Did the fans actually sing his name, anybody hear it?

Yeah, but they were feckin Brazilians. It wasn't a massive contingent of United fans trying to sway him

The Brazil fans only sang his and Neymar's name during the game. Also, during the announcing of the players' names before kick-off, there wasn't a dickie bird from anyone until Neymar's name was called out, then there was a big cheer.

Can anybody translate what he said on his twitter account 1 hour ago?

Something along the lines of Sao paulo no returno something something Manchester...

Edit : he said he's happy they qualified in Manchester, nothing to see here. Yet.

That would be Devlish , who is hoping that any negotiations will fail.

I brought a link from a decent Italian site (its not BBC but its better then goal and tribal especially in matters concerning the Milan clubs for obvious reasons) and translated it for all of you. Actually these conspiracy theories are funny. If I support a deal, then I am a muppet. If I show concerns about a deal (which echoes what's been said by legends and journalists on MUTV and beyond) then I want every negotiation to fail.

And the rest. Majority of them have a Short shelf life

That's due to an unhealthy lifestyle (booze etc) + a demanding international career. I've read somewhere on the italian media that Ronaldo (the fat one) in his prime passed 4-5 yrs without any football break whatsoever.

Only 2 days left until his agent gets more money off the club for a transfer. Fun times.

No there's not. There's 2 days left until Lucas and his family get more money but also 2 days left until Sao Paulo raise the price to make sure they get the same amount.

The ownership issue could prove to be the sticking point. Sao Paulo want more than the 30 million (or so) and its in Lucas interests to wait two days for that extra 3 million. That means we would have to increase our bid by 3 million just to ensure that Sao Paulo receive the same as the previous bid PLUS extra on top to reach their perceived valuation of the player. We would probably need to up the bid by 6 million at least!

Really the fact the share percentage changes puts all three parties in a very difficult position in regards to completing a transfer

I don't quite understand why we assume Sao Paolo would automatically increase their asking price by £3m. I understand it from a "that's how much we want for this player" perspective, of course, but surely they must be intelligent to realise that their existing asking price is already demanding and, if they really do want the money, it's unlikely they'll get even more.

I'd say more likely is that there needs to be some form of negotiation with the player to see if he can reduce his increased cut of the fee as a way of saying "thank you" to the club for allowing him to move to Europe. For example, he only takes an additional 5% and then we split the remaining difference with Sao Paolo.

Or is that naive?

Either way, this one doesn't feel particularly promising at the moment.

The issue is that they have rejected 70 percent of 30 million. If they weren't willing to accept that then they won't accept 60 percent of 33 million as that would mean the offer would essentially be the same ( maths may not be correct but you get the point). We would have to offer more than 33 million to increase our current offer once Sao Paulos percentage drops but like you say I think Lucas and Sao Paulo would need to find some middle ground to get the deal to go through

Yeah, I get that from a mathematical perspective but, considering the amount of 'flirting' they appear to be doing with the media, they are obviously keen to sell. As such, surely they need to manage their own expectations of what they can truly receive for him.

They will know that, if £30m is too much, £33m certainly will be. So it really comes down to how much they want to sell him for what is already a pretty huge fee. It wouldn't surprise me if it's become a massive bluff call by both sides which will result in the deal failing to materialise.

Not entirely the whole picture considering that he can also play central which imo is his best position, there he has Oscar ahead of him.

The way this Brazil team is lined up I would say they need a player more like Oscar or Ganso to play in that position. Lucas may well end up playing there as he matures, but right now his main attributes still seem to be running at opposition defences rather than picking them apart with incisive passing.

This just all seems to make zero sense.

It does make sense. SAF and his team clearly see this guy as the next Cristiano Ronaldo, have you ever seen him play? There is nothing more alluring to SAF than a winger with the skill to amaze and inspire.

I guess the question is if you agree with the perception.

Personally I think it is a done deal already.

Estou muito feliz que a equipe qualificada em #Manchester e desejo que eu estava com meu bebê

Translation: "I dream of the Manchester team and long to play alongside Bebe"

Thats a wrong translation. I speak portuguese. Need to know the full text so that I can translate it. Would you please send the link.

Arr feck, I really thought that Lucas wanted to come to United to play alongside Bebe for a second there.

...

That's not the part that doesn't make sense to me mate.

Naming him as a transfer target, paying a very very large fee for a player straight out of South America...just not our kind of transfer in the main.

I'd be happy to sign the kid tbf.
