Television Lost: The Final Season

I thought they were something to do with the Valenzetti equation?

Really? First I've heard.
Yup, ill get the link in a sec...might take a while to find it though
I thought they were something to do with the Valenzetti equation?

Yeah, but that wont be brought up in the show or something if i remember correctly

edit: Yeah, seems I was right:

Damon Lindelof

There are some questions that are very engaging and interesting, and then there are other questions that we have no interest whatsoever in answering. We call it the midi-chlorian debate, because at a certain point, explaining something mystical demystifies it. To try and have a character come and say, "Here is what the numbers mean," actually makes every usage of the numbers up to that point less interesting.

You can actually watch Star Wars now, and when Obi-Wan talks about the Force to Luke for the first time, it loses its luster because the Force has been explained as, sort of, little biological agents that are in your blood stream. So you go, "Oh, I liked Obi-Wan's version a lot better." Which in the case of our show is, "The numbers are bad luck, they keep popping up in Hurley's life, they appear on the island." ... But if you're watching the show for a detailed explanation of what the numbers mean—and I'm not saying you won't see more of them—then you will be disappointed by the end of season six.

Damon Lindelof

Here's the story with numbers. The Hanso Foundation that started the Dharma Initiative hired this guy Valenzetti to basically work on this equation to determine what was the probability of the world ending in the wake of the Cuban Missile Crisis. Valenzetti basically deduced that it was 100 percent within the next 27 years, so the Hanso Foundation started the Dharma Initiative in an effort to try to change the variables in the equation so that mankind wouldn't wipe it itself out.

Good explanation by Lindelof, i think I prefer it that way.

Yeah fair enough, it's no secret that throughout the show they've added a lot of unnecessary questions to the plot, mainly due to the fact that they had no idea when the hell the show would end when they were filming S2 and S3, so there's no way in hell we'll get answers to everything in the space of 16 episodes, but as long as they answer the big things I'll be happy.

Oh, not sure if this has been mentioned, but they've been given an extra hour, so both the opening episode and finale will be 2 hours long, meaning we get 18 hours total :D

Lost... and Gone Forever The guy in this blog went to Hawaii and saw some of the filming locations. Interesting stuff and he says it looked like the settings were 2008 island and they were planning to film there, particularly by the graves of Eko, Shannon, etc..., which means they didn't prevent the crash from happening.

Don't worry about Sharky, he's taken up the caf resident moaner position since Addict's banning.

I bet you they'll kill off two or three characters that the audience is meant to like (so probably that stupid cnut Jack or that whore Kate), make vague references to everyone being part of some larger machination, have everyone stand around looking stunned and confused for a few episodes, and then opt out of writing anything else that makes sense.

Because that counts as closure.

Oh Christ, you mean this shit is still going?

I gave up after one season of being promised to "answers" to "all of your questions" "next week" for a year.

All the answers have been given. You just had to know where to look. We're now just following the loop to it's intersection point.

I've got a brilliant idea. . .how about they combine it with Heroes? Imagine the possibilities.

Shite, it's not like adding cornflour
It needs to be crossed with that True Blood vampire faggotry.

Because as we all know, vampires that are effeminate and wer gucci are big sellers, the penis munchers that they are.

Well check you out, a little bit too concerned about the effiminate vampires. You like them really, maybe a bit too much. Admit it.

Ive heard the opposite.

I've not seen a single episode of this show, but I know it concerns people stranded on an island after a plane crash.

I think they should end it with Tom Hanks having all the answers in a Fed-Ex envelope and delivering it to a strange woman's house.

Either that or they change the timeline and the plane crashes on Donnie Darko's house.

.

Look fella, if you have nothing good to say about any program, how about you stay out of the threads or the entertainment forum in general? Leave the rest of us alone who do want to discuss what we watch.

Now either you take it onboard or ill do it for you

 I would actualy love that

Ive heard the opposite.

Maybe those guys around the explosion get thrown into another timeline whereas the others lot stay in that current timeline. Then they realise they are in the wrong timeline and need to somehow get the feck back to where they should be?

I've heard the fake Locke beats the crap out of Richard after he comes out from under the foot where Jacob was living

ive also heard that rumor/spoiler...apparently after that locke points a finger at everyone and says

I am not pleased and im disappointed in all of you.

I cannot wait for the series...what are we going to do once it ends?!

I honestly dont know what im going to do, spending half a decade obsessed with this show and then it all just enbds....ill most likely ease the pain by buying all the seasons on blu ray

they should make a new spinoff and that too when the blackrock arrives.

people would watch it and they'll make there money so why aren't they doing it ??

Havent got a clue. Lost has just been immense. Season 3 finale was my favourite, when the flashback was a flashforward, a total mindjob!

Yeah that one totally fecked me up as well, I've not been as confused as some people but that was a real WTF moment for me.

I've tried for years to give up on Lost, but ultimately they manage to pull me back in.

Can't wait for the final season. It better be something special because there are, as always, a lot of question marks.

Yeah that was superbly done. One of the best TV twists I've ever seen.
