of the same old reasons. I still don't understand why it always takes Fergie that much time to make substitutions when he can see that the team on the pitch isn't working properly.

I'd love it if we made subs a little earlier than the magical 70th minute mark.

I kept saying that we should bring Nani on before we concede another and I can't remember if we were 3-1 down when he came on (I think we were) but it was too late really. A substitution is supposed to revitalize the team not look like a token gesture when the team is totally out of gas and confidence.

One poor decision by Fergie on the night.

In the little time he was on he managed to make space and get a shot (which was tame in the end) away. That's the quality of player he is.

Nani's first and only contribution was giving the ball away in our own box to allow Villa to score. It was correct that he did not start. His form had been poor in the months leading up to the Final.

Not starting is fine but atleast him bring him on bloody hell. Valencia struggled all match. It would be great if we made subs a little earlier than we do.

I was a bit surprised at how ineffective Valencia was, it seemed like Abidal had schooled himself well on Valencia's move and never got done by it.

I was calling for Nani to come on when Fergie switched Giggs out left, as I felt Nani's pace would trouble Alves more than Giggs.
