He fits in Arsenal's 4-2-3-1 formation as left-winger but he could never play in a 4-4-2 formation as left-winger.He can play as a striker but I think he is more effective as a left winger.

Is he still in the German team ?
He's one of those players who need to be completely trusted by the manager, even if he doesn't turn up for a couple of games. Seeing how stubborn Wenger is with some of his players, sticking to them no matter how crap they are, Podolski will be just fine. He's a definite upgrade to Gervinho and provide a goal threat, hard work and decent set-pieces.Makes sense that Arsenal want him. Got skills but also a mental problem and prone to going cold.
Not bad, but not a patch on Nani, Valencia, Giggs, Young, Park.So Walcott, Podolski, Gervinho and Chamerlain as wingers next season. Not bad.

He'll do well over here and would fit in nicely at Arsenal.
Podolski signed for Bayern at the age of 23, four years ago, where Klinsmann was their head coach and when the club was actually in transition. He really wasn't given a fair chance at Bayern - did reasonably well with 6 goals and 7 assists in 24 matches for the Bavarians. In terms of his football, yes. But I'm not sure he'll handle it mentally (well, some would say it's a perfect fit, then!). He was already at a big club with Bayern, couldn't hack it and went back to Koln. Excellent player, a big favourite of mine, but I'm not sure such a move will work out.
Köln have been really gash lately so I can't see him staying, despite him being absolutely adored by the whole city.

His record for the national side - as already pointed out - is excellent and I think he has matured enough to make the move abroad.

Indeed, their defence is utter horseshit apart from Rensing. No idea whatever happened to the highly-rated Geromel
I've put money that this transfer will happen in the summer. He seems very keen on a move to arse according to his friend.
He can leave Cologne for 5m if they're going down. Not good enough for the money he's likely to cost IMO.
OK, useful squad addition at that money unless he wants silly wages. He can leave Cologne for 5m if they're going down.
I'm confused where he would play. Arsenal have got Walcott, Gervinho, OX-C, Miyachi, Joel Campbell who can play on the wide positions for the next seasons. Plus they still have Arshavin who can play there. I'm not convinced that he would go to Arsenal as RVP's backup.
Podolski < Walcott, Gervinho, OX-C, Miyachi, Campbell, Arshavin.
Podolski isnt THAT bad
Unfortunately I think it is, another player who isn't going to really improve the first XI. (100K is average money these days).Hmm 13m Euros and 100k in Wages, seems a very UnArsenal deal for me.

100K euros seems par for the course. Bild reckons it's upwards of 18M euros which is too much in my book unless we're using the Carroll-index.
