I think we will see the end of James / Lingard towards the end of the Transfer Window, I have a feeling the reason why we are still hanging onto them is due to the fitness level of our first team players particularly those that have only just returned back to training.
James and Lingard could easily fetch £20m each, James is very capable of making the same impact as what Lingard did at West Ham.

I can only assume most premier league clubs are skint. There's surely loads of clubs who would take him for a reasonable fee given the last few months he had at West Ham... It would be absurd if West Ham didn't want to sign him for example, they just may not have the funds.
Chris Gunter is the record cap holder for Wales, kinda puts into perspective what standard you need to be to get a Welsh cap.

Yes, i agree with this too. I think it should be two-three seasons that we would know, esp for anybody thats 25+ after that period.
Everybody is saying 10m or so, for the players, but again, thats what we as fans would want to receive just to see the back of them.
The club as a business, will look at the contracts, the ability of the player and then importantly the market itself, where you see lesser or equal players going for higher amounts.

Thing is, other clubs get more value because they sell at the right time. Every club knows how good a player can be most of the time. We should have sold Pereira a long time ago, instead we kept him in plans. Now everyone knows that he is shite.
Tammy Abraham example is quite telling. He had a great season under Lampard, then had limited opportunities after Werner signed. Now they are selling him before he has another shite season for 40m!

20 for Pereira is too high, but if Lingard is Maddison's replacement and he goes for 60 I could see 30 near the end of the window as a bit of panic sets in. He's 28 and has 29 England caps and only Henderson in the midfielders picked ahead of him would go for under 50 and the 26 year old Prowse who was a final cut with him would go for near 40 I think.
The Prem tax is high right now and Lingard is proven, in form and enough people seem to rate him. Personally, I wouldn't want to pay 30M for a 28 year old #10 who's such a poor passer in the final 3rd, but if he gets 40 goals over the next 3 seasons the main attacking midfielder from that spot and links play, with his decent mobility and defensive work relative to that spot on the pitch it's not really out of the market. There's definitely better value around Europe, but if you're a manager who gets fired if you finish 14th and keeps their job if you finish 8th like Moyes or Rodgers (not sure he'd get fired off one bad year but he'd be up against it the next season and that's assuming things don't sour during a brutal year like that)...

That loan spell at West Ham really put Lingard in the shop window, so if Lingard was available at a sensible price, those clubs would surely go for him, not at £30m, but definitely circa £20m.

I’d be fine with £20m for Lingard. Would be for the best for both parties if he left the club this summer.
For him to get into any sort of form he needs to be continuously starting games which he shouldn’t be getting at United.
Needs to come off the payroll aswell since his performances at United doesn’t justify his wages. Would be good for United to put the money on this new significant signing Luckhurst is on about.

The fact no one has come sniffing for Lingard tells me we should be grateful to get £15-20 million for him. I believe he's in the last year of his contract too, so interested clubs might just be willing to sit and wait.
Pereira, I'd be surprised if we got more than £10 million, never mind £15 million, if we even manage to sell him at all. He's not proven anything, anywhere, so he's a gamble for anyone that wants to take him on. Imagine his wages could be a stumbling block for some clubs too.

We should have sold Tuanzebe to Villa 2 summers ago, James to Leeds last summer & Williams to Southampton last summer. All 3 have dropped in value now. We need to be more ruthless in offloading players who aren’t good enough, academy or not. Liverpool got £20m+ each for crap like Brewster, Solanke & Ibe. If they were at United they’d leave for free years later when their contacts expired.
I don't think James's value has dropped, he just came off the back of a fairly solid Euros. We'd probably fetch a pretty respectable fee for James, he's young, on a modest wage compared to our other players, a full International and his skillset looks perfect for a middle-lower half team looking to sit back and play on the counter. Playing for United highlights his weaknesses, a bit like Lingard, but at another club I think he'd do well.
All were sold at ages 20-21 the same age Williams is right now, he might not ever make it as a starter but squad depth he's fine to have around, you're gonna need to promote someone up or buy in a replacement.
Why would you sell a 21 year old Axel, he looked the business, he got injured an fell down the pecking order due to lack of game time/ readiness. We also get got 5mil for loaning him out this year, so subtract that from any potential value in flogging him two years ago for 20m or whatever.

Unfortunately for us I think that potential suitors have longer memories and will take into account the 18 goals and 10 assists in 133 appearances before he joined West Ham.

it’s been quite clear for some time that the 3 of them are not good enough. If we got 20m each for them (sold at the right time) we have 60m to sign a top midfielder.
When it comes to prospective selling fees, a lot of posters have lost all sense of proportion.

Those are not freebee, give away and trivial amounts, even to the bigger clubs.
The biggest joke is the repeated assertions that player X or Y are a load of rubbish, but we expect some other team to buy this load of rubbish for £10m or £20m.
